Ever just want to tear your hair out, or someone else's? If you cannot restore a sense of balance, you will run away from home? Just want to say some things without the constraints of staying on topic? Well, this thread is for you! If you just need a short break to let it all hang out, be a brat, then come on, you can do it. No holding back! Go for it, you can do it.
The Rolling Stones
I saw her today at the reception
A glass of wine in her hand
I knew she would meet her connection
At her feet was her footloose man
No, you can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometime you find
You get what you need
We went down to the demonstration
To get your fair share of abuse
Singing, "We're gonna vent our frustration
If we don't we're gonna blow a fifty-amp fuse"
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes well you just might find
You get what you need
I went down to the Chelsea drugstore
To get your prescription filled
I was standing in line with Mr. Jimmy
And man, did he look pretty ill
We decided that we would have a soda
My favorite flavor, cherry red
I sung my song to Mr. Jimmy
Yeah, and he said one word to me, and that was "dead"
I said to him
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you just might find
You get what you need
You get what you need--yeah, oh baby
I saw her today at the reception
In her glass was a bleeding man
She was practiced at the art of deception
Well I could tell by her blood-stained hands
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you just might find
You just might find
You get what you need
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you just might find
You just might find
You get what you need

Why do any of us need what we are getting?
(those of us fed up enough to question it).
So, they're running everywhere by now?
"Biggin'" "Jewel" and "Viola".It will so hard to have to say goodbye to some, but in the meantime I know this is a very special moment in time and I'm enjoying the extra work. And yeah Send,They're all over that junkroom now, roaming.Yesterday, one had orange all around it's mouth. All I could figure was that it must have sucked on some orange tissue paper under the bed.Bootsie is a very protective, good Mother. The babies are all healthy and I am very grateful.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Send
I'm like a math book lately, nothing but problems and since I was never good at math, I don't have any solutions
I want a cat or a dog, no kittens or puppies, please. Only because I don't have time to commit to little ones right now. There's an open cat shelter in Chicago. Maybe... I need to walk in there and let one pick me out as their new pet parent. That sounds really nice. I'd like some company, and a natural endorphin/oxytocin boost wouldn't hurt , either... (whatever it is that pets do for us that makes us less likely to be depressed).
Didn't even get to finish the question. There was a woman in my house first thing next day with a whole basket of kittens. Two of whom got out and climbed the wallpaper, and stayed for the next eighteen years. You have been warned.
So mad at him right now, but he is so sweet, right? Grrrrr!
Alison you certainly don't have time for a puppy but how about a pair of kittens from the same litter. They would keep each other company while you work and not need to be taken out for "walkies" or potty trained.
Maybe all I need is a comforting cat in addition to hubs. Hmmmm. Except, I have a cat allergy. Forgot.
My American Eskimo dog had special hair/fur that was non-allergic.
No pets allowed. Will go shopping instead.
3 “[b]Blessed are the [c]poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
5 “Blessed are the [d]gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.
6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
10 “Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Did you mistakenly enter "B e a s t i t u d e s"???
Lol.
Also found early contemplation of beatitudes by St Gregory of Nyssa.
" Beatitude is possession of all things held to be good from which nothing is absent that a good desire may want.
Perhaps the meaning of beatitude may become clearer to us if it is compared to it's opposite.
Now the opposite of beatitude is misery.
Misery means being afflicted unwillingly with painful sufferings "
cwillie don't know if St Gregory, whoever he was, makes anything clearer.
As far as your computer is concerned mine plays those games all the time. It also types the word it thinks I am about to put in which is very annoying
Dear Mail Lady, I am sorry that my ordering packages is such an inconvenience for you. Remember when we all thought that the postal service was going to go defunct because everyone went to emails and e-bills and stopped using the mail system. Well, ecommerce has saved your job.
So, now, every day tis week, I have been placing an order for something heavy from Amazon. Today, it is a case of copy paper. The 20 pound bag of dog food should be here tomorrow. Ha, take that grumpy Mail Lady.
I can't believe how many of my cousins, who are 60-75 do not have a computer device at home. I can't get along without a computer, and I do my clothes shopping on-line, which is usually trial and error when it comes to sizes :P
Veronica - I have had a great relationship with my UPS guy. He places the packages as close to the door as possible so they do not get wet even in the sloppiest of storms. USPS, on the other hand, places the packages right at the porch step where they would get wet if it rains.
And thanks for the tip. Cancelling the paper order and ordering pillows instead. Bwaaahaaa ha
