Does your Cat (or any pet) misbehave since caregiving your loved one?

I feel like some cats really need another cat in the home. Probably more so than not, depending on how much time your cat is left alone
Probably the biggest bad behavior, would be not going in the litter box, and finding gifts around you house.
I have one cat ( my first) . She’s 5 years old . She was an only cat until about 6 months ago when my daughter moved back home ( temporarily ) with her cat ( she is 7 years old).
Daughter and her cat will be moving out soon. What should I expect ? Any behaviors I should be aware of that are worrisome ? I think my cat may miss the other cat , however I do not really want to feel like I need to adopt a sibling for my cat. We will plan playdates . The other cat I don’t think will care either way . She’s more the loner of the two .

At first I was wondering about bird flu, but I'm sure he was indoor cat. I have one that goes out, we stopped feeding the birds this year, just in case.

Happy Mother's Day to all of us pet parents.
Yesterday it was my wool llbean socks that I couldn't find all winter. Today it was my sock, with a tennis ball in it , for my back , that I couldn't find.
I think 4 legged friends are good in situations like this. A bit of a break from all the hard work.
That's so nice Rocky is enjoying his new digs, and adjusted well.
My cats have been a bit better behaved. Step son that lives with us, works till 12am, and usually stays up through the night, but he had the cold and went to bed early, they were getting lonely during the night. Wow what a surprise 🫢 that was, being dive bommed, in a half asleep mode.
Looks like the barking dog situation is resolving. Now the dog barks for food/treats but not so much otherwise. Thank goodness!!!
Had a visitor from down the hall the other day, and Rocky decided to be sociable with her and went over and allowed herself to be petted. I'm amazed at the change in her since we've come here.
Not the one that scratches me. This is my youngest one of the 3 . She knows how to open things. She can let her self outside of my screen door, she can also open are bedroom door if she really wants.
I heard her trying really hard to get in are bedroom, at 4:30 this morning. She finally did it got in, I jumped up and tried to get her out she got under the bed. I went back to bed and was laying there waiting for her to come to me , so I could grab her and put her out.
So I'm lying on my back , pretend to sleep, listening for her. What I didn't know was she was in the headboard, and jumped right on my bladder. So I'm up , not happy at all and she is outside!! 😡😡
Rocky is plain weird - she likes vegetables. Always has. I put turnip in her wet food, (it adds fiber), she wanted some of my vegan yogurt and ate about 5 pieces of romaine I gave her from my lettuce wrap and would have eaten more but I dare not give her more. I think she ate a bud off my Christmas cactus. It was a fair size and suddenly disappeared. I have stopped her from eating a whole flower on a cactus before. I have a couple of pots of grass for her but seems like that's not enough.
Cat nip does help, but then the other 2 cats take it from her because she is easily bullied by them. Treats would also help then fat cat ( lol, yes that's her name) will come and want treats , which we try not to give her many treats.
Oh the things we do for are pets, but we 💕 💕 💕 them
I didn't mean to be critical - I hope it didn't come across that way! I can imagine how your lovely cat is driving you mad with her constant need for attention.
We sprayed the Feliway in areas that made them safe spaces for Spot (our ginger, stripey cat - of course 😸) - near his bed etc. The plug-in was placed near his food bowl because he was too anxious to eat and drink during the day when we were out at work/school. At one point he would only eat if we were sitting with him and stroking him while he ate, or feeding him from a spoon (I'm absolutely serious). The pheromone product really helped, as did his 2 favourite toys which he took everywhere with him - his catnip filled stuffed fish and his feather and string on a stick.
I hope you find something that works.
I dealt with his behaviour tics with Feliway (the brand name of a spray or plug-in that delivers pheromones that calms pets) and toys with catnip, which he would cuddle up to, once he'd stopped going crazy with them!
Perhaps you could use an old tee shirt or sweater of yours, with your smell on, to place on your cat to comfort her?
I only ever used a spray bottle a couple of times when teaching him to not go on tables and counters. Otherwise, I wouldn't use that - especially when it's taken this cat so long to trust you and feel safe.
Ask the vet (or pet supplies store) about other ways to calm cats and also about what pheromone treatment brand is available where you are. Good luck!
