Hey folks, welcome to the new whine/general topic thread. Feel free to use this thread to discuss anything that is on your mind. Caregiving- related stuff, life after a loved one's death, your own emotional wellbeing. Whatever..........anything on your mind.
Why, AC?
My experience has been they are very lenient about any topics and any opinions posted, even when it may be a controversial subject.
However, when name calling, attacking other caregivers, and trolls are discovered to have started an inflammatory thread, or turn a thread into one big controversy, the Admins do take appropriate action, imo.
We all need to get over ourselves and keep this forum upbeat and positive.
And don't get me wrong, I am a team player, up and until the 'team' tries to take down this valuable forum for us to vent and share. We need Aging Care.
It would be better if everyone acted polite like adults, needing less supervision and intervention.
I hope the ACCM will erase my post here because I do not work for AC, and I don't want to be the bad guy. But some things need to be said as a placeholder until the forum moderators get back. imo.
Of course I had to get up and look since rain is so rare here.
Also, had to confirm it was not another broken sprinkler.
The sky had fluffy clouds. Beautiful!
Whatever........anything on your mind it says.
But thanks for the warnings.
This includes discussions about covid. I've enjoyed hearing others on here discuss their experiences with the pandemic generally and how we have all fared with the vaccine (or not).
Lets keep it civil.
Knowing something was wrong, her interpreter eventually got the problem out of her and the reason why she hadn't felt able to tell. He patted her reassuringly and said "of course I understand! We have First World problems too."

You will not get as many posts in your news feed if you decrease the number of TOPICS.
Click on your own avatar.
Click on Settings.
Go to TOPICS, and delete (click on the X) which topics you can live without.
Additionally, you can 'Stop following' posters who are prolific, annoying, or odious to you.
You will still receive unwanted posts in your news feed if you are following someone who posts on the topic you stopped following.
Thanks for helping. I’m not too good on puters.
Follow CWillie's instructions to DELETE.
Turn on your computer.
Login to the Aging Care Forum.
Click on your avatar, or go to your Profile.
Go to NEWS FEED. Click on News Feed.
There are 3 dots on the upper right hand of each comment, click on the dots.
Choose DELETE.
One can only go back so far in time on your News Feed to delete.
My instructions were for a different function, a different place (Settings), with the purpose of limiting what comes on to your NEWS FEED in the future.
I could be wrong, because I am not fully computer literate, depending on my husband for the serious stuff.
Whenever you make a comment on any question, discussion, or thread, you are automatically "following" that thread.
If you make a comment, and wish to not follow that thread, scroll to the top where the OP asked a question and click unfollow immediately under the title
on the left margin.
Are you okay?
zzzzzzzzz
Largely uninhabited area.
Any EQ anywhere can get me nervous.
Saying goodnight everyone on the General Topics thread!
Not staying up to find out more. Will be needing sleep for challenges ahead.
Rest easy caregivers, in God's hands, nothing we can control.
I’ll do as I’ve read elsewhere: “Pick your battles”. I have enough to worry about rather than worry and grieve over this. Right?!
Thanks again!
I just sent an angry text to my "I'll get around to it later" nephew. If we can't reach the targets we will be stuck in this h3ll forever🤬
Excuse me?
Sure we have our anti vaxxers too but on the whole there is no comparison. And our politicians and other elite found out pretty early on that any kind of covid hypocrisy would not be tolerated.
Life sucks in so many ways. I'm going to be in constant prayer for a good while I think.😟
My son reposted a vulgar but extremely funny video on the subject https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x41AYqvlCAs
Not even Boris could keep him after that. Sometimes you just don't know where to look.
On the day to day living home front, I am very saddened to hear that your cat, Daniel, has died today. 😿
I will be remembering him, the stories you have told, and the way you stood strong with him through to the end of his life.
Prayers for your comfort.
Sis called me for advice this morning, I told her she needs to watch her back and defer to family, plus as far as we know now MIL still has capacity to make her own choices. The family drama will begin this morning as sis starts making phone calls 😬
