Hey folks, welcome to the new whine/general topic thread. Feel free to use this thread to discuss anything that is on your mind. Caregiving- related stuff, life after a loved one's death, your own emotional wellbeing. Whatever..........anything on your mind.
My life has been so utterly consumed by all the POA, medical POA issues with Mom is MC, stuff with the estate, now G&C with an estate inventory due in a few weeks, sold 2 properties long distance, etc, etc, that what is left is given fully to my 2 grandkids and adult daughter who live with me - my joy is found in the Gkids. hard to be the axis that my family and parents' lives revolve on.
Did I mention the pain and inability to sleep? The stress?
I'll be happy to land in a hospital bed for a night or two and be knocked out to sleep and rest. And I look forward to recovering and regaining my mobility and lost lower limb strength.
I know that growing older is not for the faint of heart, but seriously?

i’m working on my to-do list:
1. finish writing the list
2. panic
🥰
"Don’t be afraid to start all over again. You may like your new story better.”
I had a frustration bawl today cause of my foot. The fracture boot is so uncomfortable. I actually found some slippers that have better arch support and is helping my foot feel more comfortable. So while I'm at home I'll wear them with the crutches. I'll save the fracture boot for when my patience is higher.
Hope you feel better Send.
Those boots are extremely uncomfortable Gershun. Even painful. I know from personal experience. I wore mine once. Confusing, isn't it? How to comply so you will get better, but how to get better without the hassel.
Since I am not an expert, not a doctor, I could not suggest you did not get the boot. Maybe that is why your ER doctor was so no-committal giving you instructions. Maybe the doc knew most people won't wear the boot.
I think you can wear them when you need to go outside.
Do you have some soft specialty socks to wear under the boot?
Whatever works for you this time G.
Edit: Yeah, not too expensive.
Shopping is a natural form of pain relief through distraction.
Great minds think alike.
