The spirits of past pets.

Brush your hair back out of your face? That way if it is a spirit you could see it better. (I know, that answer was a stretch, wasn't it?) Lol.

It's probably just all the constant commotion around me and maybe my nerves are shot.

Hoping some helpful caregivers can weigh in with the possible animal sightings, or is it a medical eye problem for Luckylu?

luckylu, I see the same thing. I could swear some cat or critter had quickly went by. I think for myself, it's aging eyes.... black floaters or something to do with cataracts.

luckylu - I don't discount the possibility of spirits. Mother woke up and saw my father, looking his best, standing by her bed about 3 months after he died. She told him she loved him and after a short while he faded away. She was not given to "seeing" things and this was a couple of decades before she developed vascular dementia. I have seen what you describe. I have also heard things that I thought were a pet walking, only to find the pet happily sleeping in another part of the house. Our plane or dimension is only part of this universe. Our loved ones are on another plane - in another dimension. I think sometimes we get a little contact with them. There are many things we don't understand.

I really like what you said Golden...Another dimension....
And Freqflyer...I kinda think it could go with cataracts too but I know I'm really overwhelmed right now and I'm so tired, so it could be lack of sleep and never stopping all day, day after day and it's caught up with me OR it could be my "Savvy Sue" I Loved so much and lost whisping by like smoke...I just don't know, but THANK YOU to everyone for their input.

Lu I've seen those little dark images out of the corner of my eye. My two cats sometimes stare fixedly at things that I can't see. I've read that children and animals can sometimes see spirits or whatever you want to call them. In fact just last night when I was prowling around my place cause I couldn't sleep my cat kept staring at something behind my head. At first I thought it might be a bug but I couldn't see anything. So who knows.

The toilet overflowed after I flushed some cat puke this morning AFTER I left for work. Husband walked into two inches of water in half the house and freaked out cats trapped by rising tide. Guys are still here pulling carpet and fans

Uh oh. The cats, or cat spirits are not happy with us talking about them, maybe.

I just had visions of sugarplum candies dancing in my head....but when I went to eat some, there was chocolate instead.

Guestshop............Lol, Don't mean to laugh but we were having this delightful conversation about cat spirits and so on and then got woken up with a start out of our reverie with your cat puke story. LOL

Guest, So sorry that happened, what another flooding! There must have been a furball in there somewhere. That happened to me, but I had to pull up the new carpet myself....many years ago.
They can save your carpets, or you can have hardwood flooring installed to save on allergies.
There were  NO CATS  at all, just  Mr. Fix-it  installing a toilet seat cover with a screw driver....he went to bed.......memories come flooding back!

I know I know. Huge fans blowing and cats hiding under bed. They blame me...

Hard to sleep with those fans and part of the house torn up.
Find a place, sleep anyway, please.

Calling in daily for jury service....if I wait to call in, maybe everyone else will have been called in and I won't be called. It is not like me to be getting out of reporting, but feeling over 65, not too well, not really an excuse......please!
My sister is laughing at me, following their instructions. She just throws hers away, then throws away the postcard threatening fines....why does she get away with it?

Kitty treats on their way......!

Report

My kitty Daniel went to the vet on Friday, stayed overnight, got his teeth cleaned and full blood check. We were worried cause the vet said he was at risk for diabetes cause he is a bit of a chunky cat............:) but good news, he is diabetes free. We do have him on a diet now though so no cat treats for him.

My husband insisted on picking up terrified cat and trying to walk past not one but two of the giant fans to take cat to front room where we are sleeping....the holes in his shoulder are now peroxided and antibiotic ointmented...but the shirt will never be the same. *shaking head*

Guest, I had to read back to see what the giant fans were about. I know baseball season has begun, but when I first read your post, giant fans in my mind was Giants fans. I take it the cat was for the other team... Seriously, I hope your husband is feeling better after the poor kitty got nervous.

Gershun, decades ago I had a cat who once in awhile would be staring up at the ceiling.... my gosh what was he looking at?.... my then hubby and I would be looking up and not seeing anything....

Then we would look at the cat, he was looking at us with this stupid look on his face like he was saying "got ya" :P

He use to play that trick on us every now and then.

Guestshopadmin, ah constructing material and cats... sometimes they just don't mix. That is one reason I never repaired the water leak coming from the upstair's hall bath, nor decided to remodel the very old kitchen. There was a lot of cat trauma when we had our windows replaced.

But I do remember back when I was a kid, a roofer was doing our tall old city house would say to my Dad "can you please keep your cat inside, she keeps getting on the roof". The only way she could get up their was via the tall extension ladder. The roofer had to carry her down.

There are many caregivers missing their Moms (or Dads) still posting,
two years after their passing.
Just wanted to say that your continued presence here, supporting others, and keeping things interesting as you share how life does go on even grieving your loss, life does go on and has a purpose. It has been my pleasure knowing you. So thank you.
Not knowing everyone, I will mention Gershun and Countrymouse,
May 2017.

My last dog, swear it was (or should have been) a former
narcotics canine cop.
She would alert to drug smells in the area, and often would stare at the ceiling, bark, until we closed the front windows. This became a late-night nuisance, but funny as we remember it. Telling some unsavory drug dealers that she was a former narcotics dog would have them avoiding our area!
Mission accomplished.

Send, thx for that.................this little thread just disappears. Probably cause this was just supposed to replace the whine thread when it disappeared for a brief moment. But I appreciate you bringing it back to the front occasionally.

Gershun, I like this thread too. I feel it is much less pressure to stay on topic when it would be interrupting others conversing on the whine thread. You said anything on your mind! I'll post later when the time has not just slipped away since 4 p.m. Where does the time go, anyway?

Keep this general topics going please......

Okay Send, let me think of an innocuous subject I can start the ball rolling with. Something lighthearted and funny maybe. Hmmmm....................still thinking......................thinking....................hmmm.

My cat likes to sleep on my feet when I'm on the computer. He likes to put his front paws on my knees and reach up and rub his cheek against mine when I'm on the toilet. He carries on full conversations with hubs. Hubs hasn't got a clue what they are talking about but Daniel, my cat seems quite happy with these conversations, so it's all good. We've got several names for our cats. Daniel has a few..........Gurgle James Weatherbee, Fargus, Sweet Charlies Hoss, to name a few. Henrick, my other cat is also know as Henrick of ancient Eygpt, Red Rectum, etc.

There, have I killed a bit of your time with this innocuous post? :)
