It's almost the first Saturday in May

Thunder and Snow predicted.  Scratch that due to rain.

Warming to 61° F, 70% chance of rain.

Report

We have several days of rain and colder temps moving in, the farmers will be getting anxious because they haven't been able to get out on the land, (once a farmer's daughter, always a farmer's daughter lol). Accuweather says rain will start in 110 minutes, I could hurry out for a run or I could sit here reading on AgingCare, hmm .....

Cwillie,
Are you back from your run?

Would running in the rain be a good thing?

MsMadge and Sendhelp are conversing in code.  It is a guessing game.
(1)
Report

Since I'm not good at trivia I'm glad a little kitty sent me a clue to the code LOL.
I got my run in this morning before the rain started, I really need to squeeze in more exercise because I fill my extra time with snacks!
Running in the rain is only good if it is Summer warm and you are under 12 years old.
(4)
Report

We will find out this weekend about running in the rain, 1  1/4 miles.

Nah, Cwillie, you don't have to be under 12 years old, but these runners are only three years old.

Remember the song, "I like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain..."
Summer rain is best, you are right about that.
But drinking a virgin pina colada is only about 300 calories, and can be enjoyed at any age.   Lol.

MsMadge,
Nobody gets it? Except Cwillie is out of the running-no running in the rain!

Q. What is happening on Saturday, May 6th?

Anybody? Ali, Are you holding back? It's not the Cubs playing.
(2)
Report

Must be a derby. :)  Thee Derby, that is.

Ahh yes

The first Saturday in May is a high holy holiday - the two most exciting minutes in sports

I got the horse right here and there's a guy who says if the weather's clear, can do
Can do, the guy says the horse can do

(4)
Report

Busy week. We had Star Wars today May 4th. Cinco de Mayo May 5th. Gershun, I can certainly get on board No Diet Day! Thanks for letting us know. I've already brought on the chocolate. I am still having Easter candy.:-)

HA! I think that is the pot calling the kettle black. Didn't I read somewhere that you were putting your kindle in a drawer and going to bed??
(2)
Report

Yes, You all have been in the drawer all night!
My Mother would say to us three siblings, "You are all full of
pizz and vinegar" and that my brother was "made of
puppy dog tails." Lol.
But here I am, wide awake.
Did you all like it inside the drawer?
8:20 a.m.  It's Friday!
(3)
Report

Gershun,
I just started my diet yesterday, that is just plain cruel-did you make that up?
Bring it on, I can take a challenge! Besides, chocolate is allowed on my diet, just not so much. I take one square of a chocolate bar and put one in every hole of my seven-day pill minder.
One of my favorite books was: "Diets Don't Work".
(2)
Report

Didn't make that up Send! I was quite comfortable in your drawer. I would suggest next time keep it open a crack cause I had a little trouble breathing but otherwise it wasn't too bad. Oh yes, and someone's ankle was sticking into my side.

Report

Slept really well last night, with all of you nearby in the drawer, but lights were out.
And, today was the first day there were no major painful events!
So that is a relief for me. Went out to get the new supplements.
The M.D. who is a physiatrist was closed today. o well, Monday cannot come soon enough. Has anyone ever been to a physiatrist?

Gershun, Back in the drawer for you, and I will keep it open a bit. Sleep well!
You must be laughing yourself to sleep tonight. You have the best sense of humor!

Report

Also, Send, some ambient noise would be nice to block out others snoring.

Yeah, I've been. It was mandatory for anorexics if you wanted to be in the program. Can't say I'm a big fan..........but having said that I would never say to someone, don't try it. Whatever helps, Right?
(1)
Report

Sorry Gershun,
I have a tendency to stretch my legs out sideways while I sleep :)

The Kindle is going back in the drawer.
Goodnight dear friends.
Ambient noise? How about a trumpet race call?
(2)
Report

It's 10:30 a.m. and I am bored out of my frigging mind.
Go out into the cold for some fresh air? Meh.
Go to the store? I did the whole town yesterday, but I guess I could do the rounds again....
Phone a friend? Hm, where ARE all my friends? Lots of calls and emails the first few days after the move, but now silence; back to the status quo.
Go to see mom? That's always a good way to kill and hour but I know she always sleeps all morning. (of course now she also seems to sleep all afternoon, if I had to live there I would too)

send - proper sleep is soooo important. to our general well being and especially with CFS/FM. I really believe there is a connection between your good sleep and reduced pain. Reduce light and noise before bedtime. Well done, keep it up.

cw - time to develop a hobby - photography, join an online writing group, start a blog, take a course (there are some great freebies like Coursera), study to become a personal trainer, volunteer - the possibilities are endless and you have lots of talents.

Good morning, Kindle out of the drawer.
Thinking this through, gerd and fibromyalgia were diagnosed by symptoms only, 20+ years ago. No upper g.i., and one 15 minute visit: dx. by pressure points.

Send, probably time to revisit and maybe get an updated diagnosis. I finally made my mammogram appt. They've been sending me reminders in the mail every month. Both my Mom and Dad had cancer so I need to go every year. I don't actually find it as painful as some women do so I don't know why I constantly put it off.

CWillie, sorry you are bored. I guess that's one thing caregiving has going for it, you never have time for boredom. What did you enjoy doing once upon a time? Do you remember back that far? LOL
