Title: "Looking for (online) exercise buddies!"

That's the one!
I hope everybody is still motivated, we're into Feb now and for me those new year's resolutions are definitely starting to feel old.
9230 steps.... almost there.

I don't think I've taken 10,000 steps in the last month let alone one day. No wonder I feel sluggish. Is it too late to start my resolution?

It's surprising how the steps add up Gershun. Mind you I don't think the count is accurate, but it is consistent so it is an easy way to measure your activity (or lack of it) for the day.

Next time I go out to the car, I can count the steps myself.
Then multiply it by four.
= steps per day.

CWillie, does the fitbit count trips to the bathroom, or rolling over in bed?

I'm planning on doing some kind of workout today. We'll see if it ever gets past the planning stage.

My husband averaged over 12,000 steps each day of the recent big electronic trade show in Vegas on his business trip. He says it is super packed in Vegas for that event. He stays extremely busy.

When he clocked his steps he was a bit surprised how much he walked daily. That week is exhausting for him and he’s a fit guy. He was a track runner when he was in school. He still has the lean runner’s body.

He works in the Warehouse District, it’s adjacent to our central business district in New Orleans and he walks to lunch daily. It’s a very walkable section of our city.

Cwillie,

does the fitbit take into account the donut you got at Timmies? 😘

Well, I just came back here late tonight to make sure everyone got a"like".👍

I may need a fitbit soon. I forgot to count my steps to the car. And there were too too many fries to count at In N Out! 🍟🍟🍟

Did you wear your mask today, MsMadge?🎭

Good Morning, have you had your donut today?

Gershun,
If you start your exercise early in the morning, you will have all day to procrastinate.
I already did my diddly squats.

But really, how did your workout go yesterday?

With our health insurance, a gym membership (limited?) through Silver Sneakers was free. Anybody else have this?

The fitbit isn't counting my diddly squats Send.... 🤨

I actually did a workout yesterday
First time in two weeks. I'm sore today though.😫

Do not take this advice, but pineapple can decrease the pain caused by the buildup from lactic acid after exercise. It is contraindicated in many instances.
But I just cannot look it up again. 🍍

Going shopping?
Activity trackers, wireless-enabled wearable technology devices that measure data such as the number of steps walked, heart rate, quality of sleep, steps climbed, and other personal metrics involved in fitness.

That was such a thoughtful gift you received CWillie!

Hey CWillie,
Have you seen the DIY Bubble Quilts for babies/toddlers?
Cute to make for your niece maybe?

Send,

What’s a bubble quilt? I will have to google it. Have you made one?

Did you see it NHWM?

Send,

Yes, looks super comfy.

Those bubble quilts don't look very practical to me.... 🤔

Thanks to the good advice of people here I abandoned my knitted blanket and went with crochet. That also ran into a snag or two but on the whole crochet is much more forgiving and my baby blanket is finished - dusty rose with an off white picot border.

I never post here so I hope no one minds that I do so now.

It’s just that I’ve had two life changing events and my husband is failing to show the appropriate amount of awe and enthusiasm.

A couple of days ago I googled “How to change sheets on a split king adjustable bed”. I love love love “clean sheet night”. The first night on clean, crisp sheets. Newly clean sheets actually rates pretty high up on my list of Pleasures in Life, in general.

But with my bad back, changing the sheets on our split king is a real pain - nearing an ordeal...

So, just out of curiosity I googled it.
OMG! The solution was so brilliant and so easy - it nearly took my breath away. When I think back in the last several years fighting with this chore and then seeing such an easy remedy - I feel both amazed AND stupid. But overall - happy.

So, then I thought “Why not? Let’s take this for a ride...” and I googled “How to fold a fitted sheet”.

I watched a two minute video twice and voila! I tried it and it was so easy! The sheet folded near perfect.

It’s seems that all the answers in life can be found on either Google or YouTube. Utterly amazing!!!

cwille,

I think the bubble quilts are cute and look comfy but I wonder if a baby could suffocate if they turned over face down on it, since it so fluffy.

I'm so excited and nobody is home to share it with - I just got a text that my nephew (bro's son) got engaged on Valentine's day. 😄💕

This is a different nephew MsM, I'll call him nephew#4.
The one who moved away (nephew#2) and his GF are still carrying on with their long distance relationship. He's really racking up the air miles 😶.

Speaking of blankets I bought a weighted blanket for my hubs. If you have never heard of these they are good for people with autism but also for anyone with anxiety issues which causes insomnia in some people. When hubs went away I used his and I found it helped so he got me one for my Birthday. It does work although I can't use it for the whole night cause I get too hot.

Congrats to your nephew Willie!

Rainmom, about 3 years ago, I finally learned how to fold a fitted sheet. For years, it drove me crazy trying to fold it neatly. I eventually just sloppily folded it and then stuffed into the blanket case. Then one day, while surfing the web, I decided to google how to fold a fitted bedsheet. Walla! I've been folding it that way ever since. Who would have thought, right???
