I am expecting a new great-niece sometime toward the end of Feb and I haven't done anything about a gift for her - I made a quilted blanket for floor play for my little g-nephew (well, that's what it ended up as anyway 🤣). I really need to get my azz in gear. I've got a few skeins of dusty rose yarn in my stash so I'm thinking maybe a knit blanket - if I can remember how. It will have to be something fast and easy because I haven't made anything in decades.

Oh this crazy weather. Couple days ago it was 60 degrees here in the Wash DC area which is 20 degrees above normal.... now we may get a light dusting of snow this weekend. Well, ya, it is winter, let it snow :)

Makes it tough to know what to wear. Especially at work when last Friday I walked in the thermostat stated 99 degrees due to a faulty control. Even the M&M's were starting to melt. But it did bring back memories of walking into my parents house :P

My teeth were getting bad because of the water I drank where I grew up. Before I could have my heart surgeries I had to have all of my dental work done. I opted for dental implants. It was a lengthy process and expensive, but it’s done. I go every six months And have my teeth and gums cleaned. But at least I know they can’t find anything else wrong.

Even the bathroom in our new location has sensor lights. One can't bring in a magazine or they would be literally sitting in the dark.

There was a sensor as we enter our office suite that would light up the suite's hallway. I timed it, it would go off in 15 minutes if there was no movement in the hallway. So I would go out into the hallway and wave my arms like I am bringing an airplane to it's gate. It got so annoying that I had building management put in an old fashioned light switch. Whew, what a relief.

Wish management would replace the other sensor lights. We know how to turn on and off a regular light switch :)

OMG FF I don’t think I could work in a place like that! How distracting! I mean today I got so annoyed at my car because I was backing out in the Costco parking lot and I was at the end of the aisle and the seat keep vibrating and buzzing when the sensors detected a car driving past me! Driving next to my spot, not behind it, so there was plenty of room for me to back out and go on my way and this damn car kept buzzing me!

but on the other hand, those are great safety features for office buildings!

OMG that is also our new parking garages in Baltimore,, the lights come on and off as you walk past them. And we get alerts all the time about "active shooter in XYZ parking garage" all the time. Yep,, light me up as I run to my truck!

pamzimmrrt, our office just moved to a new location, a much newer building. Our previous building was built in 1945 and it was solid. Tenants could be moving furniture and we could barely hear a thing, and definitely didn't feel a thing.

Well, the new location I can "feel" whenever someone is walking in the office next to ours. There is this vibration in the floor. I can even tell when the UPS guy is out in the main hallway. When it rains, we can hear it on the roof. The old building, not. And those darn senor lights, where I find myself sitting in my office in the dark :P

Madge,

I saw her years ago here in New Orleans. She does have a pretty voice.

She performed at the 1984 World’s Fair. She arrived very late for the concert. Not sure why she was late. She did not offer an apology. She got booed.

After the concert finally started it was good.

What about the moms who had weird dreams? My mom would start screaming in her dreams and wake me up out of a dead sleep! I would have to go wake her and tell her she was having a nightmare, screaming to the top of her lungs. It was awful. None of us slept well.

Yes I take Melatonin on some nights. There are nights I have weird dreams. It may be due to medication or also alot of stress I have had in my life recently. Moving and health issues. Some nights I do not have dreams despite taking medication. It's not great to have these dreams but worse for me to have successive nights with little sleep. I have a very sympathetic doctor. If your doctor isn't in this area I would try to find one that is. They are out there.

Anyone on here have experience with melatonin? I took one tonight to help me sleep but woke up twice with bad dreams.

I'm running out of options if this doesn't work. Ativan used to help me but of course my doc won't prescribe it anymore even though I was taking the lowest dose.

I'm glad that at least the pain is gone MsM. I was unkind to my teeth in my youth and my molars are all filled and refilled so I sometimes worry over what comes next, there are so many pros and cons to consider about things like root canals not to mention the expense. There were a lot of toothless elders in my life who seemed to manage just fine, I sometimes wonder if that isn't the better option.
(3)
Report

Madge, I sympathize. I just went through a process trying to save a tooth. They fitted me with a temporary crown but when I went back to get the permanent one they discovered I needed a root canal.

I finally have it done but it was an ordeal.

Report

Well, I'm not sure yet

ended up needing an emergency root canal, so the horric pain is gone, but there was a complication during the procedure

the endo my dentist wanted me to see couldn't take me til Monday, and I couldn't take the pain any longer, so I went to second choice - don't know if it would have made a difference -

I return to dentist next week for his thoughts on saving the tooth now

Thanks, I went back to dentist today for a cleaning which I do every 3 months anyway - still in pain though - they say maybe a bruise or a crack that can't be seen yet - it's odd that it started after having the molar above it refilled last month after the silver filling fell out - I'm hopng it quiets down - I go to the ear Doctor next week
