Glad tidings caregivers!!!! Rip, HA HA Sept 15th??? OK. It must be wed.....oh yah..took mom to foot doc...must be wed. She was a good girl for the second day in a row!!! Internist tomorrow & I'm taking odds on whether we will cuss each other out after 3 days in a row. lol The belts my aunt used were like old razor straps with a double pronged buckle, but the weight lifter/anti-hernea belts the guys use would work. A harness would be even better. I've seen the stock folks at the grocery stores with them on. Maybe a carpenters/carhart type vest with straps added? You could check the Duluth catalog. Great idea AGAIN girl. Thanks for the sunflower info for the finches. Thistle is EXPENSIVE. The little chickadees (black capped vultures) are eating out of our hands at the park again. We had a little cold snap & they are re-training us for winter now. lol. Getting a little squirrely around your place? lol. Hub calls them "tree rats" but we love 'em & feed 'em too. We have black, brown, red & gray with white tail & bellies. A real melting pot.
Pirate, They put the recent/prev 5 on the top of the page for us!!!! Good call dear. I love it already. Maybe my mouse will last a little longer. lol
BGB, Sorry your mom is being abusive to you. Hope her behavior improves. Peace to you in all your endevors.
Miz, By all means go to the traffic school. That way they won't/shouldn't nail you extra on your auto insurance for points. They charge too much already.
Angie, Have a Wonderful respite weekend!!!!!!
Peach, Keep checking into the meds 'til you get what you need. It takes awhile before we find the right balance. Healing & wholeness to you.
Tenn, Diane, Rosella where are U?
Hub & I finished our full contact gardening. Got a "squirrel proof" feeder. Ha, as if there is such a thing! Lady at the checkout said "a man" probably designed it (not in a nice way). We chuckled. Got more verbena on sale for $1.00 & going to plant them at the park (supposed to be deer resistant & attrack butterflies).
Have you seen Mike McGroatry's site? How to propegate plants * sell at yard sales? I don't ever plan to sell , but his info is good. Lives in ... Ohio? Somewhere far from me. Seems like a good gardening guy.
I have Canna's all over the place! Tropical, broad leaf, beautiful! Different from the standard evergreen trees that grow to block my view! I love trees, just not in my neighbor's yard where they overgrow & the roots enter their basement. They'll learn soon enough ...
I wish you & you husband with camera were here! Hummingbuirds everywhere! Did I send you the link about the guy who lives on Snoqualmie Summit? Has Hummers year around. Google: Hyak Hummingbirds. Fascinating!
So how do we go about starting the Red Cat Society? So many orphan cats ... so many eldery laps ...
CC, I don't think any of us would blame you at all! You gotta take care of you!!! We're here for you!
Thank you, everybody for your care, concern, advice & encouragement! Have had a difficult day today. Feel like I'm losing it big time. I even called the Wellbutrin doctor to see if I could even see her to get something for the anxiety, but no luck. Figures!
Hope you all are having a great night! Love you guys & talk to you tomorrow!
CC Do what you have to do to preserve your sanity! You've done all you can. Castoff, your garden must be beautiful. Got any pictures? Pirate asked me to let you all know she is well and has been very busy at work with many new orders, so she is pretty busy and will stop by when she can. Angie, sounds like a fun day. I promise, you'll never get bored!!! I hope everyone else here has a peaceful night and a quiet day ahead.
You are so right RIP, we are not SPAM, although dad loves that SPAM in a can stuff, and he loves mayonaise. One night before got to this point, when he was still able to walk, he got up in the middle of the night and at a Banana with mayonaise on it..... OMG, now that is gross. lol lol lol. Oh yeah and he would get up and eat whatever candy he could find, and we wouldnt know until we vacummed behind the furniture .. where the wrappers were... Ok one more ...... We would find his pills all over, and stashes of cigarettes too....... The stuff he would pull, now he chooses just to pass the gas when I am cleaning his but, he is just so good to me..... lol lol Hope everyone is having a good night. I am off to shower and relax finally, going to my doc tomorrow, just my normal every 3 months to be sure i have gone off the deep end, i tell him everytime i go.... Sometimes i just feel homicidal suicidal or just plain insane. lol lol.... He just smiles and shakes his head....... I lost my insurance when i left my job but i have applied for the state insurance, so keep the fingers crossed..... until then i pay out of pocket. I have a wonderful doc, so its worth it to me. Speaking of i have lost some of the earlier posts. GP how are you making out with your doc's last i recall, everything was a wait and see....... i have thought of finding a diff doc? With all that your feeling, they should have been able to help you, doctors honestly as bad as atty's ..... lol Hope you make out ok, I will for your posts. Ok my online family ,, sweet dreams and huger than huge hugs to alll... Angie
just cleaned my moms apartment and found soiled depends in the fridge & freezer. She says she didn't want her home to smell. I'm not eating there every again...so grossed out and she's fine with it!
ShimmyPrincess .. you may not know it but you just joined our group!
Beware ... do not try eating while reading this thread. I learned that a while back. Don't log on while trying to enjoy a meal. The topics are Real... The people Are Real! The topic of ElderCare is Real!
Commecial is over. You need to throw out soiled diapers she stashed in the freezer? YUCK! Sorry for you! I hope they were frozen solid without too much stench.. Gag ....
Angie... you are dealing with too much crap! I wish I could say more, but I just cleaned up a trail of sh*t in the hallway. Dad had a shower. Took forever ... me standing by. Came downstairs for a Redhook beer & a breath of fresh air. This life is pathetic sometimes ...
And just when life couldn't get any better, my husband calls. He just called from work to tell me that the car dealership where he works has just been sold!!! No warning from the owners!!! Now we won't know if he still has a job or not. Supposedly the new owners will be taking over in a week or 2. Guess what? He's on vacation next week. He won't even be there to find out if he still has a job!!! ShitShit! and more Shit!!!!
Crap is not the word, shi# is more like it, for real. lol The days are long and tiring for sure. We are all dealing with the same stuff i guess. Dad and I told mom that her bewitching hour is between 6 and 7 pm. Actually more like 5-7 but she has been good this week, She has been going to bed earlier, which is good, and then I put pop to bed, both in bed before 9, then my party begins. Have the apt across the hall almost done. My daughters room is all set and i am working on bedroom now, the living is done, don and i will be painting it. going for beach house theme. Since i love the ocean. So i guess for me, this has been a decent week, so major issues except for the norm. Can not wait for sat, whoo hoo........ leaving at 7 am and not returning until late sunday afternoon.... PARTY PARTY LOL LOL........ beback pops is ringing...... love you all hugs angie
Good Morning, Everyone. I haven't read all of your posts but I will try to later. I woke up with a headache/tiredness this morning after about 9 1/2 hours of sleep. Mom got up once during the night. I think it's tension. Tension in my life. Can't relax.
Hey Miz, Have you tried excedrin tension for the headache. I get severe migraines, when i am under alot of stress, ok when arent i lol lol.. so i know all about headaches....Hope your head feels better... Hugs Angie
Miz, sorry about your headache! Maybe you aren't used to getting so much sleep!!! Pirate is fine. She asked me to tell everyone she is very busy at work and will catch up later. Her Mom has been cooperating this week! Will wonders never cease!
deef, you didn't say what your husband does at the car dealership. We're just gonna believe that he still has a job! The new owners still have to have employees! They can't do everything theirselves, right? This could be a good thing! We have a friend whos company was bought out by another company & they automatically got raises & other benefits to bring them up to the new parent company's standards! Hope you & your husband will still be able to enjoy next week on vacation with your day trips & not worry about the job! Everything's gonna be ok!
rip, what a mess with the stuff down the hallway! yuck! That must have happened after we got off of FB.
angie, sounds like your new digs are coming right along! I like the beach theme, too. Makes you feel like you're on vacation all year! Post some photos when you get it done. Hope your day will be easier!
Waiting for the doc's office to call & tell me to go pick up my new antibotic...
GP, he is the dispatcher in the garage, and coordinates the work and the mechanics. He decides who does what and when to expedite the work efficiently. It's a tough job, and one no one else likes to do when he is on vacation. Lots of planning and knowledge involved. Sure hope it's good enough to keep him in a job. I guess we'll have to deal with a health insurance change again too. Always something to add to the stress levels. Got to love it!!!
OMG deefer. That sucks so bad. I hope and prayer that your husband's job is secure. Thanks for the news about Pirate.
My headache is pretty much gone. Took my meds and 3 Advil and that seems to be helping. I'm gonna tell my doc I need 4 anxiety pills a day instead of the two he has me on. Whatever gets me through the days and nights I gotta do. Angie, maybe I'll get some of the Excedrin Tension and try it. Thanks for the suggestion. :)
Angie, it sounds like you are making great progress. I really hope you enjoy your time away. Try not to worry about anything but having fun and relaxing.
angie, i sure hope you can get that state insurance. Mine is through the State of Illinois but it ain't free by a long shot. I hope yours is a better deal. I will think good thoughts.
castoff, I have my paperwork ready to turn in for the traffic school. I gotta get the cash today and take it downtown tomorrow. You're so right. I don't want my insurance going up. It's so high already. This is something I don't get. Why do insurance rates goes up even though the car value goes down????
hi there my shipmate folks ! ckin in to see how everybodys doing . tenison exedrine is the best . 15 mins bam headaches gone . shimmey .. oh noooo sorry about ur mom s depend ! lucky u found them whew ! welcome to this site ! wonderful ladies here ! deefer hope somebody puts in a good word for ur hubby while he s on vacation so he;ll still have his job when he come's back . dad s been whiney , think uti is back . he looks pale in the face and so weak . he just finish his antibodi few wks ago and dr tested his piss and it cam eback clear . this morning this whole house smells like amonia . bettin uti is back again . :-( need to take him to speicalist which i have done that few times , dad turns the dr down about stickin scope thru his penis . so i feel like im wasting our time and enegry to tak ehim to speicalist , knowing dad will growl at him and say no ! bobbie , i sure hope that ingor doesnt come and visit ya ! saw that on the news lastnight . damn hurriacan season ! alrighty my dog is barking , she wants to go sit out in the front . xoxoox
Back in the ER today. He's back in congestive failure. Poor guy. He tries so hard to do the right thing and still has this problem. He had his aortic valve replaced in January with the hopes that this wouldn't happen. I guess we should be happy it doesn't happen more often. Hope everyone else has a better day than I!
CC, I too have been kicked by Mom, and hit, and she's wiped sh!t on me! She was never a bad Mom, but now she gets so frustrated because she can't say or do what she wants. I treat her like a child and scold her and make sure she knows she can't do things like that, but in the end, she doesn't even remember it happening. They do sometimes get more violent as the disease progresses. That is why they have lock-down in Alz. units. It's for their protection and everyone else. If you can no longer feel safe with her, maybe it's time to place her. Sorry to say, but we will all probably have to make that decision some day. Good luck! Kuli, sorry you are at the ER again. It's so frustrating!
Yeah, and my sister JUST told me she is not in town tonite or tomorrow. Nice how well she communicates. Says I should let her know if anything changes with his condition. This with her knowing that dad gets very confused when in the hospital so guess I'll be camping out here for a few days with no relief. I get so tired of doing it all alone. Sorry, feeling a little sorry for myself right now.
Linda, Sister, it sounds like you've got your hands full. I'm so sorry that your Dad is having such problems. I know that it makes you sad to see him this way. And then to have to deal with a MIL & BIL coming again & the problems with the MIL...how in the world are you doing it?
Bobbie, I agree with Linda that I hope Ingor misses you! How are you & Nik doing? You guys are still in our thoughts!
Shimmy, Welcome to the thread! This is the happening place to be! WHEW about the depends in the freezer & the fridge!
miz, I'm glad that you're going to the driving school. Let us know how it turns out. Lots better than your insurance going up...And I agree that I don't understand how insurance premiums keep going up when the value of the car goes down! What gives insurance companies?? Do we need to add them to the same group as lawyers & doctors?
deef & rip, glad to know that Rossella's ok & it was just a modem malfunction. I miss hearing her antics!
Still no call from the doctor about the new antibotic, so I called them & they said that they'd call me back. They close in 35 minutes so it will probably be tomorrow before I get the new meds! And they close at 1:00 tomorrow! GGRRRrrrrr...There's gotta be a better system!!!
