Well, 2 nights in a row, Mom and bed are wet in the first 2 hours of bedtime! Guess I'll be doing laundry first thing tomorrow. Wish me luck on the next 2 days. Hubby on vacation, and Merry off. Mom at daycare from 9 to 3, so that leaves us about 5 1/2 hours to do something, then it's Mom duty again! Merry and her daughter are splitting Friday up so we will have from 9am to 7pm to take off for the day! Hopefully that will make up for the next 2 days. Tenn, Don't know what to tell you.On the one hand, enough is enough! On the other, they already took everything else away from you, so go get the f"ers! In the end, it boils down to how much more you think you can take. I wish you luck and will be here to support whatever you choose to do. Mary, Glad we could make your day a good one. Angie. Sorry your ex is such an ass to his own daughter! What is wrong with him? No wonder he is your ex!
Rats! Was trying to post to Miz! Things blew up! Finally found the post page.
I think we should learn who Georgia Peach's doctor is & offer input about truly caring for a human being. Flood that place with posts from all over the country. If nothing else, the narciussic lady might feel important. She certainly doesn't seem to have compassion otherwise.
My Dad's young ER doctor said: "First do NO Harm".
I'll send a professionally made sign to the place if I find out where it is.
Angie, thanks! What happened when you went off of Wellbutrin? I'm supposed to take one a day for four days & then just stop...What in the world am I in for????
Hugs Rip for the thought of a sign for her! My luck if I told y'all who she is & y'all contacted her I probably be sued for liable & def. of character! It will probably be the first of the week before I can get to the post office, but please don't give up on me!
tennessee...wow...I dunno...how much is your sanity worth to you? It would almost be worth it, if you had the fight in you, to make her hold on to her bootstraps! Today I don't have much fight left. I like Linda's advice!
Rossella, I like your suggestion to AC about us being able to go back to a previous page & not lose what we've already written. Hopefully they'll listen to your suggestion!
Thank y'all again for your kindness & patience with me! Y'all are pretty darn special!!!!!
Everything at once...Screwy doctors can really ruin your life if you aren't careful I'd say shop around for a new one definitely...and for Tenn, pass on anymore lawsuit, do you want to be deeper in a hole and still digging this time next year? Lawsuits can drag and it will just follow you for month and months. If you can end it I would go ahead and do so.
the only stuff here is the on going hassle new dr appt and my moms losing her mind from all the stress...so of course it all lands on me...Whatever, it will end sooner or later....It HAS to.
deef, when I had my day care, I kept my grandson too & he had a habit of sticking his hands in his diaper when he had pooped & would smear it wherever. This would happen during naptime while he was in his crib...Little scamp was fast about it too! After him doing that a couple of times I figured out to put tape all the way around his diaper, just on the diaper & not on his skin. Not too tight to restrict him, but tight enough not to be able to get his hands down in there. (I did check him on a regular basis to see if he needed to be changed.) Do you think that might work with your Mom? Is she tearing the depends or pulling them down?
Just a thought...Could you give her something like a balled up sock or something soft...a washcloth maybe, to hold in each hand to distract her from tearing it? Something with some texture to it like a chammos cloth or fleece or chenille...washable if they do get wet, too!
Or could you put socks or soft footies on her hands like mittens so she couldn't grasp the depends? Nothing too tight that would bind or cord her hands, Maybe even some soft, thin white gloves like the kids in marching bands or policemen wear directing traffic. You can usually find them at a men's wear store where they sell or rent tuxedos. Might be a bonus if she gets cold at night.
We'll keep brainstorming...somebody will come up with something that will work! It'll be ok!!!
Linda, this latest drama has nothing to do with my brothers,it has to do with a neighbor taking advantage, while I was going through the ordeal.I looked up this womans business on the computer the revenues grossed more than 350,000,000 dollars.I'm actually wondering if the media could help with this one, considering who they are.Businesses don't like bad publicity. Some folks sure like to kick you when you are already down.
tennessee, you have got to do what is right for you. If you feel strong enough, I would fight. People can be such a@#holes. I don't get it.
I'm seriously going to talk to the publisher at the newspaper where I work about a column having to do with care giving. I wouldn't make it personal for me, except for the good stuff. Just care giving in general and what we face day to day and our frustrations, etc. I think it's time for something like this. Care givers, imo, keep their tribulations to themselves. I think something like this could help people. What do you all think? I think I would need to write a column and present it to him when I talk to him about it. It's a scary proposition for me.
Miz, you will need about 6 weeks of columns to get the editor's attention. Glance through your paper and eyeball the columns that are already there and get an approx. word count. I/We will help you write them. no Stress. Between all of us there's more material than drag queens have taffeta.
angie has a BOAT!?!?! sweet.
sorry.... it figures that I read about everyone's trials and tribulations and remember the boat.
Happy Belated Bday to Rip the Stitch!!
OK: Castoff!! Deef, Flex, Miz, Rip, Tenny, Linda, GP, Kuli, JoJo, Pirate, Maxine, the whole gang..here it comes.......
CAT ON BOARD!!
They trapped this feral 2-3 month old kitten and were ready to take it to the shelter and I put the cage on the picnic table and sat down and asked the cat if she/he wanted to live on a boat. Cat reached out and hooked me a good one which I took to mean yes so now cage and all is on the boat and my pet kid's mom (who says hi back to Tenny and Tenny Jr.) is out getting the necessary items as in cat box and some food and toys and I asked specifically for catnip figuring I'd get the cat addicted to a good time immediately. Leaving the cat in the cage for this minute and he/she is comfortable and snoozing. This is a calm boat. Cat was ping ponging all over the cage and everybody said it was a mean cat because it already bit someone this am and I just took notice of all the noise, weed wacker was going and everybody's all yakking and saying nothing so Patty and I took the cage and put it on the shot rug (Tenny.. remember the stains in front of the deep freezer?) and we have left the cat alone and cat is happy. sound asleep. A/C is running and the boat is purring and the cat is relaxed. Now I have to get it spayed, shot, fleas etc. and it will cost a lot more than the 30 bucks that the shelter cats go for. That's the way it is. The cat didn't 'stroll down the dock', but I strolled UP the dock and there it was. path of least resistance and God provides a Cat.
Got a big dog crate from one of the other boaters that I'm going to clean out and move kitty from cage to crate. probably going to have to use a big bath towel so I don't get my a$$ handed to me.
Need to get a collar with a bell. That's the secret for a cat on a boat. need to know where that sucker is.
Now the cat's shooting me the stink eye. Maybe it doesn't like the idea of a collar with a bell. Tuff titty for the kitty.
but what if he/she lives up to their name? Nauty! leave that tomcat alone!! Nauty! stop licking the butter! Nauty! run out and pick me up a pint of Jack!
love you so much Miz.
Nik just said: Alex. Alex the Cat. Kind of like Felix the Cat.
We're taking a nice beam wind and rocking ever so slightly.
miz, great idea! And sure, like Bobbie said, we'll all help you! Anything that we can do to make this kind of life easier on any caregiver!
Bobbie, LOVED the drag queen in taffeta!!! Glad that you've been adopted by our mascot! You've got such a big heart! Hey, if he were a fraidy cat you could call him Chicken of the Sea! lol You'll come up with the right name! Their personalities can lend a hint to what they should be called. OH, what does he look like? Don't be surprised if the cat nip doesn't work. It didn't on a couple of cats that have owned me, but then I've had some that caressed it & made love to it! We call cat nip Kitty Cocaine! Fun to watch 'em get their fix!
Good news on the horizon!!! I slept for 4 hours straight last night & only had to get up 3 times!!! And I'm feeling the best today that I've felt in, well, it's been too long to remember! Thank God for that shot yesterday!
And even better news...Tomorrow is the day that we go to Vanderbilt!!! I'm SO thankful that the UTI is feeling better so I can take better care of hubs on the trip! Please keep us & his new doctor in your prayers/thoughts.
Hi Sailorettes, It was my b-day on Friday....went to the LA County Fair...for my b-day...had a great time!
Feral cat that claws at ya....yowl...ouch...watch out for Cat Scratch Fever! I don't really like cats...and I thought they did not like the water...but heck he/she may adapt! Its going to take some doing to tame a feral down. I know dogs inside out and am more comfortable with them...I know what makes doggies tick!
Drag Queen in purple velvet? Did you folks catch Prince Poppycock on America's got Talent. I just love him...I am going to try to keep up with his goings on here in Hollywood.
What's going on with Tennessee, someone being a turd to her in the biz of life? Sorry have not been on here. Trying to get caught up with a new program.
Sigh why does Mommy Dearest have to be so gross, last night when I came over, I was wondering why there was a string of toliet paper wrapped around the bathrooms door knob. First disposed of all excess paper and made the toliet paper roll look normal. Then flushed a horseload of poo (always a ton in the toitey from her..man o man a ton of poo- I'm serious)...took a while to get rid of all the poo and had to finish with a good wipe job. Then when leaving Mommy Dearest's house I said a last good night and tucked her covers all around here and found more toliet paper hanging out of her sweat pants...traced all of that down and flushed all that down. She is the Queen of Poop.....I swear. I was thinking when I was sitting in the patio...all she does is eat, poo and demand...just like a baby....as they always say we go back to how we were when as babies...no flippin' kidding. I had to laugh about it!
Hi Pirate, Hope things are going better there..... I'd like to think the aging process is like a baby to child to kid developmental phase but backwards, but the fact is unlike children and predictable growth and achievement pattern one really never knows how long the aging person is going to be at a particular stage of devolution...A few weeks six months ... years??? That is part of the pain involved i feel There is NO true demarcation line or "End In Sight" Next stage coming...You could be having a two year old for ten years, a 160 pound two year old with opinions and moods and temper related issues unlike anything see in a rug rat...
That's scary when you really think about it. i have one that fine one day and the next she's is a little kid, to think that could last for years. she keeps telling me she's going to live til 100 for some reason she likes that number. she's in good health she could out live me. today i called home to speak with the caregiver, she told me she had not see Shirley (the caregiver) while Shirley was in the wash room which is out back. but get this Shirley had given her breakfast, and dressed her. Some days she as shrap as a tack other day i just don't know, and that could last a long time. Vary Scary
My grandfather has a book in his room (my room) that says "Three steps a day to live to be 120." I'll kill myself first.... Every time he goes to the doctor and gets a clean bill of health (well sort of) I cringe...Healthy as a horse? Horses back side...maybe a Diabetic, incontinent, crabby, delusional horse....
He does go up and down here, like some I don't find he is one way one day and another the next, I am not sure what Those cases are? Dementia?
Hey Pirate! Another birthday girl! Happy, Happy belated. I was overwhelmed yesterday when I received so many wonderful birthday wishes. I guess it's in my profile. I'm one who is honest with her age.
Plus I share a birthday with Stephen King, Fannie Flagg, Larry Haggaman, Rikki Lake & some other noteable people. *I wish I could write like Fannie Flagg ...
Hear Ye All ... sounds like Peach is better today!
Whew! I was about to research her hospital & send some email their way. Kaye, I bet many people are messed up with the treament they've received. Maybe someday you can hop aboard a class action suit? Keep records! Document everything. Print it & hold it safe.
Bobbie ... Cap'n bob ... with kitty! Do we know if its a he or she? To be honest, with the dozens+ cats who have passed thru my lifetime, I still have a hard time telling. Hate to pull up the tail & interupt their dignity.
Most have arrived fixed. Your right about the $ involved. Shelter cats are a good deal when all is considered. Little kitty will let you know if you're a match.
Some of you know about my little black feral. Her ear is cropped confirming it. She has lived on a high shelf in my office for over 5 years. Doesn't like other cats ... or people, at first. Then late at night when I'm in the office, she'll come down & rub all over me purring. Poor lonely kitty! I feel so bad for her, but she is not an easy cat. Lately I've been bringing her up to Dad. She'll cuddle under his arm purring, he'll coo & talk with her ... she's been there the last hour.
Anyway Bobbie ... keep us in on the kiity! You have the advantage of finding him/her near water. Good for boat kitties. I must admit my tag name "Ripley" come from a cat. A cowboy kitten. Ripley~Rabbit (he hopped out of his crate, thus the 'rabbit' addition to his name.) is very smart.
Many times I have noticed him using my toilet. Honest! First time I was showering & I saw him perched on the toilet seat with that stern, faraway look on his face. You know the one animals always use as they do their business? Looked later & sure enough, he had pissed.
I'd suggest he flush but have y'all seen the You Tube video of the cat flushing the toilet, for about 10 minutes! Wish I could post it. So funny! Google 'cat flushing toilet' & you might find it. Something about the water bill being high.
Pine Pellet litter is best. Dry Den. $6 for a 35lb bag. FLush or bag the hard stuff, use the rest as mulch.
rip, actually I'm feeling better the last couple of days. Work is okay. I generally feel like I've worked 8 hours instead of 4. That paycheck sure feels good though and it's nice to be in "another world" for awhile the days I work. :)
.I try to imagine being out in the world again! You're lucky! I hope.
I've always been a loner. Jobs where I was alone in a patrol car, driving a bus, around people - yet not. Having some kind of control & position.
My sign shop too. People stopped in way too often. I embraced it, still needed time to make the product. People often referred to my shop as a social club. Tho I had deadlines which they didn't realise.
Friday nights especially! My friends & clients would gather about 5 PM. Drink some beer or wine, play with designs on the computer, come up with great ideas & watch me create them! Great fun!!! usually ... sometime i was tired ....
I had a wonderful view of the sun setting over the Olympic Mountain range from my shop.
One couple even got married after meeting there! That was way out of my control!
Caregiving doesn't offer control of anything!
I feel I have lost any control of what I am having to do now ... simply doing my work, cleaning the house, seeing friends? (HA!) Mary Interrupted. Life is all about Dad! His needs, his meds, his bowel movements ... his TV programs!
You with ALZ parents? I honestly don't know how you cope.
Rip, Having no control over my life really does suck! The worst part is the fact that my husband got dragged into this mess too! He's 62 and expected us to be free at this point in life. Unfortunately that all changed 4 years ago, and he is a part of my nightmare too! Bobbie, Hope Kitty loves his/her new digs. Give her time to get used to things. Ignore her and let her make the next move. Yes it is expensive to get them tested to make sure they are not diseased, etc., but in the long run, that baby will be happy that you rescued it. Miz, glad to hear you are feeling better! Think it's the lower dosage doing it? Your column would be a big help to us caregivers. Don't give up on the idea. Pirate, Mom and toilet paper, what can I say! We don't usually let her wipe anymore. Too Messy! Get's it on her fingers and me if I try to take it away. Hate it when that happens! Go through bags of Walmart wipees! She's been in bed for an hour, but still rearranging the blanket! Hope she stops soon. She's probably soaked already! Hopefully she won't have crap all over her tonight too!!
HEY my wonderful family. It has been so busy here. sorry have not had a chance to get on here much..... but know that each and everyone on of you are in my thouughts always.... Well the sister is slowly but surely moving in on things...... I just know that there is going to be a legal battle sooner than later....... hugs and lots of love to my family here online.... thank you... you all have made this job much easier than i could have ever imagined if you can understand that.... angie
deef, I went back to the regular higher dosage. I don't think I can do a lower dosage. I was too angry. I've been sleeping less and I think that's better. Hubby woke me up at 6:30 and I really wasn't ready to get up but I'm glad I did. We'll see how it goes. :)
Miz, We gotta do what we gotta do to keep sane! Feeling good during the day, is worth the hazy mornings. I know that I don't always get enough ZZz"s to wear off the requip. But I wake up as the morning goes on! Angie, Can't wait for the day when a couple of my sibs try to start sh!t with me! $ of the six are on my side when it comes to Mom and her assets. The other 2 will have a hell of a time trying anything funny, But I still think There will be stuff to contend with in the end. Make sure you have Mom lawyer up and get everything in order and signed off on before they can have her deemed incompetent.

Names?
Rank is Able Seacat.
no serial number....

Hugs to all...
It was my b-day on Friday....went to the LA County Fair...for my b-day...had a great time!
Looking forward to more posts tonight!
cheers ~
the Rip
I;ve been wondering how you're feeling ...
Is work going OK?
Maybe you should call the kitty Shanghai since you did kind of capture it and put it on board the boat.
I'm cooking dinner so I'll be back later.
Love ya's
Diane
(HA!)
Mary Interrupted.
Life is all about Dad!
His needs, his meds, his bowel movements ... his TV programs!
You with ALZ parents? I honestly don't know how you cope.
It's tough! All of you know!
Lets keep laughing here!
Hopefully she won't have crap all over her tonight too!!
hugs and lots of love to my family here online.... thank you... you all have made this job much easier than i could have ever imagined if you can understand that.... angie
