Cat has found that the bar sink in front of the big window fits perfectly. Takes bath in sink. Where else would you wash? I look out at the river and see a hind foot stickin straight up. Nice.
A dolphin just took a breath next to the boat. Large schools of baitfish are being chased by the dolphin. They turn on the top of the water and all of a sudden you hear and see an entire section of river spash and change color.
Think of the boat Miz. We're going to have a great time. Boat Drinks! i need to go online and get some of those little umbrellas.
good morning you all . was meaning to say something the other day about the cat sticks its paw in the water and lick the paw to slurp water . my sis in law said that her cat cant see water for some reason . guess its common that cats cant see water . my sis in law s cat would get in the bath tub and meowwwwww and she would let the water tinkle and cat would slurp water that way . but wont drink out of a bowl cuz she doesnt think theres water in there . that explains why u step in water bowl 3 times hahaha , bobbie i hope ur cat can see the ocean !

Miz! you were the 4800th post! You win a prize! Bet you know what it is!! Even better, you won it for you and everybody here on the thread! BOATTIME.
don't forget that you all are heros. It just is. Everybody is coping with such awful stuff and you all are doing it with extreme grace even when you think you're not. Don't forget that.
Contractor just here..gonna be more of a job than appeared if we have to go side to side, but oh well, he has the money period!
He is full time in wheel chair now...and L is right he will just gone boom and he is down...
I am playing drafting here seeing if we took out a bush if straight would work either way by code we have to have stairs so they can't just go...This house I swear nothing fits....
Goodafternoon Ladies, Bobbie, Learning lots of kitty idiosyncracies? lol. Our cat Shutup has plenty. Tells me all about everything all the time. Demando cat. Unlike most cats, he lays spread eagle on his back & wants us to rub his big guts. A little embarassing when we have company but he's not shy. He tucks us in every night & lays cheek-to-cheek with me (kitty motor running). It can be deafening when they're that close. Can't hear hub snoring. lol
Nice ideas.....Chopsticks would definately slow one down for a meal. lol soup!.....Christmas tree recycled as bird sanctuary in the yard. Shutup won't allow us to have a tree. Years ago I had 2 cats that took great joy in delicately removing the glass bulbs from the tree & rolling them to the top of the stairs...you guessed it, they loved to watch them pop when pushed over the edge! ALWAYS string the lights from side to side & not wrap them around the tree....another horror story. Ever seen a tree spin like a top? lol
Wraping up the garden for the season...once again forgot the soap under the nails thing...maybe later today. 2 more shrubs to plant & mulch to spread out. Muscles were real tight after last assault on the garden. We had to cut a deceased pine, rip out some ivy & planted 3 false cypress I found on sale. I like the Asian look of the cypress and as soon as we clear out a big spot would like to put in a Canadian Hemlock...they're gorgeous!! Our yard is in a constant state of change.
Mom wants to bring a date (lol) along on her next foot doc visit. He needs transportation & a foot doc. Mom suggested hers & actually "asked" me if it would be OK. I told her I would be more than happy to transport him also if he could arrange an office visit along with ours. WOW!!!! I want to ask "Who are you and what did you do with my mother?" because this behavior is totally out of character for her. Must be GOD! She just keeps getting sweeter! I'm a little shocked but won't question my blessings and just remain grateful. We've actually had a few laughs together lately. Thank you LORD!!!!!
Having faith for abundant blessings to all of you too!!!!!!
Castoff, you have incredible cats! I had one of these, her name was Attila... guess why! She made any kind of mischiefs and then she looked at me with innocent eyes "It was not me!" GP what a sad story. I understand that Christmas cannot be the same anymore after a tragedy of that kind. Linda I am sorry for you and all people who have a "heavy" relative. My mother is very slim, so it's not a problem to carry her here and there. We are all in the same situation, that is every day another disease comes out. An UTI, an ache of unidentified source, they do not want to eat, their mind blows... Every day there is something new! We had a funny story here. My mother always hides the TV remote (which is a special one, as we have a pay-TV with decoder and so on) , so we keep it on top of a display case where she can't reach it. I forgot to do it and it disappeared. So Daniela (the morning caregiver) gave me an extra remote that she had, let's call it "B", identical to mine, (let's call mine "A"). When Simonetta, the other caregiver, arrived in the afternoon, she said "I know where your mother hides things" and she opened a drawer and she found my remote ("A") So we put "A" and "B" on top of the display case. The following day I said Daniela that Simonetta had found "A". But Daniela said: "No, I found "A" and hid "B" it in the drawer, so Simonetta found "B", not "A"). I started to laugh because we are getting completely crazy and we are hiding the things one another! I wonder if I leave "A" and "B" alone they reproduce and generate some little and cute TV remotey. Those girls are great and they take most of the burden now. My mother is passing through a phase when she does not want to stay with anyone, and she obsesses them all day long. When she comes back home at night she is so tired of complaining that she shuts up and I have no more problems... Today she made an amazing thing, she remembered a telephone number and wanted Daniela to deal it. Daniela did not know which number was. She dialed it and my cousin answered. This cousin of mine is the daughter of one of my mother's sisters who died 3 years ago, and my mother and her were very close, they called each other 10 times a day. So my mother remembered her sister's number after 3 years! Amazing. All these things tell me that it's not with us that she would like to stay. I feel sad for her, in a way... JOJO where are you????????????????????? How are you? Your mother has arrived? I'll write you on Facebook
jen, I know that you'll make the right decisions about what to do! We have confidence in you!
kuli, Thank you! I am feeling better, seems like each day! I only had to get up 1 time again last night! YEAH! I'm sorry that you're having such a difficult time! I know that you're missing your daughter! Please know that we're here for you! I wish I could do more!
miz, How is Sassy doing? How are YOU doing?
castoff, funny stories! You're such a sweetheart to even try to take the gentleman with you to the doctor's office! You're braver than I am!
I had the most 'fun' day ever...NOT...Had to go to the doc for my female physical. Yuck! That is one of the benefits of going to the Health Dept. My pap & physical was only $35.
Talked to my 'golden child' daughter a little while ago & she is still planning on being here at our home from Sunday - Thursday. I have caught heck from my family at the possibility of her not being here because I couldn't get the house in order so I caved & am trying to get things done around here. I'll do what I can & make sure that they have a clean place to sleep & other than that what you see is what you get! I know that all of the stuff needs to be done, but with the depression & the responsibilities it's just hard to motivate to do anything. I know that you guys understand whether they do or not.
And I have a bone to pick with 1 of my sisters. She will be keeping my granddaughter during the day so my daughter can work on the computer...she works online for a major computer company & the house needs to be quiet...anyway, my sister has also planned part of the night time events for them while they're here without even being considerate as to my plans. So not only will she have my granddaughter during the day, but some of the nights as well. I feel like she should have butted out, especially until she asked me what our plans were. My daugher also told me today that she has plans to go to a town between here & Atlanta on Tuesday night to visit 1 of her friends so there's another night that I won't get to be with them. I'm beginning to see a pattern developing in that we're just a pit stop place to sleep & bathe. Feeling slightly used. OK, a lot used. All of this would be easier if when I tell my daughter on the phone that I love her that she would respond that she loves me too instead of 'Yeh'!
I don't even want to think about what we'd all do now without each other! I've come to depend on all of you for laughs, companionship, vent sisters...I value each of your opinions & suggestions! Love you guys! Goodnight!
Yes, Castoff! Sir had a very special lady friend for several years at the institution. Maintained seperate apartments but spent evenings toegether. I beilieve I wrote a post about sycronising (geez - I can't spell) their doctor's appointments & occassionally adding another resident friend or two.
My minivan was often full of little old people swapping lap dogs. ... I made friends with the office personnel so it worked for everyone to have me schedule them all. One time I had 4 of them wearing those dark paper eyeglasses after the retina surgeon visit. I felt like I was driving a space ship of aliens thru rush hour traffic.
We took a big hit when Helen suffered & died last year. But the companionship was wonderful for all of us!
Georgia, forgive me if I mind your business, but if I were you, one night, when your daughter and you are alone, I would talk to her and tell her "really" what you are going through. I am afraid she does not get the situation because she lives too far away. Maybe she will understand more, if you talk to her. I try to see the situation from the point of view of "us daughters" (I am not a mother) and sometimes I would have liked my parents to tell me how things really were. My father especially always minimized his problems and I understand now how sick and depressed he was, sometimes. And I am sorry not to have understood it. I have been quite selfish toward him. You are such a sweet person and we all love you.
Bobbie,How's you and your newest buddy? Are you o.k.? What did the system do to you,is it fixable,or should I say the b@sTurds of the system. I would feel so embarassed and ashamed if I was the type of human most of these lawyers are.Lawyers are proof of the existance of the devil. My personal lawyer wants me to come in to sign some papers I totally don't understand, just want them to be explain to me in a way I know whats going on,he won't do that,he will not return calls,he just wants me to sign.I see clearly how my dad was lead in to sign those papers,he didn't understand what was what any more than I do. I think all honest lawyers, the few that were are dead or extinct.I'VE search high and low,I don't feel as one exists.IT IS A CORRUPT SYSTEM, and lawyers and greed are to blame. I think a lawyer should listen and explain things. My lawyers mother is ailing, but he doesn't have time for her either. We referr to THEM as the Pure ones now.If you hear us talking of the pure ones you'll know who we're talking about. Rich woman is off of the land now, didn't receive any money though-it's hard to stop the snowball effect put into place by my brothers.Do kids trick or trick boats-is kid going out Halloween-Whats up with you?
GP: Rossella's right! Tell your daughter and if you don't get satisfaction and reach an understanding then maybe your daughter can spend the rest of her visit using your sister's as a motel. I hope your sister has the decency to make sure you and your husband are invited for her 'plans' even tho you may not want to go.....AND We All Love You very very much and would fight like tigresses on your behalf. Know that you have an army of friends even when your face to face people are being Jackasses.
RIP the Stitch!! You are AMAZING! I can just see the minivan full of senior Martians! Into the Clone Closet for you. More Rips in the world! Funny girl!
Rossella! love your stories and I understand a lot of your issues. Can't wait to meet you and have some BoatTime!
Kuli! I'm so sorry that your daughter has moved out. Please stick with us throughout! Ow. We love you.
Cast! You are an excellent storyteller. i went to sleep last might thinking of your last post and your funny cats and how well you write. Love to read your stuff! Bless yore lil heart! and yes, indeed God did bless me with a good Cat. We had that trial run there.... with the Velococrapter and now i'm in kittie heaven.
linda's sore back and aching all over and where is JoJo?? SS are you out there? check in girl! I'm still supposed to come North next year! whassup? don't spend all day at the tea party!! at least let us know that you're ok and what's new in the political environment up there in the 'mitt' of Michigan.
Tennessee!! I lost a case because the 'Township' would not release the document I needed to defend myself. About as corrupt as it can get. I am still stinging and there is a slight chance that I can find the doc myself, but it's hard for me to give a sh!! because when it gets tough and yes, it's been tough, I just work harder on the boat and enjoy the day and look forward to having you guys come out and visit.
I don't think kids trick or treat boats. There's only one kid in the marina and no one in their right minds would try and 'trick' a boat. We Captains are nuts and everybody knows it.
Speaking of Captains, where's Pirate? There's a smart one. Jen! This too will pass and then you come and hang out with me for awile and we'll publish a book of nautical cat limericks!
Miz!! C'mon girl!! check in at least so we don't go crazy with worry!! i know you're hurting and you have the right to be as crazy as you want!! and please don't worry about being a downer. That is the precise time we REALLY want to hear from you so we can all holler at a tired caregiver!!
Maxine! got any hits on that dating website?
alright....I know I missed a lot of our crew! Whassup people? I had coffee! check in and let us know that we are making it for another day!
I know I'm missing out by not being on FaceBook. How many of us are on?
Good morning everybody! Thought I'd take a minute to write. Mom is still in bed, waiting fir the heat to warm the house before I get her out of bed! Miz, Sorry you are feeling so down, but we are here for you and definitely want you to talk to us no matter what! Linda, Mom hasn't been able to walk or go to the toilet on her own for over 6 months now. It is a constant battle to keep her from falling when I have to get her out of the wheelchair. I always have some part of my body that aches! Kuli, I would so miss my daughter if she moved away! She and hubby live in the apartment above us and I get to see her all the time. I wouldn't have it any other way! She will miss you too, and will be there when you need her. Daughters are like that. Rossella, Mom is going further away with every passing day. Not a lot we can do about it. Having the outside help is a good thing for them and us. Mom lost her remote for a week. She had put it in Merry's huge purse, and it was a week before Merry found it in her bag! Jen, I know we will need a ramp someday, but the way the house is built(constructed in 1886) I don't think that it can be built using the necessary code. Georgia, Rossella and Bobbie are right. Talk to your daughter when she gets there and see what's really up. And shame on your sister for making you feel that way! Bobbie, Kitty sounds happy to be with you! Looks like she chose well. Coffee! I need a lot today! Rip, Too funny about Sir and friends! Okay, I need to get Mom up and washed, dressed and fed. Hope you all have a good day today!
Hey everybody, doing OK here really tired glad he will be off to adult day health. Just wiped out...
"Nautical Cat Limericks"..I gotta wonder if that sentence has every been heard before in human history! hehehehe
Mom is slowly warming up to ramp info...asking questions. I isn't done deal till we sign papers for contracting and get permits...but it is gonna need to be soon...frozen ground not as easy to work with.
Deef, I think maybe you would end up with some sort of circular cement type ramp from the sounds of it...like a freeway over pass people walkway...you are right, really most homes are not built for handicapped access period but the further you go back....even less so.
So tired here, just want to go back to bed...can't till he is gone at nine...
Hope everyone has a good weekend or at least peaceful...
I'm here. I'm here. I'm sorry I haven't written. Just trying to deal. Just not feeling well lately. I'm wondering if it's something physical and not just mental. Sassy's much better yesterday and today. She climbed up on the bed last night in Mom's room and loved on me and this morning she's on my bed. Jumped up on her own. She's doing an odd thing for her. She's shaking her tail (like quivering). I know males do that to mark their territory but I don't know why she is doing it now. Bad day at work yesterday. Felt like crap and so busy and not feeling good about it and wonder if it's worth it. But now that I've started making that money, we really need it. It's not like we're spending more. Funny how that works. Am worried I'll overdraw at the bank as it is. Just feeling pulled so many different directions. I feel like a bad friend. Not responding to yalls posts. I'm so sorry. Gonna go get some stuff done. Love you all. Thanks for being here.
hi there ! havin a good friday here , bustin my hindend got the house cleaned up for my sis in law , ahh she called said not comin cuz daughter s car broke down ,. so shes gotta go drive 2 hrs away to get her daughter . waaaaaaaaaa . gonna try to come monday if all goes well .
speaking of a ramp , i was going to have one built here but then the more i thought of it it be too much of a hassel and wood rot in later years and all , i started lookin online and found a suitcase ramp ! i love it !! prop it up against the steps and there ya go ! when ure not going to use it take it down and put it in garage till u need it again , also i take it with me when we go some place , someones house it comes in handy so i can wheel pa into the house . i love it . its not too bad of a price either . building a ramp would make my house look so eye sore . eeek . bobbie i am on facebook too . miz havent seen u on facebook either . mmm secret sister is still havin tea party she list it on facebook , wow what a busy woman ! maybe she;ll become a president ! :-) gp i sure hope visiting with ur daughter might be a good one . if ur sister wants to babysit whoo hoo let her ! i love my grandkids then in about an hr im ready to hand it back over to the mommy or daddy . theyre hand full ! it amazes me how i did it when i was young . pa woke up all smiles and happy . he s havin a good day today . makes me have a good day too . think i ll go lay down and take a nap . migrian headache has been attackin me this past hr . damn it ! will ckin again later . tnite im going to be glued to the tv , my fav show MEDUIM will be on . have a good evening , xoxo
MEDIUM! I like it a lot. One of my favorite, too. And Crossing Jordan: I would like to be a woman like Jordan. Miz, try to resist and don't leave your job! Think it over, a lot!!! The news that little Sassy is better made me jump with joy. If she is developing strange behaviours, maybe it is because during her illness she saw things. Cats are so mysterious! A child told me one day: According to me, cats are aliens. I agree!
Alien cats ,,, There was a huge article leading to many debates about 30 years ago. I wish I could find it!
Medium is great! Love that Joe. Love them all! Crossing Jordan hasn't been on here in a while. Closer & Saving Grace are / were good. I've become a TV junkie. DVR is the best invention, especially for sleepless me.
Last night I found old Charlie's Angels reruns at 3 AM on a cable channel. They were on a cruise ship (oh ... vacation without worrying, what a concept) ~ its fun to see the old fashions & silly scripts. TV has come a long way since those shows.
Linda, it is wonderful to have someone having a good day! It's beautiful outside here in Seattle! Summer has finally arrived. What a weird year weather wise.
Hey miz so glad to hear Sassy is getting up and around. I have seen CLEO do the tail twitch to..no idea showing off? Kitty Spasm? I am happy to know she pulled through...
Quiet here and coll ALL DOORS AND WINDOWS OPEN don't care what the crime statistics are I have a baseball bat and anyone messing with me in my irritating life now is gonna catch hell! ah fresh air. blowing ode du old man urine out the back!!!!
Airing CLEO too or she'd be po'd all night.
Been nasty stomach n bugie sick here so just as well I snuck out to library yesterday!
Trying more ramp possibilities. It will be about 40 man hours and high estimate is $3,500. HE HAS IT! Mom is fighting it but when I get the fish eye from the Handicapped Bus Drivers watching him wiggle him self down the steps///Hell let HER watch them watch him...You wanna wait for a fall? She is tired as hell too maybe she would just assume he did fall and die, but boy that would look bad, negligence on her part, especially considering he can afford the damn thing!
There is a fly the size of a quarter buzzing around in here...es mom will be pissed later but when isn't she I am AIRING the house!!!
Gonna draw out some other ramp angles for moms perusal...The fourteen feet over and back in front of living room window ain't gonna work...
Hope every one is doing OK and has a good weekend....
I doubt you'd need a baseball bat to fend off intruders. Shove the old guy at them! From what you say maybe the aroma would drive them away before trying to break in.
Did you read about the folding ramp? City permits are such a hassle.
No head phones, huh? Maybe the contractors could insulate his room with accoustical sound deafeners. My renter was a musician / sound tech. He had a studio in the spare room with an amazing sound mixing board. Never heard anything.
My house is absolutely thief-proof. Between the animals and the diapers, nobody would come in. The smell just kicks you out! Alberto has a sweater on because it's starting to get cold...

Everybody is coping with such awful stuff and you all are doing it with extreme grace even when you think you're not.
Don't forget that.
Love you guys,
lovbob
He is full time in wheel chair now...and L is right he will just gone boom and he is down...
I am playing drafting here seeing if we took out a bush if straight would work either way by code we have to have stairs so they can't just go...This house I swear nothing fits....
Bobbie, Learning lots of kitty idiosyncracies?
GP what a sad story.
Goodnight!
Dad needs me.
Hope everyone is doing well!
You are such a sweet person and we all love you.
How many of us are on?
love you guys. going for my second cup!

Hope everyone has a good weekend or at least peaceful...
love,
miz
hey Deef!
hey miz! don't worry about us, just check in and we love ya no matter what.
lovbob
speaking of a ramp , i was going to have one built here but then the more i thought of it it be too much of a hassel and wood rot in later years and all , i started lookin online and found a suitcase ramp ! i love it !! prop it up against the steps and there ya go ! when ure not going to use it take it down and put it in garage till u need it again , also i take it with me when we go some place , someones house it comes in handy so i can wheel pa into the house . i love it . its not too bad of a price either . building a ramp would make my house look so eye sore . eeek .
bobbie i am on facebook too .
miz havent seen u on facebook either . mmm
secret sister is still havin tea party she list it on facebook , wow what a busy woman ! maybe she;ll become a president ! :-)
gp i sure hope visiting with ur daughter might be a good one . if ur sister wants to babysit whoo hoo let her ! i love my grandkids then in about an hr im ready to hand it back over to the mommy or daddy . theyre hand full !
it amazes me how i did it when i was young .
pa woke up all smiles and happy . he s havin a good day today . makes me have a good day too .
think i ll go lay down and take a nap . migrian headache has been attackin me this past hr . damn it !
will ckin again later . tnite im going to be glued to the tv , my fav show MEDUIM will be on .
have a good evening , xoxo
Miz, try to resist and don't leave your job! Think it over, a lot!!!
The news that little Sassy is better made me jump with joy. If she is developing strange behaviours, maybe it is because during her illness she saw things. Cats are so mysterious! A child told me one day: According to me, cats are aliens. I agree!
(Maybe a space suit?)
Very sweet!
Did you read about the folding ramp? City permits are such a hassle.
I think we are going full on built permanent...
How is his day care going? Is he behaving?
My renter was a musician / sound tech. He had a studio in the spare room with an amazing sound mixing board. Never heard anything.
If you could be so lucky Jen ... No Don Ho?
Alberto has a sweater on because it's starting to get cold...
