Miz -hope your kitty comes back soon-my sister's was gone for about 2 weeks and came back-covered with ticks we understand when you can not come here we all care about you J we had a ramp built years ago for my husband we had a company that hired carpenters and it was not expensive he gave us a price on materials and told us what it would be the only thing it was a little two steep bt the husband used it and had his container garden on the railing which made it easier to tend tend to it -it is a real fall day here the colors on the trees are pretty soon it will be time to use the wood stove-the ramp makes it easier to bring wood into our sunroom.
im sure he will show up , hes out on a prowl and invesgiation of whats going on . leaves a blowing and hes chasin it around . mices are out and about he s prob too busy tryin to catch it . i know the feeling of worring about the kittys , mine left july 4th and never came back . she was old about 13 , lived outside all her life on my back porch , never would let her in cuz she sprays , even when we got her fixed she still sprays . not want that in my house . i wish i could bury her instead of wondering where she went . ah thats in the lords hands . am not feeling too good today , been cold all morning . hope i dont catch something , husband had brocoist and slowly gettin better , he went to work this morning wishin he could stay home . poor guy .. you guys have a good weekend , miz , let us know if ur baby shows up , i have one house cat and he loves to go outside , always dartin for the door zoom . wont see him till later evening , busy man he is , out on the prowllll . xoxo
Miz, Praying for Sandy to come home soon. Glad Sassy is better. Believe for the best dear & be kind to your digestive track (it has to last you a lifetime). Rip, LOL, probably looked like you & the sunglass seniors were all headed to a Blues Brothers concert. I don't know the man mom wants to bring to the doc. with us.....hoping for the best. In the recent past, mom has been very judgemental of folks. She had a "criteria" that people had to meet for her approval, but lately she's been so different (sweet) that I don't know what to expect. I guess I'll find out on Wednesday. Just in case I think I'll try & make room in my car for a wheelchair. Rosella, So now your mom has all of you hiding things from each other? Was that her "plan" all along? lol. I've heard of "remote sex" but not in that context. Ha Ha. "remote offspring?"......Sorry I'm a little slap happy today & utilizing horrid puns......Love the little sweater on Alberto....too cute. Bobbie, Happy that you & kitty are such a good match. The right cat for the right lady is important. I'm sure you'll grow closer every day. They say cats are good for our blood pressure. In my case it can go either way...down or up depending on the mood of the cat. Shutup is like a 25lb. pendulum.....soooo very sweet or soooo very spiteful. He could very well be an alien & if I ever come across a "pod" while I'm cleaning house I'll know who's it is! Linda, Glad your pa is having a good day & hope the head hurt gets gone. Thanks for the tip on the ramp. Mom doesn't visit here often because of the stairs into our circa 1905 home. She is pretty good if she has help with the walker (brace in front & back) but it's difficult & a three person job. Kuli, You are such a sweet person. I'm sure your daughter will be there for you as you have always been there for her. I can imagine the transition is a little tug on your heart strings, but I'm sure all will work out OK. We all have to carve out our own lives and I wish her success in all her endeavors.
Hurray!!!! Hub just called...took his tools out to his new job & will start monday! Had a chat with the owner & both he and his new boss are pleased with each other! His new boss was glad to find that my hub is a fine upstanding citizen and has a good work ethic (no addictions & no criminal record). Hub sounded happy with him also....an honest employer with a sense of humor. My prayers have been answered once again......GOD is awesome. All GOD's best to all of you.
Thank you for your prayers. He still has not come home. Hubby puts signs up with $100.00 reward. Gonna advertise in the paper. The office there is closed and I wasn't able to place it on-line. So, the ad won't run until Tuesday. He's such a sweet boy. I pray he's not somewhere suffering. Hubby and I walked around the neighborhood together calling for him. Earlier today I was so upset I pounded the storm door with my fist. Did it again and it broke. Hubby cleaned it up and he cut his self. I felt so bad. This is a nightmare.
oh miz i am so sorry , who ever has ur kitty will return them , or some lit girl fell in love with him and wanna keep him . hopefuly it return tnite so u can sleep happy . now u gotta buy another storm door ugh ? just a bad day . i sorry . :-( i didnt have any enegry all day long , still dont , draggin and draggin , took about half hr nap , pa saw me sleepin oh he went waaa waaa waaa , drag his hindend up to the bathroom . never could nap when i wanted to . guess i ll go to bed early tnite . theres a party going on in my old hometown , but i cant go , snifff waaaaaaaaaa , stay home where its safer and its home sweet home . goodnight ya all . xoxo
Ihope your kitty comes home soon he is probably as upset as you when my cat got out-the husband let him out while I was visiting my very sick brother I was so upset then I thought how upset he was-he came back in during the night we left the sunroom door open-my sister's cat was gone for almost two weeks and came back-cats are pretty good getting back home good luck.
hey Miz ~ Cats have a certain GKH. Global Kitty Home. They sense home. He may hiding ... What kind of neighborhood are you in? Lots of traffic, other houses?
When I relocated several cats to my house after the shop caught fire, 3 returned to the shop - over a mile away. I was shocked! They had to cross 2 major roads & a huge area of woods to return to the industrial area, crept in the open shop window & were waiting for more food.
One girl went 4 times until I trapped & relocated her 'feral boyfriend'. They live here today. Still bonded.
You are doing all the right things! Please don't give up ... Meanwhile the panic is horrible!!!
Thanks, Everyone. Rip, we live in a neighborhood with lots of houses and fences and some traffic but not a lot. Hubby drove all around and didn't see any "road kill" so that's a good thing. Hubby's been reading on the internet and it said sometimes they do get scared by something and wait to come home at night, even if they are close by. We are putting some of his things and hubby's shirt and socks in the yard. Familiar stuff. We're trying to keep our hopes up. Hubby wants to know what happened. I wondered if people might steal cats for the reward money. We don't care if that's the case. We'll pay. It's just so hard because he should be here with us. We love him so much and he loves us so much. Rip, thank you for sharing your experiences. It does help. :) Love you all.
I know, Patti! I wish I could say "don't worry" but that is impossible! Only animal lover can know how much you panic!
You are doing everything right!!! Cats are really hard to steal! Not like dogs who hop into a car. How old is he? How long has he lived with you? Remain positive ... as hard as it is! Could he be hiding in your house?
Ripley, yeah ... I name my identity after a cat, disappeared for several days last month. Something traumatized the savvy guy.
I found him hiding in the garage ... in a box. He is still not himself ... but safe & recovering. Not sleeping on my bed, still scared ... but it took days to find his hiding place.
Hey everybody! Hope y'all are having a plesant evening!
miz, we're all rooting for you & Sandy to be reunited tonight! I know that it's tough waiting. I bet he'll be back by morning! Keep us posted. Glad that Sassy's better!
Everybody take it easy tonight & get some rest...you too miz! : )
Trying to tell Miz to keep waiting with hope rather than bad thoughts... Sandy is probably nearby. Safe. Hiding ... waiting ... Cats are goofy. How is the weather there? Did he go outside to sunshine? It's so hard ... not knowing. You know we are all praying ...
Hoping Peach doesn't do laundry while her daughter visits. Let the girl do something for you, girlfriend!
I am wondering where many Thread Family Members are ...
Castoff, I hope the remote controls to breed, so we will always have some on hand. I see that the other mothers hide them, too. There must be something fascinating in them. Miz I am so sorry for Sandy, but I still hope he is roaming around. My cats disappear for weeks (several weeks, sometimes). Alberto disappeared for one whole month when he was angry at me. Try to call him in your thoughts, use telepathy. If he comes back, it is very likely he shows himself and then disappears again, as he probably has something to do. I read in a book that every now and then cats gather in big groups and tell each other stories. That would not surprise me at all..It is not at all strange that a cats goes away for a few days. Maybe he does not want to come home now, and when your husband looked for him, he pretended not to see him. But if he feels you are worried, sooner of later he will show his face. He is probably upset for what happened to Sassy and he is reacting his own way. When a cat of mine does not feel well, most of the other ones stay away from him. (only the "nurse cats" stay close to him) Dogs can do the same. My ex landlord has a dog (a female) who escapes from time to time and he always looks for her. She goes back home when she feels like it! Keep us posted. A kiss to everyone else
Hey RIP, Thanks for the out-of-the-blue hug. It was nice to wake up to. I haven't been on this thread for a while, I was kinda goin through a bad funk, lasted a few months, but for some reason in the last few days I feel like I'm beginning- just barely- to get back to my old self. I have made some serious changes that didn't seem to make sense to me at first. I followed a lot of the advice I found here and started to weed people OUT of my life! I know it sounds counteractive after complaining of getting no help or understanding from anyone but it seems it was even worse than that and I was allowing myself and my neediness to be taken advantage of just for some false sense of companionship. Really, The day I stood up and said "NO, I Can't handle your BS on top of my own!" my own point of veiw seemed to improve. As hard as it is to do, I think the "BE SELFISH" thing is working! Hope all is well with everyone.
Thanks so much for all your prayers everyone. He's home!!!!!!!!!!!! Hubby found him in the front yard at 4:00 this morning. He come into our bedroom crying with Sandy in his arms. I almost can't believe it. Thank you God!! And thanks so much for all of your stories of cats coming home safely even after a long time. That gave us hope. I don't think he's quite himself yet. He was very hungry and very tired I'm sure. I wonder what he was doing all that time and how close we might have been to him and not know it. Wow, what a huge relief!! :))
Miz Thanks be to God he returned he probably was very upset maybe even more than you and all of us thanks for letting us know did he give you that look that said you will not believe what I have been through he will probably act a little different for a while-I am so happy for you-my sister had to wait 2 weeks-her son came home one afternoon and saw him then it took hrs, to get him into the house,
oh what a wonderful day it is today . miz youre happy camper today ! horrayyyyy ! glad ur sandy is home now and so happy that ur hubby went out so early and brought him in . he prob sense that he needed to go look one more time . :-) now sounds like everybodys gonna have a happy sunday . hope monday be a happy one too . TED - glad ure coming around and dont take nobody BS . maybe one day u can hop on bobbie s boat and have a margaritta . where is bobbie ? havent heard from her in a while . hope all is well with the legal stuff she s going thru . tenn too . woke up this morning didnt have any enegery like yesterday . decided to soak in the tub and now im going to try to clean the kitchen up . same ole crap everyday . would love to be soakin up the sun on bobbies boat . and watch her dolphine do some barkin , splashin water and do some cartwheels woooo . that be heaven for me ! someday i will be on barbara b . ok gotta go do some slavery work in the kitchen . have a happy sunday you all ! xoxox
Austin, Linda, & Bobbie. Yes, thanks be to God!! Poor guy is exhausted. I wish he could tell us what happened. Thanks everyone for all of your support. It's crazy. We almost lost Sassy to yarn and she gets to feeling better and Sandy goes missing. But, everything is good now. Our little family is back together. One good thing that came out of it is we met some of our neighbors that we hadn't met before.
Mom didn't want to get out of bed to get changed. I gave in and changed her on the bed. Hopefully it's just a tired day for her. I'm still fighting with her sugar levels. I'm giving her insulin or not giving her insulin at night depending on how low her sugar is. I think I know what level will get her through the night okay.
K...gotta do some on-line banking and see if any checks are gonna bouncy bouncy. ;) The good Lord always provides.
Miz, please tell your cats to calm down for a while! Sassy and Sandy... Hear me? CALM DOWN! They kept many of the USA and a piece of Europe in the anxiety for many days.. Miz I have to tell you I asked Alberto to travel to US and look for Sandy and tell him to go home. If Sandy is shocked, no wonder. If he has seen an enormous (17 lbs) black ghost cat going to him and telling him to go home, of course he is a little scared. And there is another thing I guess: he wanted to draw attention upon himself because lately you have given too much attention to Sassy. Cats are the biggest SOBS on Earth! Anyhow... We are so happy. p.s. Do you realize your poor hubby got up at 4 in the morning to look for you cat????????? He is a saint.
Rosella, I know. No more cat drama!! Please thank Alberto for me. LOL, you're right. Sassy was getting lots of attention. Sandy had been very active during her recovery. I know it scared her. It was like he was saying, "Look at me!!!!" My hubby loves that cat. He's his best buddy. He looked out the small window in the door and saw something run from the porch to the yard. He opened the door and turned on the porch light at the same time and Sandy was down at the end of the house by the bushes. Hubby said, "Sandy!" and he saw him and ran ran ran to him and hubby picked him up. What a moment. I'm sorry I missed it. I didn't know what to think when he woke me up and he was crying. They were tears of joy. I got up and wanted to stay up a little with him but I got light headed and saw a doughnut light when I closed my eyes so I went back to sleep until 7:00. I still almost can't believe he came home. You all were so right in reassuring me. I thank God and I know there was some luck involved. We are going to be VERY careful from now on. I can't imagine losing either of them, especially this young. I want them to have a long and happy life. I know all you cat lovers know what I mean. Dog lovers too!! Thanks so much for the post, Rossella. Love you!!
Whew!!! Yes, Sandy ... you had us all in a tizzy! I also sent ghost kitties to seek you out. Then wondered ... maybe Sandy had to visit the "Mother Ship" since the alien cat discussion came up. Make sure your people have good collars & ID tags. If not, Rip will provide the tags with phone number.
Are they microchipped, Miz?
I've been meaning to sew more pet collars. I use men's neck ties. I picked up some nice silk ones which are easy to adapt. ~ Value Village, my favorite thrift store. I use hair elastics for the stretchy part in case they get stuck & need to free themselves. Make a figure 8 & sew little buttons.
The things we do for our animals ...
& our seniors!
Stumbled across a bagain at Rite Aid! Shower grab bars & commode hoister rails for $10 off! Now to install the dang things without screwing up.
Holding my breath for news of Kelley's visit, Peach ...
I hope y'all email friends enjoyed the singing anethesiologists! Seen it before but what a hoot! Could you imagine waking up to them? How do I post it on Face Book?
Hope everyone, especially Kaye & Larry, are having a pleasant Sunday!
I can imagine Sandy who had gone out to mind his own business, surrounded by my ghost Alberto, Rip's ghost kitties, Miz telepathy, Miz's husband's sorrow, the prayers of us all, the thoughts and the concern of Miz's friends and so on and so on... and he must have thought: "What the hell, I just wanted to take a walk!!!!" Anyhow Rip's advice is very good (as always). The microchips and the collars with elastic that the cat can take away if he gets stuck, those are good ideas. When Alberto got lost, many years ago, I took the dogs and I went to a tiny church where St. Francis (Assisi) went to pray alone, on a top of a hill (I do not know if St Francis is known in USA. He loved animals and the nature in general) (St Francis lived in this area for a few years, 13th century). When I got there (a long hard hike), I left a photo of Alberto to St Francis and I asked him to bring me back my cat. The following day, when I was in a field with the dogs, a flock of swallows passed over our head, I mean just over our head, they flied very low. (St Francis loved birds especially) And a few days later Alberto came back home... So Miz I understand very well your pain of the last days and your happiness of today!

K...gotta do some on-line banking and see if any checks are gonna bouncy bouncy. ;) The good Lord always provides.
love,
miz
He is a saint.
miz
Sincere thank you to all of us.
Anyhow Rip's advice is very good (as always).
(St Francis loved birds especially)
And a few days later Alberto came back home...
So Miz I understand very well your pain of the last days and your happiness of today!
How many times I wanted to do that myself.
Hope I explained myself anyway
