Oh tennessee & lil tenny, I am so very sorry that you lost Nora. I know how losing a member of the family can be. I'm sending love and hugs your way. I am so sorry.
I had a lawyers appt. this morning that I forgot-just got call.We are out there trying to dig a hole big enough for our dog to have a funeral and he thinks i am concerned about his butt. I lost my temper and told secretary she can tell her office god that he is not our first priorioty and then I REMINDED HER-WHOSE WORKING FOR WHO. I doubt that will have any positive feedback.Again another example of the lack of humanity amongst the legal devils. It is very dry here and ground is hard, not making much headway,so I came in to take break. Why can't the two legged mammals have as much love in them as the 4-legged ones.People sit around trying to figure out how to take from one another, they backstabb they lie.I've known my brothers for fifty years-never felt any love from them at all;I knew my dog for 11 years and the love and loyalty was infinite-it was unmeasureable. My dad always said the more I am around people the more I RESPECT MY DOG.The more I am around animals the more primitive certain high paid individuals seem to be.It doesn't take a college education to know your family should come first-two legged mammals have a hard time with loyality.Animals don't care about money-they want food- shelter and a loving home.Lawyers make me want to puke.I was thinking the other day the similarities between lawyers and meth-addicts.They have alot in common if you think about it and I don't wish to be around either one.
where is the marnie guy at ? maybe he can get that tractor and dig a nice size hole for ur dog . yes it is dry here and ground is like a rock !! oh tenn i wish i could come over and help u dig a hole . get my hubby s tractor out and dig for ya . maybe get water hse and let water run thru that area and it may be lit easier to dig a hole ? be alotta mud to dig ? have u thought about creamation ? some are for it some are not . im not for it but would do it if i have nobody to dig a hole for me . hell with that lawyer ! theres death in family and he just gonna have to wait !!! xoxo
j. hope the ramp works out well for u guys . easy rollin down and up woooo . i have one its called suitcase ramp . it works as well too , plus i can carry them anywhere i go and if theres no ramp by gosh i can make one with no pblm . 5 thousand ouch !! hope its plastic wood lastes forever .
Tenn, So sorry to hear of your loss of beloved Nola. All God's four legged creatures know who their Master is. On the other hand God gave us free will & we decide who our master will be ( God, self, evil ). Hub and I have encountered grizzly bears in the wild that had better manners than most folks. They have politely let us know that we are too close to them or their meal & to go away with a low gutteral growl. Our response is: "Sir, yes sir, we're out of here sir". We respect God's wild creatures and they respond accordingly. Humans on the other hand are a totally different story. We often seem to have to come to the "end of ourselves" before we acknowledge God as our Master and reliquish our lives to His care. Some folks never "get it" or serve another god (money, self, hate etc.). They don't know what they're missing and all we can do is pray for their awakening. That's the way I see the difference between us and the non-human species. I listen to the birds have their prayer meetings at dusk & realize they may know more than we do where God is concerned. God's comfort to you two in your mourning.
Thank-you everyone for the notes.Who ever said a dog was mans' best friend must of had some woman issues.Still digging on the hole-marine dude had a stroke himself last year and he is still healing himself. He would help if I ask,but don't want him to have a stroke helping me.He has probably done more than he should because he is a marine and you know how the few-the proud and the marines are.Evertime I run into a root I think---lawyer-then I chopp the root into.A few more lawyer thoughts should have it.4 HOURS ON ONE HOLE?
Tenny and little Tenny, I am so sorry for you. I have tears in my eyes as I remember all the animals that I lost, many dogs, many cats. One of my dogs, who was hit by a car, died in my arms. It was December 24th and it was the worst Christmas of my life. I stayed next to him, too, all afternoon, crying and caressing him, and in the night I asked someone to help me to carry him closer to home. I had to find someone to help me bury him (and it was not easy as they were Christmas days). i could not dig a hole by myself. I know how hard it is, they are really members of our families. Little Tenny, you made me sad when you sad that your family is getting smaller. You have your mom, though, and try to make good friends... You don't have an idea how friends are important; sometimes they become better than relatives. One of my friends called me today and asked me if I needed some money (he knows I am having a difficult period), he could borrow me some. He moved me because I did not ask him, he thought of it by himself, and my brother and many of my cousins would not ask me if I need help, even though they know about my problems. When you make good friends when you are your age, some of them will be your friends for the rest of your life. So they will be your family. And sooner or later, I know it is too soon now, there will be another dog who will need all the love you can give him. You will understand when it is the right moment. I read the posts you write from time to time and you seem to me a fine kid. Very smart and sensitive. Stay like this! Thanks for the advices about my mother. She chose to go to bed early, tonight. (luckily for me). She takes a drug to sleep (Seroquel) but I have to give it to her when she is in bed, otherwise she falls deeply asleep on the couch and I can't take her to bed, afterwards. So I have to convince her to go to bed before giving her the pill. The idea of putting a mattress under the couch is good, so, if she falls, at least she falls on a mattress! Thanks ladies and good night
Tenny & Lil Tenny, I am SO sorry about Nola! It's hard to lose a family member. I know that she appreciated the love that you gave her & that you took such good care of her & she showed you by the love & loyality that she gave back to you. I wish that I could be there, too, to help you dig. Lil Tenny, I'm glad that you have such an understanding Mom to let you stay home today. That's special! I'll be thinking about you & keeping you in my prayers!
Well,We started digging about 8:oo this morning and finished about 6:OO this evening. It was like chipping concrete. We had a nice dog funeral for her.Her other dog friends sat there very respectful looking sad. The squirrells overhead sat there and watched. She has such a beautiful face and was truelly our family. She was like a sister to my daughter. There has been so many rough times over the last 10 years and she helped us get though the toughest of them,I don't know what I would have done without her.It seemed ridiculous that it took me 8 hours to dig a hole,I may not be the biggest or the baddest, but I'm not a quitter,so I got it done by sunset. It is cooler today, suppose to get in the 30's tonight. The lawyers office called again after explaining the situation-the souless b@*&rds.We made her a wood cross made it pretty and feminine like she was to mark her spot.We have a animal cemetary, but placed her close to the front porch-her favorite spot under some trees. The tree roots was also very difficult.
So sorry to hear of your loss, tenny and lil tenny. I, too, have lost a cat and a dog in past and know how difficult it is. Lil tenny - as Rosella said, some of the friends you make now will be there for life but always keep your options open to new friends as well. I am so grateful for my aging care friends. So always remember that even though your "blood" family may get smaller, the "family" of friends you choose can grow and grow and is only limited by you!
Castoff,I agree with everything you said, esp. the grizzly bears part. You know it is interesting because at sunset it did seem like the animals joined our prayer meeting.I sat there thinking the same exact thing and then came in to read your post-pretty incredible.
Tenn, you and your daughter have decided to make me cry tonight. I do the same things that you do, I look at them and caress them a lot before I let them go. In a way, I think they feel it. When they have a favorite object I bury the object with them. Have you seen "Marley and me"? All the funerals of my cats and dogs are like that one.
Tenney & Lil Tenney ... My sorrow is with you. Nola sounds like it was sudden. I am so grieving with you ... It's been a bad week for animals. My firend's baby Kangaroo died a couple days ago. They think it might be the well water on their farm. Lost her father this summer. So much to bear ....they are devastated.
I miss Hawkeye every day, my Husky Shepherd of 15+ years who was my rock. Lost him on July 15 at home. The other night I was in a dream state panicked that I'd forgotten to feed him. Moved the sleeping bed cats in order to get up to fix him dinner ... once standing had to shake myself awake. Realize it's been months ... his physical self wasn't beside the bed, I think his spirit may have been teasing with me ... letting me know he is still watching over. Hope so. My heart is aching for you both & Nola.
I agree with your father. I've made Bumper Statements (stickers) "The More People I Meet, the More I Trust my Animals". I should put "lawyers" in place of "people" & reword it to say Any Animals! Even Grizzlies!
Lets see ... "The more Lawyers I Know, the More I Trust the WIld Kingdom".
I am so sorry & can say & understand ... yet nothing I say can release your anguish. We will all be missing her ~ you have solid, loyal friends here on this thread. She is a part of you, as we all are. Sleep knowing we care for you ?
this is lil tenny, Thank you rossela, and yes i have seen marley and me (good but sad.) Thank you again hardebeck for your kind words. Thank you also castoff and kuli2106. Thank you georgia Thank you everybody, we appreciate it. :)
this is lil tenny again, thank you so much rip,it means a lot to us. we like the bumper sticker idea. thank you also J and miz. :) :) i am so glad you guys understand how dogs are like family.
lil tenny, what a sweet girl you are. Our animals are our family. I lost my little Sissy girl about two years ago and it hurts so much to think about her being gone. But, I try to think about all the funny, cute and sweet things about her. You are a loving person as is your mom. I'm so glad you have been on here to share with us today. My heart aches for you and your mom. It will get better though, sweetie.
I figured out tonight that I have been checking Mom's sugar level incorrectly. On the test strips there are two sides to collect the blood. You are only supposed to use one side. Oops. Her sugar is fine right now but she's not feeling well. I hate to put her to bed that way. Scary. Please pray if you do. Thanks so much.
Ya know. We have a bond on here that goes farther and deeper than being caregivers to loved ones. We truly care about what happens to each of us and that can make us better than family as many of you know first hand. Love you all.
Thank-you Miz.--I don't feel very strong-I feel tired and wore out physically and mentally-I'm with Bobbie on the comment that I just want to be left alone and not harrassed so I can heal from all of the caregiving duties.Healing from caregiving is a slow process-its like losing weight, its very slow.Caregiving takes every ounce of your being-its not like hired help who has no dog in the fight-they collect a pay check and walk away. When your family and your taking verbal abuse or whatever your sick parent is throwing at you-you are still there.Hired help and family caregivers may do the same chores but the emotional dynamics are so different.Unless you are a family caregiver you really don't understand.Thats why that black hole looms so close to us all.Every family caregiver knows of the black hole and it is a very scary place to be.My brothers were hoping I would lose it to the black hole-that was their first stratagy-now they have their lawyers trying to shove me in the hole. This is the brother who did not spend one day-not one hour- taking care of his dad-could not be bothered to come to funeral. That shows you had low class these attorneys are. The legal system should appropiately be called the criminal system.(As J would say 'IT IS WHAT IT IS'] My daughters birthday is in a few days and I was taking her somewhere special and prepaid for the tickets and other things-non-refundable.We couldn't leave because of Nola having stroke. The thought of us returning and finding her decomposed.............My daughter is glad we didn't leave on time, she doesn't seem disappointed, but the stress of throwing away that much money is pretty stressfull in it self.As smart as she is, she doesn't yet really know what it takes to make money and the difference between 300 and 3000 dollars,so I'M also feeling like a failure for yet another birthday going sour. This is why I don't like to prepay for things.I called the airlines for last minute travel-I was in disbelief on the costs on last minute flights[I haven't flown since I was 23] I know life is full of ups and downs-but wheres the ups.I know the answer to that-When I rid myself of the parasites referred to as lawyers.I really miss Nola I can't believe she is gone.My daughter tells me NOLA is with her dad and my dad in Heaven.I told her I will miss Nola waiting by the gate for us to escort us up the driveway-My daughter replied ,'she is waiting for us right now by the gates with daddy'-I said what do you mean and she says,'now she is by the most macnificant gates of all- the pearly gates in heaven and she is waiting there now with daddy and she is in no more pain.If I was as smart as my kid I probably wouldn't be getting sued.
Tenn, we should always listen to kids... they always have the right way to approach things. I am sorry you lost your vacation and your money, but you would not have enjoyed yourselves if you had gone.
Tenn and Tenny I am so sorry about the loss of Nola she knew she was loved and cared for by the two of you-our last dog had a heart attack when it snowed almost 2 ft. our appointment at the hospital for my husband's antibotics had been cancelled because staff could not get in so we were home he did not want to come in the house so I had to pull him in-over 100lbs. of him -i was so glad we were home when it happened-it is so sad to lose a beloved pet, You daughter is one smart and good hearted little girl-you have been a good role model for her.
tennessee, you have a very smart, sweet and dear daughter. That's no surprise because you raised her. I wish I could give you more comfort about losing Nora. It's just sad, I know. Time will help. Also, when I lost Sissy, I didn't think I was ready for another pet. Hubby said, Honey you need a kitten. So, we got Sassy and Sandy. It was still hard, but having them to focus on really helped. I know it is way too soon for you to think about that but maybe sometime in the future? You and lil tenny are in my prayers. And, tennessee, you ARE strong. You have been through so much and you are still standing and caring for your sweet daughter. Big hugs to you.
