Miz, Have GREAT TIME! Excitement, adventure, FREEDOM! Go with the flow and don't worry about a thing, especially not the kitties, They only let you think they need you cause they're good like that. They'll sleep, eat. poop, chase each other around a little. It'll be a vacation for them also. I'm excited for ya!
Miz! So glad you and your husband are going for some fun. Let yourself go with it! Don't let ANY guilt/regrets about ANYTHING get between you and having fun. Every time your mind drifts, make that choice right there to stay in the moment and enjoy what's around you to the fullest.
Ted, thanks for being here. You have such an important voice for all of us. Thanks for cheering us on and being supportive of those of us who have lost our charges and are moving on in LIFE!
Gonna go have a smoke and then start getting ready cause I kinda take forever and gotta finish packing for one night and don't want to be drying my hair when hubby's wanting to brush his teeth and need to go to the pharmacy again, this time for my meds. How's that for a run on sentence??
What does BOAT mean? Is that an inside code word? We could use a boat today in California. Terrible flooding. Two trees down blocking entrance to our community. Trash Day, too. Ground saturated to max, clay soil. Coffee helps. With Hazelnut and Splenda. Row, Row, People. Have a great day! HUGS :)))

When I say BOAT!, it's just a way to keep me focused on the good aspects of life and remind me that enjoyable times are still there in my future. When Bobbie says BOAT!, she' probably thinking about where all her retirement money is going. (Just a Joke, B.)
BOAT is what some of us fixate on when caregiving gets to be too much to stand for another second. thinkoftheboat. BOAT also means where you get to go when your caregiving mission is over or if you can arrange for BOAT to mean a respite in caregiving. This particular boat is the Barbara B, named after my mom. Tell me when you want to come!
Hy guys our church is having it's first ever Christmas service tonight which is nice for me because my grandson will be over and we will celebrate it tomarrow God forbid my son has him on the real day but that's the way it goes with his ex-we have some snow on the ground so will be a white Christmas here, take care my life is boring right now and that is fine with me.
Thanks Peach! Yesterday was the birthday of one of my two helpes. I forgot it. But I don't remember if I knew it and I forgot it, or if I never knew it was her birthday. Shortly, i don't remember what I don't remember. I am starting to become like the old ladies of Bobbie's jokes...
Yes, we are on a giant sponge right now. I will hate to see what happens to the retaining wall alongside the yard, as my drainage/soils expert husband says it's about to buckle. Going to look at BOAT right now, then mail Christmas cards and wrap presents--don't want to do that. used to love it and get very creative. now I have better things to do with my time. I just want to throw all the stuff under the tree and say, "There!" My Mother quite pleasant the last few days--sleeping until 5 and agreeing to stay under covers until it's light... OK, what's up with that? If that's all I get for Christmas, I'll be happy. Dr. lowered her BP med, added Lexapro, and gave her cream that stopped the itching!!! Praise the Lord and pass the Eggnog!
CRISTINA so glad the Lexapro is helping my husband would not take his meds he wanted to have his brain and mouth going 100 hrs a min and with pain pill and caffine pills he was flying highost of the time which drove me crazy until I stopped trying to please him and started doing my own thing. I was disappointed that my gentlemen friend had not emailed me today and then delated about 40 gross notes and found he had emailed me last night and probably thought I was advoiding him as I thought he was me usually I get 2 emails a day yesterday it was three -we plan to meet for lunch after the holidays he is cooking a big meal for people who are alone for Christmas at his local bar-I think that is so great-I spent many holidays alone when the husband was in nursing home because he was such a hard person to deal with and it was no fun,
Hmm, I think it willhave to be smile and nod Linda, my mom hates being touched, and by me it seems especially. I remeber her pushing me away when I was 7. I have no pics of her holding me after about then...my brother yes, me no...If I were to try and hug her she would get all upset and fluttery and try to get away from me...don't want to think about that any more..
Kathy, Thank you!!! You are so kind.
Angies Dad must not be quite ready, wonder if he will pass on Christmas Eve? He may just want to be here for one more Christmas with family...I hope she is holding up ok.
Peach where did you find a Peach icon! Cool
Miz "kinda" is a conjunction and rules out run on sentences...have a Great Time in St. Louis say Hi to the Arch for us...
Rosella summer time at high noon sort of floating into the heat and drifting away....?
Hard to imagine heat, it is 25 degrees here...
Irritation is an easy one...He played Jimmy Crack Corn at full volume with his door open today...What did I do...in a past life.... to deserve this?
What ever, Moms last day of work tomorrow, and I think leg bootie on another three weeks and I am gonna get a job, get out, get some money...get out...get some money... you know...life!
Ted, when I say BOAT I mean bring it to my Lake House when I get it and we will all cruise around all day and picnic and swim and that is pretty much perfection to me...If Bobbie can get to the Pacific come up a ways into the Columbia we can port the boat inland to the lakes around here in Washington....
My Mother spits on the wall by her bed and in the KITCHEN sink. I'm grossed out. When she stayed with my daughter for 2 nights she pooped on the bedroom carpet and painted the walls. I haven't had to deal with that. But it grosses me out when she uses my bathroom.
I like the lake house idea, and the get out idea, and the get money idea. Vandyke brown colored substances everywhere... not so much. for some reason mom has been ...less Vandykish lately. I think it's because her appetite has much better and so I've cut down on the Ensure.
Yes bleach the new in home air freshener ..............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................BOAT!
I copy and pasted this over from Dec 08 one of Carols comments...in Holidays and Sibling Criticism...bet that one comes up a lot this time of year...two years later it is like an institution for some of us...I honestly do not remember this situation before I found AC!? It is strange I would have to go look at my journals to see how it started and when...
"Yes, things are changing rapidly, and you have much to offer all of us. The people are here and want to talk. The Internet has made such a difference. I couldn't find time to go to a support group and there wasn't any Internet help when I was in the trenches with so many elders to help. I'm so happy with this site and proud of the people on it."

We have a lake house at Pomme de Terre Lake in central Missouri we are trying to sell.....brought the boat back to our house cuz we thought we had it sold, but the guy that was going to buy it was too stupid to own a boat.....so here it sits for sale....:) 21 ft cabin cruiser.
