When my Dad died, I was happy for him. He had suffered so much. He had dementia at the end and couldn't hack not being able to do the stuff he used to do. Mom never complains.
Jam: Maybe someone could perform an exorcism on your daughters? I think the picture falling the other day was your Mother giving you a head's up about what was going to soon happen. I've ben thinking about it for two days. Not the exorcism, but the picture falling, and what the message could be. Whoop, there it is...whoop there it is.. Gotta go--out with hubby , have a good evening everyone, "love ya, mean it, ciao", from some movie...but I really mean it:) HUGS, Christina
I can't take this any more. I' m goin to jump of the dock and just say "to h#ll with it all Actually, I'm not really going to end it, so just chill out!
Hey guys. You all know me as bobbie's cuz. I'm just a reader of this thread. I found this in one of my files and thought I would share it with you OK?
Smile!!
The Smile Starter! Smiling is infectious, You catch it like the flu. When someone smiled at me today, I started smiling too. I passed around the corner, and someone saw my grin. When he smiled I realized, I'd passed it to him. I thought about that smile, then I realized its worth. A single smile just like mine, could travel the earth. So, if you feel a smile begin, don't leave it undetected. Let's start an epidemic quick, and get the world infected!
I LOVE IT, cuz! It's kinda like that old saying, something about how you can't even have manslaughter, without laughter! Okay okay, so maybe not quite the same thing, but I feel what your sayin' :-)
A smile is the cheapest thing you can give someone, it doesn't cost you a thing, but it can be the most valuable thing one human being can give to another. Smiles have immeasurably changed the world! (and I've got this theory about smiles, that they're the only reason why we put up with clowns...yeah uh huh, see, when ya think about it, it is kinda spooky idnit :-) )
Thanks Christina....but I'm thinking a bullet....she is that evil. And her sister also. I just want them to leave me alone.....I was doing fine without either of them. I don't know why those 2 won't allow me to grieve for my mother in peace, especially since they hadn't seen her in years and can't really say they knew her. Ok...I can't dwell on this anymore, it's just dragging me down and I cannot allow it to do that. Good night all and sleep well!
ss....you ask a very good question....do I love them? I can honestly say no. My son? I would fight to the death for him. The oldest daughter has left me alone since 2001. She was helping me out with vacuuming carpets and dusting in my home, once a week from 11 am to 2 pm. And she was being paid. Didn't really need her to do it, but was trying to help her and her family financially. I overlooked the fact that she was giving out our unlisted phone number to some of her drug friends....hubby was medical examiner at the time....not wise to have listed number. Anyway, nothing was ever dusted and I let it go for several weeks and one day I asked what she had done that day....she always left a note saying what she did. I asked because it said she dusted but the increasing dust remained on tables for all that time. She screamed at me that she was done with me, slammed the phone down and never talked to me again. WTF! Did I deserve that? The younger one decided one day that she couldn't handle her teenage daughter and was sending her to live with her Dad.....I asked her to reconsider that since she had done everything in her power to keep this child away from her father her whole life. I said let her finish out the school year, then send her to Dad for the summer, and if she decides she wants to stay then let that be her decision. Nope, sent her immediately. Then when Aug came around all my daughter did was complain because she didn't like the classes her daughter was enrolled in, and other things, but she was mad because she wanted to control her daughter's life, but not live with her. I told her that she had given up the right to dictate her everyday upbringing by sending her to her father. About a month later in 2008 I got the most horrible, nasty email from this daughter, saying things that no child should EVER say to their parent. This girl is a fake and tried so hard to "fit in" with yuppie friends.....had to have $400,000 house, expensive furniture....shop at Wal-Mart? God forbid......all her yuppie friends had toddlers, not teenagers and she had one.....you get my drift......and now since my mother passed she has attacked me again. I have since found out that one of my sisters has been feeding her information, and not truthful information.....it makes me heartsick to think that she is so mentally ill that she can spew the lies and hatred at me and in the same breath talk about how loving and giving and caring she is. If that is the way they both want to treat me I do not want them in my life. I have my husband, the COL, my son and his family, and my doggies....don't see that I need anything else. I sincerely hope that the rest of you NEVER have to experience this kind of hurt....because it is truly painful.
Good Morning, Friends & Neighbors!! :) We have about 2 inches of snow. It's pretty but it's freakin' cold out there. I'm gonna finally try to get some stuff around here today. Hope hubby feels like helping me. Wish I could put these kitties to work. ;) Maybe they could clean their litter boxes at least. Not really anything to report here. Just trying to stay far away from that black hole. I hope you all have a good day with little grossness. Love yous!!
Don't ever play poker with 'em! I'm totally serious, I've been plumb cleaned out a couple times (you'd think I would have learned the first time, but they get so damn smug), but in my defense, just how are you supposed to tell a bluff with a red nose and fright wig staring down at ya?...yeah, I know, and they look so friendly! Oh, and while I'm on the subject, my recommendation is to avoid a poker table full of horse jockys....I'm here to tell ya, them little fellers sure stick together, when it comes to purloinin' the pockets of us giants at any rate. So the moral of this story, avoid all games of chance with clowns and jockys, they's freakin' brutal is what I'm sayin'! ;-)
We used to have a cat that we called "Freeloader Fred". It was actually a female, but anyway, we would tell her to go get a job!! I would definitely come back to this world as a cat. The self cleaning thing is a little hard to stomach though....hahaha! We had 8 inches yesterday but it's very pretty today! Hope you have a great day. Never mind that black hole... Taking down the tree today and taking Mom grocery shopping (that takes about 2 hours but she likes to go). That's all I'll have time for today.
Jam you could get the last laugh by just deleating those emails before you read them that was what I started doing with my husbands rants on the anawering machine-first I turned it down so did not have to listen to all that shit and then just errased it. I am glad someone took his recorder because at the time I might have listen to his rantings but if it got found now I would just throw away the tape he was slicl he told my son he needed it to record the family history but told me he was going to use it to get something on me. You do not need those toxic people in your life and I would not say anything to the fossil that is feeding her nosense-I hope God gives you an extra measure of happiness today.
thank you austin.....I'm getting over the initial shock of the emails. Inside I guess I am laughing a little......I had forgotten to add that this girl's husband carries dual citizenship.....US and Iran. I bet the name she is so impressed with is on a terror watch list....she used to brag about how they were going to Egypt....bet she would have a hard time getting back into the country....:)
Good Late Morning/Afternoon Friends and Fellow Caregivers: Enjoyed an early evening last night with my husband at our favorite Italian Restaurant. Uno glass of wine, my resolution, since I feel so crappy after the holidays--or whatever it is that is making me feel crappy! Ha!--It's a good excuse. Weekend caregiver has moved in until summer when she will join her family up north. It's a favor to her, but win/win, as she will help with house work and fill in as needed with Mother, especially the much needed date nights with my husband. Remember when I asked my sister if she would consider coming for a few days to stay with Mother, to supervise caregivers, be a family member with history that could jog Mother's memories? Well, that was 3 weeks ago. Yesterday she sends an email, how's Mom?( never asks how I am), didn't she have a dr appt, how did that go?" Then on and on about her social calendar and maybe she would come for a visit when she was "in the area" next week, if that was ok. Isn't it hurtful to ask for a glass of water, and the person pours it out onto your feet? Was it rude for me to ask? Does she not want to spend time with our Mother before she is totally 'gone'? Yesterday late afternoon, I took Mother to a geriatric psychiatrist. The only thing she could remember was her birthday, where she was born(!), and MY name. She couldn't remember her other children, or how many she had, or any of her husband's names, not even the last one, the love of her life, whom she met when she was 72 and he was 76. They got married in '92 and had 16 wonderful years, traveling, entertaining, etc. He died 2 years ago and she can't remember his name. I wrote to my sister this morning and asked her why has she not answered my email, that Mother is not remembering much and there may not be much time for quality interaction. I expect I will get a condemning reply, or none. That is my family. No, THIS is my family, and I have wonderful "Cuz's" too, on my Dad's side, and we communicate daily, just like we do here. We must All try to forget the weeds in the garden and just look at the beautiful flowers. There are so many. The weeds creep in, and they seem to insidiously reappear every year. If we don't give the flowers all the care they need, the weeds do take over. Not in MY garden, they don't! Try worm castings--right, Jsomebody? About clowns: I read the Cuz's smile poem--(Nice to meet you, Cuz. You sure have a nice relative:))--and then thought about clowns. How sweet is a smile from a stranger--haven't you noticed that? Walking along, you pass so many people that look down or away, then you meet a bold soul--like yourself--who openly, forwardly smiles and nods, or goes the distance and speaks. It is a gift to me, each time, because so many cannot be bothered, are afraid, or perhaps, relate more to the smile of a Clown. A clown is fake, shallow, a representation of insincerity, a forced expression. The Clown is really sad inside, the painted smile is exaggerated. It should be scary--I'm with you, Miz--and it is as children we are first subjected to clowns, and the circus. Funny how craziness and chaos are metaphorically called, "A circus". Children, who have no pretense when still innocent, are afraid of the clown because it is fake, and it cannot be trusted. Well, giving the cg a break now. Going for a walk when she comes back, will look for someone on the bridle path to smile to and say hello. Guess who thinks clowns are "Just aDORable!!" in my family? LOL, sadly. HUGS ALL AROUND! Christina xo
I've been deep cleaning the kitchen. I plan to clean one room a day for the next oh however many days. When I was cleaning the kitchen counter (removing all stuff and cleaning behind it), hubby says honey why are you doing that now when you're gonna have to do it again in a few months? He didn't mean to but it kinda burst my bubble. I am too damn sensitive. Anyway, it needed cleaning. I've been wayyyyyyy lax on the housework. I told him he should be glad I feel up to doing it. I think cleaning can be therapeutic. I hate it though. I was obsessive-compulsive about it for so many years that I got soooo tired of it. If we could afford a cleaning service I would hop right on that. Anyways, I'm gonna get back to it. Hope I didn't bore you to sleep. Ifn I did, WAKE UP!! LOL!!
yep why did u change ur name ? at first i thought it was somebody new , was getting ready to say welcome to this site .
miz , im happy ure up to cleaning . in few mos it be less to clean , better now than all to do in few mos . did ur hubby wanna u do nothing ? lol . i need to clean too , with hubby here makes it harder , gosh ! wish he would go outside and play in the snow or something ! xoox
