Hey Bobbie Got Ma home from hospital today. The pain is gone in her jaw and throat. She's really tired now so she said she will sleep and get more better. Luv ya cuz
Hey Cuz! Excellent and I am so happy to hear it. Tell her whassup!
Just got back on the boat and the Cat is letting me know about all kinds of stuff. If I'm understanding what she is saying, right after I left a giant wave came and knocked over the bag of dry food while miraculously leaving all the glasses on the counter and the boxes of Swanson chicken broth upright.
All rightie, the Cat just tried to give herself a high five (wash the South End) and oozed off the table making me snort on myself.
Really happy to hear that my Aunt is out of the hospital. That must have hurt like the Dickens.
Did you guys know that Dickens was paid by the word?
ok, enough free association.
going up the dock for a brew.
any word from Ted?
Really happy to see from you Flex! got your room ready.
Hi Theirdaughter, yep and it gets grosser as time goes on....not only will you be grossed out by dirty face, sticky dirty fingers...wait till you get to Shit-Fest time...ohhh lordy.....yes PoopDays! LOL....that's when the going gets really good...LOL...you have to just grin and bear it. It's amazing what we caregivers find as time goes by what you have to do and how you have to endure it. At first we are befrazzled and bewildered and just hating life...then you slowly learn how to be a caregiver...ackkkkk...where's the rule book?
They REALLY should put all this in HEALTH EDUCATION for high school kids....at the verrrrry end of the class have several days of yes...yes ....yes what they will expect in the future...some inkling would be helpful. Why they don't do this is is just INSANE...some prepwork in life sure would help...why not early in HEALTH EDUCATION IN HIGH SCHOOL??????????????????????????????????????
Rossella, you are so right about the cats and about me. I do worry. :) All the time. My mom used to tell me I came by it honestly cause she was a worrier too.
Hey, all! Been trying to keep up with everyone here. Had a steroid injection in my back last Thursday afternoon. Hurt like h*!l that night but has been getting gradually better since. Hoping it stays that way. Back pain truly sucks. Dad goes in for his pacemaker battery change on Friday. He was in a much better mood this past weekend - wasn't nasty to me at all - amazing, he really can do it if he wants to. Maybe he had a moment of realization that if something happens to me, he's basically screwed. Seems to be feeling pretty good right now though. As I read through the posts, I say a prayer for each and every one of you, of us, for peace, happiness, no poop fests, no pee fests, etc, etc, etc. And even when I don't write, know that ALL of you wonderful, selfless, loving caregivers are always close to my heart. Always remember how amazing you are to give what comfort you can to family when they need it most! Love to all - Kuli
I went to tan after work and what should have taken 10 minutes ended up taking at least 20. The tanning bed was malfunctioning and I ended up switching beds. Come to find out the manager knew that bed was having problems and forgot to tell the night girl. Ah well...there are sure worse things. As we all know. :)

Any of you guys in the north don't have to worry about any snow...it's all here! lol We got between 8-10 inches, depending on where you stand in the yard! There's now an ice crust on it so Shelbie has mastered ice scating!
Since the weather has gotten so bad here we've decided to head on to the boat! Bobbie, we're on our way! Just kidding! Wish we could! Still hoping you're staying warm! Pet the Drrriiiillllllllll for me!
That should be that Shelbie's mastered ice SKATING...she's good, but she can't scat!
This is one of my favorite jokes...
There is a factory in America which makes the Tickle Me Elmo toys. The toy laughs when you tickle it under the arm. A new employee is hired at the Tickle Me Elmo factory and she reports for her first day promptly at 8:00. The next day at 8:45 there is a knock at the Personnel Manager's door. The Foreman from the assembly line throws open the door and begins to rant about the new employee. He complains that she is incredibly slow and the whole line is backing up, putting the entire production line behind schedule. The Personnel Manager decides he should see this for himself so the 2 men march down to the factory floor. When they get there the line is so backed up that there are Tickle Me Elmo's all over the factory floor and they're really beginning to pile up. At the end of the line stands the new employee surrounded by mountains of Tickle Me Elmo's. She has a roll of plush red fabric and a huge bag of small marbles. The 2 men watch in amazement as she cuts a little piece of fabric, wraps it around two marbles and begins to carefully sew the little package between Elmo's legs. The Personnel Manager bursts into laughter. After several minutes of hysterics he pulls himself together and approaches the woman. "I'm sorry," he says to her, barely able to keep a straight face, "but I think you misunderstood the instructions I gave you yesterday"................ Your job is to give Elmo two test tickles".
Love it Peach!! We got snow here. They are saying 3-6 inches today. It's snowing now. So probably a slow day at work. That's okay. I got stuff to do to keep me busy there. I wish I didn't have to get out in this. It would be a nice day for a fire in the fireplace while I dust the living room or not.
Bobbie, are you warm enough?
I hope everyone stays safe today. I saw where they canceled a bunch of flights in Atlanta. Wow!!
I am passing this on to you because it definitely works, and we could all use a little more calmness in our lives. By following simple advice heard on the Dr. Phil show, you too can find inner peace.
Dr Phil proclaimed, "The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started and have never finished."
So, I looked around my house to see all the things I started and hadn't finished. Before leaving the house this morning, I finished off: - a bottle of Merlot - a bottle of White Zinfandel - a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream - a bottle of Kahula - a package of Oreos - the remainder of my old Prozac prescription - the rest of the cheesecake - some Doritos and a box of chocolates.
You have no idea how freaking good I feel. Please pass this on to those whom you think might be in need of inner peace.
Good Morning All, Expecting a snow storm late tonight and tomorrow here in Mass...... Feeling a bit better today. I may not respond here much right now, but i love to read the posts, the jokes make my day. It has been much rougher than I ever imagined it would be. Been doing some YOGA, trying to get my resume done to look for a job.... Cleaning Dad's room.... UGGHHH I get so mad, Why did you leave me Papa.... sounds silly from a 43 yr old woman..... SLEEP..... what is that...... have not slept in what feels like weeks. Tried sleeping pills, no go.... Been doing alot reading on grief... So i know my feelings are normal and that this is a process. HMMM Mom on the other hand, well.... Still spinning in circles all around... lol lol lol....... She had me a bit afraid at first, listening to the sibs, who know nothing about what her and I have been through. But apparently she is slowly coming around..... We have good days and some horrible days, but we are each feeling such a loss..... He was our life All day everyday, filled with the poops, pee, bad moods..... I would not change it for the world though. Hey Miz, Tanning may be a good idea for me!! Lets see, i think that is about it for now for me. Just wanted to check in on my family here. Love to all and hope every ones day is filled with sunshine,,,,,,,, Oh if anyone finds the sun send it my way will ya lol lol..... Angie
Hey everyone! Hope you all are doing well! I'm hangin in there, barely. Looking forward to a break, still haven't finalized mom's respite care but I'm trying to work on it and everything that needs to be done. i think my brain is going on strike, I can't seem to figure anything out so I don't get much done. It's like I'm in shock or something, too much for too long. Overwhelmed. anyway, We had a day of snow here, mostly gone now but of course everything shut down, I don't think this county even owns a snow plow. Not feeling very typative today so I'll write again soon, when I'm not such a mess. Love you and miss you, Ted.
Angie, I can so relate to what you are going through. You will be okay though. It will just take time. I know that tanning is bad for you but it also has it's benefits. You get the light which is good plus at least for me, I feel better about myself. Hang in there, girl. We are all here with you.

Busted Pipes..No, that one wins that throws everything else off, like you know how you can walk around in the dark if you don't want to turn the light on but the moment the power goes OUT you seem to forget where everything is, the flashlight the couch the walls...I mean what is THAT!?
Doing OK here, amazing how much better everyone feels when FP is out of the building...Far Pants Has Left The Building!!!
Gonna have another snow storm here in a few hours, so we are running all our errands and getting ready for a foot of snow or so. But we are used to it, nothing like the South getting hammered, ice isn't like red clay, stocky go no where stuff, man no matter how big your car is and how good your tires ice is ICE! very entertaining if you are not in the pile up!!!
Doing OK here, cousins convinced me going to a homeless shelter was really not a good idea. No way I would be able to handle that sort of environment, raw and dangerous. But feeling better about getting a part time job when my bootie and snow are less an issue. I just have to plan ahead. I think I will be singing up for Safeway, part time, it is on our bus route here and everyone is nice. An important factor for me....We shall see....Just gotta suck it up where I am and be ready for changes when they come....
I hope everyone is doing OK, coming out of the hole here...
good idea j . wait till u have a part time job and go with the flow . one day at a time . i agree homeless shelter would be far worst than begin in ur own bed . once u start working and you ll be happier cuz u have a job and not at home dealin with madness .
feeling blah today , mm maybe i ll take me a hot bath and it may just perk me up some . still snowing out but not as bad or heavy . says suppose to stop at 7 pm . shall see . you guys stay off the ice ! askin for a broken bones or crack heads ! ice is a nightmare on elm street . bobbie , are u getting any snow ? lol hope ure warm . xoxox
of course it's a joke......but don't we all feel sometimes like finishing some bottles? oh wait a minute....I do!
I'm not chastising you girls, but please, please keep a close eye on your skin since you're using tanning beds. And if you use the kind that you lie down on please carry your own antiseptic wipes.....you never know just how well they have been cleaned. We have about 6-8 inches of snow on the ground....I'm too ready for Spring. Hope everyone is keeping warm!
i agree with you jam , after seeing dad s face poppin out with cancers and his arms , im staying away from the sun . hell i get brown in the shade . i used to go to tanning bed , was faithfuly about it i like the stand up one , i excersise while im standin lalala . havent been to one in 4 yrs now . and many years of laying out during teenager years , wow red lobster i was . now im too old for that crap . i careless anymore . yep i ll help u slurp up all the bottles JAM , :-) ok bath time for me xoxo
Jam, I have a lot of unfinished things! I would take me 2 lifetimes to get to them all! Guess finishing off bottles IS a better idea!LOL! I'm with you on tanning beds. My daughter got a staff infection on her leg 5 years ago. White cell count was 21,000+. Could have killed her if we had waited another day! Doctor said to 2 places people can pick up these infections are from gym equipment and tanning beds. Make sure you clean them well before using them. Daughter doesn't do either. Still can't figure out where she got it from. Linda, no fun without water! Especially the pissy clothes and bodies! Had to have a guy come out here at 10pm on Sunday night, once. Sewer line backed up into the cellar sink! Couldn't flush or run water and there were people living in all 4 apartments at the time. What a mess! Angie, Hope Mom listens to you for guidance! Jen, Getting ready for a major storm here too. Will be the first big one of the season. We're in the 12" area. Went out this morning and did my errands so I can stay in tomorrow. Kids are off work, so they will do the snow blower and shovel. My shoulder still can't take all the shoveling it used to. Ted, I'm sure you are overwhelmed by the fact that you are actually getting away. It will be good for you and Mom. Hope you have some good stories for all of us when you get back! Cuz, Thanks for the jokes! Felt good to laugh! Got to save some of them for my husband. Peach, You have stolen our winter allowance for snow! That's okay, we didn't want it anyway!!! Miz, I need some of your ambition to get things cleaned up around here. Or maybe I should just hire you! Wanna come visit? LOL!!! Got to get a few things done before I get Mom from daycare. It will be canceled tomorrow for sure and I will be saddled with her company all day. Hope you all have a good day, and be careful when you go out. No more slipping on ice please!!!
Crock pot of chili on for tonight....sun shining but only 12 degrees. Back is killing me from moving col around two nights ago. All she has done is sleep....but got up sometime last night, threw doggie treats all over the floor and turned off her humidifier....God forbid she should go do something like PEE.......really just in one of those moods today. Took some ultram, waiting for it to kick in. Think I will go to craft room and weed out pics of self-centered brats and rotten siblings......will make my scrapbooking load a little lighter. Going to box up the pics and put them away.....but right now will not waste my time with people who hate me and think I've done something horrible by taking care of my mom. Going to have a removable bidet attachment put on col toilet....am hoping that will help to keep her a little cleaner. While my handyman is here have to have him look at shower in my bathroom.......3 yrs ago we bought tub/shower combo.......and then we built bathroom around it.... Now the damn thing is leaking somewhere under it because the floor is wet underneath after using it and is leaking under a wall. It sits on concrete slab and when we had plumber here a month or so ago he said "if we have to take it apart, it will never go back in right".......oh good grief why can't this just be simple? When the builder installed it I asked him to put in an access panel from the back of the house just in case we needed to reach the control panel....but no he wouldn't do it. I DO NOT want to have to redo the whole thing......I like my tub. Hubby is getting ready to submit resignation to retire and this is not the time to be spending money that way. I don't even have the gumption to crochet! And I've been trying to get myself motivated to finish reupholstering some dining chairs...finishing bottles sounds better. I need some mental energy...I keep blaming things on losing mom and the ordeal with the former children and sibs....someone give me a kick in the posterior and tell me to get on with it and stop beating myself up. I think our little 2 day trip to St. Louis will help me a lot......can't wait for the end of the month. Then Vegas in April.....yippeeee!
Bobbiecuz, I loved your 23 "thoughts". The one I liked more: "You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day." Well, for me it becomes: "there comes a moment when you know that you aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of your LIFE!" And I don't care! I understood I am a meteoropathic: after 3 weeks of constant bad weather, the last 3 days here the weather has been fantastic. Sort of a spring in the middle of winter. Sunny, warm! I am so happy and smile and clap my hands, just because of that. So I have understood that I don't care doing anything productive, from now on. I just need the sunshine! When I am older I think I am going to live further further south

22. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time.
23. The first testicular guard, the "Cup," was used in Hockey in 1874 and the first helmet was used in 1974. That means it only took 100 years for men to realize that their brain is also important.
Ladies.....Quit Laughing.
Since the weather has gotten so bad here we've decided to head on to the boat! Bobbie, we're on our way! Just kidding! Wish we could! Still hoping you're staying warm! Pet the Drrriiiillllllllll for me!

Before leaving the house this morning, I finished off:
- a bottle of Merlot
- a bottle of White Zinfandel
- a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream
- a bottle of Kahula
- a package of Oreos
- the remainder of my old Prozac prescription
- the rest of the cheesecake
- some Doritos and a box of chocolates.
You have no idea how freaking good I feel. Please pass this on to those whom you think might be in need of inner peace.
Angie

I hope everyone is doing OK, coming out of the hole here...
i agree homeless shelter would be far worst than begin in ur own bed . once u start working and you ll be happier cuz u have a job and not at home dealin with madness .
feeling blah today , mm maybe i ll take me a hot bath and it may just perk me up some . still snowing out but not as bad or heavy . says suppose to stop at 7 pm . shall see .
you guys stay off the ice ! askin for a broken bones or crack heads ! ice is a nightmare on elm street .
bobbie , are u getting any snow ? lol hope ure warm . xoxox
Hope everyone is keeping warm!
after seeing dad s face poppin out with cancers and his arms , im staying away from the sun . hell i get brown in the shade .
i used to go to tanning bed , was faithfuly about it i like the stand up one , i excersise while im standin lalala . havent been to one in 4 yrs now . and many years of laying out during teenager years , wow red lobster i was .
now im too old for that crap . i careless anymore .
yep i ll help u slurp up all the bottles JAM , :-)
ok bath time for me xoxo
The one I liked more:
"You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day."
Well, for me it becomes: "there comes a moment when you know that you aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of your LIFE!"
And I don't care!
