RE: Siblings and relatives.
I have reached the peace of mind.
My brother comes every 3 weeks or every month and he stays for 2 or 3 hours. Apart from that, he NEVER calls.
My mother's siblings: MISSING. They don't call they don't come.
I feel my mother and I are the only family we both have and occasionally there are some "strangers" making a phone call.
I live much better, now. Happiness is in resignation.
RE: poop. You have to find that particular food that stimulates poop. For my mother it is the semolina. When she eats it, the same evening she goes to the bathroom. It took 2 years for us to discover which was!

Rosella, Jam, Deefer: I find that my Swedish meatballs, a al Scandia Restaurant, really help my Mother go. At one time, they were causing my husband to be deathly ill. I think it was the allspice, so I tossed it and bought a new one. However, from time to time throughout our marriage--not now, but in the beginning first 10 years when he was SO difficult to train--I would offer to make him Swedish meatballs, and he would quickly shape up. He is so perfect now, I don't know what I would do without him...probably go to the BOAT!! Whoo Hoo!!

I believe it is Nutmeg that is the spice used for Sweedish Meatballs.
Curry will also make you go..it is a natural laxative.

My mom is not eating so much any more...the poopfests where getting to be a big hassle...but since she is eating less, it's creating less havoc in the last few weeks. But boy she can still dial my phone number a million times with a million of sick sounding loud hellos repeated over and over..how insane...I just cannot leave work and get to her house quick enough...no sense left in that tiny senseless brain...she cannot realize I am leaving work around 6 and have to jump on the freeway and fight traffic untill I get there around 6:30 to 7:00 depending on when I actually leave work......ack...so tired of it all! She is just languishing and keeping that little bit of control she thinks she can still muster up over me...just a matter of time...Father Time will win in the end.

I'm toast!!! 2 hours on the second floor porch roof, throwing a couple tons of snow over the edge. Then back to the yard to snow blow the hard compacted snow out into the yard. Mom behaved very well while I was outside. I only fell once when I slid on my butt down the ledge under the dormer trying to climb back in the attic window. Lex and I were laughing so hard I couldn't get back up! Now my arms, hands, ribs, hips, and bad shoulder are screaming, but at least the roof won't cave in. Gonna need to ice that shoulder tonight for sure!
Bobbie, You feeling any better?
Cabbage!!! Anything made with cabbage! Never met anyone it didn't work for.
SS, Rossella is right. Soon you will realize that if you stop thinking about help from sibs, you will have one less thing to stress you out. They aren't going to change, so cut your losses and give yourself the gift of one less thing adding to your stress!

chillout, I used to give Mom stool softeners and they did not help much. If I tried anything stronger she had wicked diarrhea. It was frustrating. I never tried Metamucil though.

J, I reckon there is a risk with any job. I worry someone might bring a gun into my work and tell me to give them all the money. But, I really really doubt it will ever happen. I could get sick from handling money (who knows where it's been) and so on and so forth. I guess pick whatever scares you the least. What would you like to do the most? Do you like flowers and/or baking? I understand your fear, I really do. I deal with the public and sometimes it's hard. I just make myself do it. You will be fine. If you can deal with what you have dealt with at home all this time then you can do anything.

love,
miz

I bought prune juice, but haven't dared to give it to my Mom. One of these days I'll try it on her.
Jen, you might like your coworkers, have fun there, and look forward to going, and not to mention the paycheck.
Ted, have a great respite week.
Christina, sorry about the stuff with your sister.

Merallax is good for constipation I am not sure if you need a script it takes a few days but if taken regularly it usually does the trick. They are already talking about our next storm-I feel quilty about not doing the drive but my babyblower does not work and my neighbors will not let me on the tractor and I did pay my dues.

I tried Merallax on Mom and it gave her wicked diarrhea. It could have been a coincidence, I don't know. Her doc told me to give it to her. I didn't try it again after that. The diarrhea was so nasty and I worried she would get a UTI from it.

Also for you garden lovers...a new movie Feb 11
Gnomeo and Juliet --- all about Garden Gnomes..which I have a very very very large assortment of...cannot wait for it to come out...

Beverly Hills Chihuahua Part 2....looks really cute with Papi getting married to the girl chi....and its all about their family of new pups....I read today that Papi was actually rescued before he was to be 'put down' at an animal shelter..the director had researched for the right pup and when he saw (Rusco) he had to have him and almost missed getting him...story brought tears to my eyes...saved from death and now a movie star....oh if only they could all be saved!

True Grit...looks really good....seems they followed the storyline to it's original beat..hurrah! I watched the original one recently...what fantastic places they filmed at..on youtube someone has went back to all the places they filmed at to see what they would look like now...wow such beauty in this country!

Hey True! Good for you! I could use a paycheck. What exactly do you do on your computer?
Bobbie!!!! Company coming soon! That should lift your spirits! Glad you are feeling better.
No gross out story this AM. That's a good thing, I think. Just wish I could get her to stop holding her breath!!! Does anybody else have this problem? She clamps her mouth shut and won't open it until she is purple, then it's a huge mouth fart as the air is expelled!

Okay, I'm back! Just had to roll Mom onto her side so she could rest a bit more. Still clamping her mouth shut! Thought maybe it was something she was doing because of the UTI, but she is better with the cipro, except for the breathing thing while she is in bed.
I would take any suggestions you have to help with this behavior! There she goes again!

Please!!! If you hear me say I'm going out to shovel, tell me NO!!!! Too sore to breath today!! Feel like I was run over by a very large truck!!! Maybe wrestling Mom around will loosen me up a bit. Just have to keep telling myself that I'm not 25 anymore! Hope everyone has a great day!
