Linda, please, don't change your name (unless you want to escape the Scooter's lady). There is already enough confusion in my head. Is it SSkape who wants to rent an apartment to a lady with a scooter? Is it the same lady as Linda's? My head is turning and turning and turning.

Hi guys Maxine here Linda you were so good not to say something to that rude scooter lady my husband use to do that with his w/c get in everyone's way he would embarrass me so at church -I had asked someone to pick him up twice a month and I would go the other 2 weeks alone. Jam caregivers are extra-ordinary folks Linda do not change your name this old has enough problems anyway I know you so well it will not work I watched the Betty White movie and cried an ocean-I think a lot had to do with me being a kid during the war and you would not hear from the guys for weeks on end and my father never would tell us much and would not talk about it when he came home Rosellmax I am so sorry you are down Ano- I agree with MIZ We are expecting 2 storms tomarrow and next day one of snow and the next ice and sleet then another on Sat-glad I have mysteries to read and Sat Halmark Ch will have sappy love stories Everyone stay out of the black hole and if you are in one let us know and we will dig you out.
Austin, I love mysteries! When I walk the dog I read them and I don't look in front of me, and I always finish up with my shoes in the puddles. My favourite one is Anne Perry, now, but I passed through the Agatha Christie, Ed McBain, Gideon Fell and also Ellery Queen stages. And also Nero Wolfe and Charlie Chan. I am mixing writers and detectives... And Philo Vance. Which is "yours"? We have Halmark channel, too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Better dig in.....we are forecast for 18 to 22 inches of the white stuff by tomorrow night.....hubby slipped on the ice couple of hours ago....just got through putting 12 staples in the back of his head....ouch...:(
I just got home from awhile ago and my car was covered with ice when I left work. More ice tonight and tomorrow and 6-10 inches of snow tomorrow night. Before they were saying 12-18 so I guess that's better. God I hate Winter.

Yep, Linda. Got me a carton yesterday. And groceries, thank God. We're getting ice here. Ice predicted tomorrow and then lots of snow. Florida can't come soon enough. I feel bad saying that for all of you that can't go now. :( Hubby's gonna take me to work tomorrow. I doubt we'll have many customers but there is always the mail. I drove really slow coming home tonight. Had to scrape and scrape my car. I'm tired of it already. Sorry, I'm bitchin'. :D
sucks scrapin ice off the windows and have to let it warm up real good too , ah well soon u ll be takin off unless the dont cancle ur flights :-( i sure hope not !
Rossellamax Right now I am reading books by Mary Higgins Clark and her daughter Carol Higgins Clark Jam -so sorry about you hubby-did you say he put the stapples in himself-does he not trust the other ER doc's When my son almost cut off one of his fingers his ex wife who was his girlfriend at the time asked the surgeon how many of these operations he had done and he said a couple and she asked for someone who had done more than a couple then she really started bugging him and he said are you the wife she said no the girlfriend and he would not talk to her anymore-I fall so much and always since being a kid my son tells people I fall over the yellow line in the road. Now I keep an eye on my feet-tonight my feet got tangles in my yarn and if it was not for my cat playing with it I probably would have fallen-I have the lifeline necklace I had for my husband but feel too young to wear it or too proud-we are getting snow tonight and either snow or sleet tomorrow-wish we had a choice.
austin , u better just sit all night long , lay back read those books , crawl to the bathroom if u have to . dont want to risk it at this time of the storms . my sister said ur cat almost trip me 2 times ! i looked at louie and told him not to be doing that again . sis looked at me funny like he suppose understand what i said , lol well ahh she just gonna have to look around and make sure he s not at her feet . ok i better start fillin up buckets of waters , its been bothering me so i better go and do em . xoxo
Nope, hubby doesn't want anyone else touching him.....kind of funny like that.....I'm yelling at him that we need to go to ER and he's yelling back NOOOOOO........so I stapled him back together. Never done that before....but he explained how to do it and it actually looks pretty good. He took a good nap afterward and woke up and said he felt okay.....didn't even take any pain medication. Took 12 staples to close....that's a lot and without lidocaine to numb the skin.....gives me the shivers. Ice is getting thicker on surfaces.....upper deck is like a skating rink, having to put the doggies out the garage door. Snow tomorrow......maybe 18 inches. Has anyone read the book Sisters by Danielle Steel? I really enjoyed it. And the Diana Gabaldon series is terrific.
miz his head is too hard!!! lol He had a venous stasis ulcer on his inner left ankle for 5 yrs and took care of it himself. It was about the size of a silver dollar, open to the bone. Made me ill to look at it. He has horrible circulation and in the Fall of 2009 his left foot swelled so much that the skin on the underside of his toes "blew open". And the fool kept walking and working and he developed a pseudomonis infection which could have easily killed him. Well that's when I dug my heels in and said stop....and for once he agreed. Off work for 3 months with i.v. and I had to inject meds slowly over 20 min period twice a day plus change his bandages 3 times a day. Couple weeks after that started I hurt myself at work so it was really a blessing because I could take care of him better. Got him cleared up, but that ankle could open again real easy. It's especially hard walking the ER for 12 hours, so he's looking at retirement starting March 1st probably. Now that I've turned everyone's tummy, think I will find something to eat.........Hugz to all and please stay safe and warm.
Sorry I haven't been posting much lately, but I have been trying to keep up with everyone just the same. Luckily we won't have any ice here in SC. Please be careful and keep yourselves and loved ones safe and warm.
yep jim , need buy alot of toothbrushes and hide alot of things too , put a padlock on em :-) hope and pray she didnt use your hairbrush to clean the toliet with .
bad here ice every where . stay home and be safe . xoxo
Wow Jam, your husband did not want the other doctors of the ER to staple him because he did not trust them? This is not very encouraging for us who have to go to the hospitals!!!! Austin I'll try Carol Higgins Clark. Night everybody! Uneventful day, here
Wow - we have a "blizzard warning"! Unbelievable - yet can't help but keep hoping for a "snow day" from work!!!!! Sorry to hear there have been hurt feelings - guess our feelings are just too close to the surface sometimes that it gets hard to not take things personally. Christine - please keep that in mind - everyone here is here because they need a place to vent so don't take one person's venting as a personal thing. Please don't think you should leave or feel the need to go anonymous here. We're all here for each other because we're all in the same boat. Did someone say boat?????? Love you, Bobbie. None of us would be here without you! Hope you're feeling better. Think of all of us out here in snow and ice as you enjoy your boat time. Cheers to all - Kuli
Good Early Morning Caregivers! It's before dawn here. the boat was hauled yesterday to in front of the work sheds in a lineup of other boats who are getting a 'hard sanding' on their bottoms. Heads should be finished today and the bowthruster install begins today. Other than that we have the watermakers and a broken window to repair and then some electronics work. I am closer to the train tracks than before if you can believe that and now I can snore right through a train horns and all. This time they blocked the boat with more sets of blocks and roped the jacks off and now she hardly vibrates at all! Scared me a few days ago.... Tomorrow they will sand the bottom and the Cat and I have to figure out another place to be or we will be driven insane. Have to get the crazy stuff out of the way before Miz and Peach come! I am trying to steel myself to go back and deal with mom's house and stuff and it's not working too well. I am in a state of dread. Thank God Miz and Peachie are going to come and we can have a few days of hootin and hollerin. thanks everybody for your messages of love and I so appreciate it. What everyone is going through with the snow and ice, staples in the head, Linda's Pa with a different antibiotic, broken pellet stoves, crazy siblings, crazy mamas, sore shoulders and everything else... I love you guys and thanks for being there for me and everybody else! lovbob.
Bobbie, I can't wait to get there and have a fun and crazy time. Try not to worry about what is ahead. One day at a time, one hour at a time, one minute at a time and so on. I know, easier said than done. I've made my list of what to bring and am ironing most of what needs it so hopefully won't have to iron much there. I'm kinda weird about it. Hate to wear wrinkle clothes. Hopefully I can relax about that. I can't believe that you and Peach and I are going to finally meet!! How awesome!! I'm waiting on my other boat shoes. Hope this nasty weather doesn't slow them up. Ah well, they are just shoes. :)
We're bracing for this Winter storm coming. Sounds like it's gonna get really bad tonight. I've had enough!! Don't like it. Don't want no more. I hope everyone stays safe and warm. Do not get out unless you have too if the storm is in your area!! There, the mother hen in me has had her say. And no shoveling unless you absolutely have to!!!! Hopefully hubby can keep up with it with our snow blower. He's gonna take me to work today. I was supposed to meet some friends for lunch but I'm afraid I'll have to cancel that. Better safe than sorry.
Okay. Love yous!! Thanks so much for being here!! No more drama!!!!
good morning Miz, glad you are gettting excited about the visit to the BOAT. ! Snowing here, pretty to look at, but not to shovel. We usually end up with rain and don't get as much as where Deef lives. I plan to get a book to read and might try the authors someone mentioned on here. A friend told me that she likes the game Scrabble Flash. It's an electronic scrabble game, I guess. I hope you all will take lots of pictures and we get to see them! have a good day ssk
Hellos and Hugs to all.........sorry I have not been around lately. Been trying to keep up as much as possible. Mom not doing good....awake alot at night.....thinking its time to get up every few hours. Legs are like wet noodles which is especially hard considering she is 5'8" and I am 5'2". She has a neuro appt. the end of Feb. Have noticed BIG changes, and not good ones. I'm very tired and very sore....prayers please. All of you in the northern states be extra careful....Blessings to all.
chillout, you have my prayers. Are you sure you should wait for the doctor until the end of February?? That's a long time for you to handle all of this. Big hugs to you, sweetie.
I can't believe the snow and I'm not even in it. Please DEEF!!! don't shovel! What miz said! Hey ssk have fun with the book! I like to hole up with the book. another very effective escape mechanism. We should come up with the Venting Book Club. If we called it the Grossed Out Book Club everybody would think we're reading medical textbooks. Jam... you're good, no kidding. OK... here's how scattered I am. I'm shooting vid so in this case you follow the action. They just fired up the travel Lift that is still sitting over the boat so I'm thinking, cool, I'll get the shot where they're pulling away. So I'm shooting away and I start to smell baked items. I'm thinking, man that smells good. I sure am hungry and I need to find that stuff. Then it's oh ya, I put bagels in the toaster oven. I got the shot tho.
I agree please: just roll with it y'all. For those that are wound a little tighter, just know we get it and we love ya and there it is. work whatever it is out and we'll see you then! it's ok. it's ALL ok.
We all have our little things we do and we all get along pretty good and that's what matters at the end of the day. All we can do is try to be good to each other and that's all that I'm trying to do now.
Flex! good to see from you! Be as good to yourself as you can.
