Peach and Bobbie and Miz--Would you like me to send y'all a box of See's Candy to share on the BOAT? I can ship today to Peach and she can bring. Let me know. Love you, christina
No trouble. I keep my Mother supplied with it; it's the least I can do for my friends as they go on a Bon Voyage. I didn't think See's was available back there...
Rosella, it's not that he doesn't trust them although one of them is an idiot. He doesn't like anyone to see him with a weakness...I guess that's the way to put it.....when his ankle and foot got so bad in the Fall of 2009 he finally stopped when he just could not walk anymore......but he would not go to the local wound care clinic......he went to another hospital an hour away. The majority of doctors out there are highly skilled and I wouldn't hesitate for one second allowing them to treat me or any of my family.....but there are some that are dumb and just not capable of doing the job. There are so many things that happen on the sidelines that the ordinary person doesn't see and they have no idea what is going on behind that nurses station desk. There is a shortage of good doctors and the nurses are coming straight out of school and don't know squat. The hospital runs off the good ones because they won't pay well enough. They just had to have this new hospital but wouldn't hire the extra people to staff it.....the old er had 3 rooms, which the staff pulled a curtain between and put two beds in each room to accommodate more patients. The new hosp. has 11 rooms and still only one doctor at a time. Most of the nurses are new and untrained and it is not unusual for hubby to look around needing one....well they have ALL run off to the cafeteria to get something to eat. Or when he orders something they look at him and say what? Or they are busy texting on their phones and not doing anything else. Sometimes there can be a couple of legitimate chest pains, a stroke, maybe a bowel obstruction, broken bones, severe breathing problems all at the same time......then here comes someone complaining of a toothache or "my back hurts" and "I just need something for pain"......oh really, well the policy is you have to submit to urine drug screen....most times they bolt out the door...other times they wait it out and the results come back showing usually high levels of THC and benzos.....and then they get mad and yell and cuss because they don't get their "fix". Mind you while the docs are playing with these folks the legit ones are having to wait. It's a nightmare and I am so glad that hubby is getting out of there before he is hit with a massive lawsuit. He really is a good doctor and will be missed greatly.....the number of people who have thanked him for "saving their life" over the years is staggering. And he won't be there anymore to gloss over the little mistakes some of them make......why cause a big incident report and someone's job over some little boo-boo that wouldn't make a difference in a patient's outcome...he never let's the big ones pass.....but there will be no protection anymore once he is gone. Sooooooo.....in the hour and a half I have been up we have gotten another couple of inches of snow, wind is blowing, cold, traffic has slowed to a crawl and this storm is headed northeast..generator is good to go if needed, plenty of food, dog's can pee on a snowdrift.....it's all good. We live off a two-lane paved county highway, can usually see the road from front window...it's all white now, can't tell a road is even there.
Ok I've babbled and bitched enough for one morning.....going to check the col and make sure there are no doggie messes for me to clean up. Hugz to all! Stay safe and warm........
christina, it's not available here. We have Fanny Maye but it's not as good. When I lived in So. Cal. I could get See's. Thank you so much for offering to do that. :)
Got about 5' of the white stuff already! Yikes, predicting another 18-24" for Weds. into Thurs.!@#@! Worst part is no daycare for MOM and no Merry to help. Too nasty for her to drive here. So.... SIL and Lex are out doing the first shift of many. Trying to get ahead of the stuff! Worst part is the cold temps this time. I'm staying in with Mom for now, but if she is behaving, I'll be heading out to help the kids with the second round! Feel bad that they are on vacation this week, but am happy I'm not home alone cleaning up a place for them to park! Looks like we'll be up on the roof again this afternoon. Got to shovel it off and knock off more icicles. So far only leaking on the back porches. Nothing coming down the walls in the house yet. Good thing Mom had the roofs all done about 5 years ago. It cost $25,000, but it sure made a difference! Sorry guys! I have to shovel! Bobbie, I'm not looking forward to paperwork messes down the road either. Mom signed over this house to me last year and I am having trouble keeping up with all the bills. Used to file short form for taxes, now I need an accountant and am not even sure where to start and what all I need. Just going to do the best I can!!! Miz!!!! Boat!!!! You are so lucky to be going. Hope your travel plans don't get messed up and you have a wonderful time on the boat!!! Diane, Good to hear from you! We know busy! Christina, Welcome back!!! Jam, sorry about hubby's head. How are you doing? Austin, Book reading, perfect pastime for a snowstorm. Got me an e-reader with my X-mas $. Been downloading free books and enjoying a good read for the first time in a while. I find that my eyes don't bother me as they did with a regular book. And I can read in a dark room! Love those free books!!! Linda, I'll send some snow your way! I don't want your ice though! That would suck terribly on top of all this snow!!! Rossella, sorry all you help is not cooperating! It's bad enough we have to rely on others for relief, and worse when we can't! Ssk, Looks like you will get some this time! Hope you get yourself a renter. I'm in the process of cleaning the spare apartment for my SIL's brother and wife. They hope to be moved in by the end of this month. Can't wait for the extra$ to start coming in! I know I'm forgetting lots of people, but I wish you all a peaceful day and hope most of you are safe from this nasty white stuff!!!
OK--it's done. Tell Peach if she doesn't see this, it's on the way. Need to read Jam's post, but giving Mother her fruit and yogurt right now. She wonders why she doesn't have my undivided attention. what else is new? Chillout, prayers to you and MOM. yes, get her to walkin or emergency. Kuli, thanks for your sweet words. Elizabeth, Linda, Deefer, thanks for your support. I'm obeying the Captain, so I'm here. Please forgive my skittish ways. Trying to get some time for myself. Hugs, christina
chillout, that sounds like a good plan. deef, please be careful on that roof and with the shoveling. Wow, jam, it sure is a good thing your hubby is retiring. It's a damn shame there are so many incompetents out there in the medical field. As patients we expect them to all know what they are doing. I know that I had to/chose to watch Mom like a hawk when she was in the hospital. In general, everyone was wonderful but there were things that I saw that I think they would have missed if I hadn't been there. I can think of one right now anyway. I guess it's public beware. Hubby is out salting the walkways now. The snow has stopped at least for now but I know there is more coming. I sure hope it's not really bad when I get off work at 5:00. At least with him taking me to and from, I won't have to dig out the car. Thank God for him!! :) Love yous!!
I am a sorry ass. And here's why: everybody is writing about important stuff in their lives and all I know is: SEE'S CHOCOLATE!!!!! ohboyohohboyohboyohohboy. Thanks Christina! woohoo. Many beautiful horses are skittish. They calm down when they know they are safe.
Hey I wish all I had right about now is a big ole box of See's chocolate....Christina is going to make me go out online and order some, haven't had any in a long time and she's right, it's sooooooo good!!!!!! On the other hand I LOVE Ethel M's pecan brittle....eat the whole darn box all by myself.
oh my goodness , bad bad outside , we re in fr blizzard ice storm . ifu dont hear from me it is cuz the power has broken . sis made cookies so we wont go hungry if power goes out . made ham n beans in crock pot last night so thats for supper here in a min . you all take care and stay in the covers ! we brought in bunch more wood . slip slide out there damn ! now im ready for nap . xoxox
Hope everybody from Dallas to Maine stays safe, know you are getting hammered there. Keep on tap candles fresh water batteries medications and a book or some cards if power goes out. Stay Sane while waiting it out! Stay safe! Did major ice storm 2008 here (Spokane, WA) , would not care to repeat it...!
Sorry everybody for your snow, ice, problems of every kind. Hope you stay safe and warm in your houses... We are starting to see the end of winter. Resist! Jam, I see you husband won't miss the ER. Couldn't he continue being a doctor somewhere else? Or he is totally tired and wants to stop? Deef, I talked to the girls and told them I am too tired to take care of everything. I hope they understood. After all, they have a rest every weekend! Christina, don't change. There is room for every personality, here! If we vere all alike it would be boring. By everybody stay safe. Bobbie I am glad you are going to be visited by Miz and Peach. Are they coming together?
We will probably end up with 2 ft of snow before this blows out of here.....it's all headed northeast and should be there by now...this is a massive storm.....the neighbors van is stuck at the entrance to our driveway....if power goes out in town my son and daughter-in-law won't be able to get their car in...leave it and walk I guess, but I'm hoping nothing happens.
Maybe we should have shirts with a pic of See's candy.....under it says "Bite Me".......lol
Yep, it's pretty bad out there. Hubby snow blowed so maybe it won't be as bad in the morning but if we get what they say we're gonna get, I don't know. What a mess!! We had people leaving work early right and left. But not our department. We had to stay. But I should not complain cause hubby picked me up and we need the money. Tonight and tomorrow there will be more snow and there's a blizzard warning out. There's a basketball game tonight. We haven't been doing so good. Wasn't sure they were going to play with this weather but the other team got there early and the game goes on. Hope you are all warm and dry.
I've been watching snow blowing sideways for about 3 hours now. Unbelievable. But - OMG, snow day tomorrow!!!!! We were all saying at work how we felt like kids again having a snow day. I'm so glad I don't have to think about going ANYWHERE tomorrow. And I won't have to worry if dad's ok all day. So - SCORE!!!! Everyone else, hope you are safe and can find peace tonite. Love to all - Kuli
power is still on , flcikered on and off several times , heard a hellva noise ahh the trees out front is hittin the roof and the side of the house , i went out to ck it out , alot of broken tree limbs everywhere , wind a howlling , 30 to 40 mph wind , feb is always the worst month , heard we re gettinmore snow this weekend , oh great ! i am so ready for spring , pa sleepin on and off all day , just dont look too good , :-(

Everyone stay safe and hope no oe lives in Chiago they are getting it bad.
Don't worry, crew members, we will all make it through the storm. HUGS and Prayers to all of you in extreme weather. Jam, How about, "You think I look sweet? Bite Me"! What you sees is what you gets. JK. I'm not continuing with the possible slogans, don't worry. Stay SAFE, Friends:) christina
Maxine, I love the idea that you want to feed well your cat so he is not pissed off and works as a radiator. (you always have to bribe them!). A dog, it would be enough to call him. "Jasper! Come here! Come heat your momma's feet!" and he would come without discussion.
