My cat has changed, as you pointed out, Rossella. She sleeps downstairs on the back of LR sofa, outside my Mother's room. She runs halfway upstairs calling me when Mother wakes up at night. I hear her first on the baby monitor, and hear Sanura in stereo--live and over the receiver. She comes into the bathroom and waits for her. Her presence is relaxing, and she is a very visible and vital member of this family:) She loves people tuna, and when she was sick a few months ago, that's all I gave her: solid white albacore. A Fancy Feast upgrade.

So glad Pa is better, Linda, and Hubby took care of him for you:) You rest today and everything will be taken care of, OK? Sue: thanks for Groundhog info!!! All I know is Bill Murray movie, and that guy cracks me up just looking at him! Hubby was in a golf tournament with him once, but hubby does not know ANY celebrities, or cares for that matter!!! hehe Once he had a meeting in Hollywood "with some guy named Denzel, or something like that, and another guy named Joe (Jackson), I think". He is too much. He's Grounded. TG. Where is everyone? I hope safe, warm, not shoveling, not without electricity... Love you guys:))) Hey, Peach, Miz, Captain: See's is on it's way to first destination, and will be there on the 4th, so Peach--head's up. I was so happy when the order was complete and knew it would get there on time, I started crying, and the See's lady on phone asked me what was wrong. I said, nothing, I am so excited for my friends to get together on the BOAT, and so happy I can share with them in this way. She said, "Wow. Caregivers are such special people". I know. AND, Mother slept until 6:30, was in a good mood, and went back to sleep until 8:15, and I got my bills paid and my desk cleaned up, and coffee all finished before I went downstairs. Thank you, God. Pirate, Chillout, CC, Headbanger, Jam, LINDA, ELIZABETH, Miz, Peach, Rosella, TED, SSK, Angie, Selfish Siblings,JEN, MAXINE, and last, but not least: Courageous Captain:))) LOVE, christina
Hi everyone! Passing out the hugs for those who are stuck in horrible weather conditions and to those who are just trapped in routine conditions.
I am so mired in routine I could cry. My husband stayed home feeling ill today, his presence during the day has upset my applecart. I'm so stuck in Grans routine that I can't seem to adjust to him being home. What is up with that?
After losing power for so long last week our house was thankfully spared from the dire weather that was forcast for our area. In spite of predictions, we still have blue skies outside.
Take it easy on yourselves! Watch those precious backs if you must shovel and take frequent breaks.
aww christina , doesnt it make u feel like u could go too the boat ? i wish i could but some day i will , u will too , just hang in there . the time isnt for us yet . oh forgot to mention where s bobbie , im missing her too ! hope shes happy camper getting the boat all done and put back on the water for miz and peachie . if its not done im sure they could have fun as well on the jacks . :-) hubby ask me i f i wanted a beer i said well lets see today is weds , yep i ll have one . celebration for the ground hog day , i am cold now so one beer is done and now its bath time , i kept sayin bath since yesterday , bye u all , stay warm !! wheres miz ? im surprise she didnt say good morning , waaaaaaaaaaa . love you all xoxo

LInda Heart:) Yea, we'll all be there someday! Whoo Hoo!! Bobbie busy on BOAT, yes. Miz ironing, packing, getting tan enough--haha--in prep for REAL tan, Peachie getting her ducks in a row--doncha think? Pedicures, and all that jazz. Hey, Lindaheart: somedays I ask, "Is it 5 o"clock yet?" all day long. But I wait. sigh. Pa is better, yes? You rest today and let hubby keep busy, waiting on you, too. haha I love it when that happens! heehee Headbanger, just make some hot tea with lemon and honey and sit with Hubby and enjoy your time with him home today:) You go go go, and don't think just to get through the day, right? Where is that pile of snow to stick our heads in? Hugs, christina
Looks like everyone is getting through the day just alright. Trying to clear paths out....didn't get as much snow as forecast...only got about 18"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our neighbor boys cleaned our driveway so hubby can get his car out.......that was so sweet of them....bought them McDonald's gift cards last time, not sure what I will get them this time. Maybe FairyTale brownies....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Hubby's hard little head is healing just fine. Got word today that the CEO of the hospital wants him off the schedule NOW. Hubby won't play their little games.....won't turn on other doctors, won't play yes man, so after 22 yrs they want him gone. Fine....don't need them, he is retiring on a leg disability....he's happy and that's all that counts. The company that employs him told him earlier they will pay him through Feb.....nice paycheck for sitting on his behind. 90 days before disability takes effect.....it's all good. Bath time for col.....she has been argumentative and noncompliant. Finally had to break down last night and tell her that her doggie might have cancer on his butt and that's why she can't feed him people food. Told her earlier she needed to clean him and she said she did with water and scissors.....omg I thought this won't be good....he is bleeding in the same place as before. So after col bath, doggie gets bath. Sucks to be me today.........love ya all....stay warm and dry and drink something with lots of alcohol...:)
I watched USA weather on the news tonight. It's terrible! Maybe only in Australia it is worse. (And in Egypt, for other reasons!) I am worried for you all. I hope it's going to finish soon (the bad weather)
True: does that usually happen? Snow in Mississippi? wow. Rosella, yes, the world is in upheaval. We are helpless, but to love and stay with our families. Jam, so glad your husband is healing. Big Hugs:) Sweet boys to help you. The winds are up here in So CA. Making all those scary sounds. Earth is acting up...
Good Afternoon Caregivers! Working on the boat and watching you courageous women handle your business. My respect. love you guys a lot. Jam! hey. is there any way (after you can drive again between storms) to drop the dog off at the vet to get his oil changed and give all of you a break? including the poor dog... Too much. too stressful. and mom will adjust. that's important to know. Mom or Dad will adjust if you make a change in their lifestyle that makes it easier on the whole household. they'll gripe and have a panic attack and and and, but they will come around with patience on your part. The disease gets everybody, not just them. Everybody gets the fallout and you've adjusted, so why not mom? or dad? Poor dog, he'll lay around at the vet and get better and then she'll have another shot at killing him when he gets back. Poor Jam and poor husband's skull. Snow. Wow.
Miz! where are ya? She's doing her thing like Linda says.
SSk, wassuo and true, you are amazing with what you're doing about getting some justice! Selfish Sib! isn't it time to hand out the Valentine's Boils? Christina! thank you again for the chocs. you are a sweetheart. and way to handle the shoutouts!
GP, c'mon, check in and you know we're all thinking about Rip and Jen and Flex, and always Pirate and I'm so glad that Maxine (Austin) is here and and and.
Ted!?! where are ya, son?
Headbanger! What you are experiencing is normal for the stress you are under. If he understands that it's a stress reaction he may be cool. We are not necessarily wired to do this kind of work. If we were, more of us would be in the health care field and look at Jam, a stone cold pro and it's hard for her! This is tough! That's why it's good to gripe, vent, blow off steam...have a hizzy fit, throw a wheel, run it in the ditch, hit the dock. If provoked you might even shave your head, get something pierced and get a tattoo. I did buzz my hair. Not a good look for me. Not much is a good look for me.
Angie and Jam and Miz and those who's moms or dads have gone on only recently. And me, it happened to me too.
Kuli thanks for your posts, love them! and where are you ddotal? Where's ol Pat the Hat? He wrote so well about his mom and their adventures.
I want to hang around some more but I have to get another coat of varnish on the bench out there before it gets too dark.
you guys are amazing. Thanks so much for us all helping make this a family. which brings me to CUZ! Where are ya? how is yor mom and j's mom? and our uncle? Are you overwhelmed with anything? or jus busy. holler at a cuz! AnyHoo, miss ya and so does everybody else!
Thanks for the encouraging words bobbie.....told col last night that if she doesn't start taking better care of doggie, then we will just have to take him and care for him......I was having my own senior moment....she is not capable of taking care of herself, I don't know why I keep thinking she can care for him. Now with hubby home he assures me that I will not have to handle everything myself anymore. We'll see......I've already warned him he will not spend his days sleeping around the clock.....there are a lot of things he can do around the house that he has put off on my son since his work schedule was so crazy......his idea has always been just to pay someone else to do it....well not anymore bubba!!!!!! col was eating earlier, so now is definitely bath time..........wish me luck!
we have gotten snow here ever year we have lived here and not just one time and not just floating in the air all the way til easter if you look on the map at the weather channel you can see where i am look at louisiana then where it touches mississippi got it ok then look at the sm body of water in the toe of the boot of louisiana i liv 60 miles north of the little body of water that is lake pontatrain not the gulf the lake the only further south you can get is in florida all of that area is my home stomping grounds as for snow aside from driving cross country this is the most i have seen in my life in this area on a regular basis it ahs been every year lik i said sinse katrina 2005
rip!! You made my day just seeing you on here. :))
I haven't posted today cause I am so tired and hubby was doing stuff on the computer. He got our taxes done...God love him. Then I went to work. The paper never closes. Hardly any customers. I helped a lady with a Happy Birthday with photo in the classifieds and she was so nice and appreciative. Made me feel so good.
I've been working on getting packed and deciding what not to take. The house is a filthy mess but I'm not gonna worry about it til we get back from vacation. I am so grateful the weather is supposed to be good Saturday and hope everything goes smoothly. I know I'll be exhausted when we get to the boat but that is okay. We got time to sleep. :))
We're gonna have Mom and Dad's burial on May 14th. Man oh man, I thought it was a good idea to wait but now I don't know. I'm afraid it will bring it all back. For those who don't know, they were cremated and we saved Dad's ashes until Mom passed. They will be buried in a cemetery in a town southeast of here...about an 1 hour and a half away where my dad is from. The headstone has been up for a long time. They took care of that. We we will have a small burial ceremony. I might wear Mom's wedding dress. It's not your typical wedding dress. It's a shortish dress with flowers. I wore it in a high school play. Don't know if it will fit me now. She was pretty thin then.
K, I'm gonna go get me something to drink and put my jammies on. I'll be back later. Love yous!!
IRISH TRADITION Paddy, had long heard the stories of an amazing family tradition. It seems that his father, grandfather and great-grandfather had all been able to walk on water on their 18th birthday. On that special day, they'd each walked across the lake to the pub on the far side for their first legal drink. So when Paddy's, 18th birthday came 'round, he and his pal Mick, took a boat out to the middle of the lake, Paddy, stepped out of the boat ...and nearly drowned! Mick just barely managed to pull him to safety. Furious and confused, Paddy, went to see his grandmother. 'Grandma,' he asked, "It's my 18th birthday, so why can't I walk 'cross the lake like my father, his father, and his father before him?" Granny looked deeply into Paddy's, troubled brown eyes and said, "Because your father, your grandfather and your great grandfather were all born in December, when the lake is frozen, and you were born in August, ya dip shit!
Jam I thought it was only in this part of the country that Hospital CEO's were cluless we had lost some great docs because the way they were treated our hosp. was never doc friendly so the little bitty medical group across the street now has 20 buildings in 3 counties and make it easy for pt.s to schedual tests the group even have same day surgery and urgent care-your hubby should sue them-I know that is a new York thing but he should-wait until they are short of ER docts and call him in -hope he tells them BITE ME

Usually I can't wait for him to get home at night, I'm just puzzled by how I feel about him being home during my turn at grandma watch.
LOL that is too funny about making him go to work...if there isn't any work tomorrow he needs to find somewhere else to go during the day *snickers*
Have a good one!
Bobbie busy on BOAT, yes. Miz ironing, packing, getting tan enough--haha--in prep for REAL tan, Peachie getting her ducks in a row--doncha think? Pedicures, and all that jazz.

love you guys a lot.
Jam! hey. is there any way (after you can drive again between storms) to drop the dog off at the vet to get his oil changed and give all of you a break? including the poor dog...
Too much. too stressful. and mom will adjust.
that's important to know.

Love yous!!

Paddy, had long heard the stories of an amazing family tradition.
It seems that his father, grandfather and great-grandfather had all
been able to walk on water on their 18th birthday. On that special
day, they'd each walked across the lake to the pub on the far side
for their first legal drink.
So when Paddy's, 18th birthday came 'round, he and his pal Mick,
took a boat out to the middle of the lake, Paddy, stepped out of the
boat ...and nearly drowned! Mick just barely managed to pull him to
safety.
Furious and confused, Paddy, went to see his grandmother.
'Grandma,' he asked, "It's my 18th birthday, so why can't I walk
'cross the lake like my father, his father, and his father before
him?"
Granny looked deeply into Paddy's, troubled brown eyes and said,
"Because your father, your grandfather and your great grandfather
were all born in December, when the lake is frozen, and you were born
in August, ya dip shit!
