What would you do if every time you wanted someone they would never be there?

What would you do if for every moment you were truly happy there would be 10 moments of sadness?

What would you do if your best friend died tomorrow and you never got to tell them how you felt?

So, I just wanted to say, even if I never talk to you again in my life, you are special to me and you have made a difference i n my life.

I look up to you, respect you, and truly cherish you.

Send this to all your friends, no matter how often you talk, or how close you are, and send it to the person who sent it to you.

Let old friends know you haven't forgotten them, and tell new friends you never will.

Remember, everyone needs a friend, someday you might feel like you have NO FRIENDS at all, just remember this e-mail and take comfort in knowing somebody out there cares about you and always will.

I'll Always Be There

In times of trouble,

In times of need,

If you are feeling SAD,

You can count on me.

I will give you a wink,

Until you smile,

give you a hug,

And stand by your side.

I'll be there for you till the end,

I'll always and forever, be your friend!

Angel Pennies

I found a penny today
Just laying on the ground,
But it's not just a penny
This little coin I've found.
Angels put them there
That's what my Grandpa told me,
He said Angels toss them down
Oh, how I loved that story.
He said when an Angel misses you

They toss a penny down,
Sometimes just to cheer you up
To make a smile out of your frown

So don't pass by that penny
When you're feeling blue,
It may be a penny from heaven
That an Angel's tossed to you.

The Pianist
Thought you might enjoy this..........
The minister was preoccupied with thoughts of how he was going to, after the
worship service, ask the congregation to come up with more money than they
were expecting for repairs to the church building. Therefore, he was annoyed
to find that the regular organist was sick and a substitute had been brought
in at the last minute.
The substitute wanted to know what to play. "Here's a copy of the service,"
he said impatiently. "But you'll have to think of something to play after I
make the announcement about the finances." During the service, the minister
paused and said, "Brothers and Sisters, we are in great difficulty; the roof
repairs cost twice as much as we expected, and we need $4,000 more. Any
of you who can pledge $100 or more, please stand up." At that moment, the
substitute organist played "The Star-spangled Banner."
And that is how the substitute became the regular organist!

Pills, Pills, Pills

A row of bottles upon my shelf
Has caused me to analyze myself.
One yellow pill I hope to pop
Goes to my heart so it won't stop.
A little white one that I take
Goes to my hands so they won't shake.
The blue ones that I use a lot,
Tell me I'm happy when I'm not.
The purple one goes to my brain
And tells me that I have no pain.
The capsules tell me not to sneeze
Or cough, or choke or even wheeze
The red ones, smallest of them all
Goes to my blood so I won't fall.
The orange ones, so big and bright,
Stop my leg cramps in the night.
Such an array of brilliant pills,
Helping to cure all kinds of ills.
But what I'd REALLY like to know------
IS WHAT TELLS EACH ONE WHERE TO GO?????????

Poor People

One day a father of a very wealthy family took his
son on a trip to the
country with the firm purpose of showing his son how
poor people live.
They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm
of what would be
considered a very poor family. On their return from
their trip, the
father asked his son, "How was the trip?"
" It was great, Dad."
"Did you see how poor people live?" the father
asked.
"Oh yeah," said the son.
"So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?"
asked the father.
The son answered: "I saw that we have one dog and
they had four. We
have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden
and they have a
creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns
in our garden and they
have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the
front yard and they
have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of
land to live on and
they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have
servants who serve
us, but they serve others. We buy our food, but
they grow theirs. We
have walls around our property to protect us, they
have friends to
protect them."
The boy's father was speechless.
Then his son added, "Thanks, Dad, for showing me how
poor we are."
Isn't perspective a wonderful thing? Makes you
wonder what would happen
if we all gave thanks for everything we have,
instead of worrying about
what we don't have. Appreciate every single thing
you have, especially
your friends! Please pass this page on to friends
and acquaintances to
help them refresh their perspective and
appreciation.

Special people in my life

THINK ABOUT THIS!!
READ THIS VERY SLOWLY...... IT'S PRETTY PROFOUND.
Too many people put off something that brings them joy just because they haven't thought about it, don't have it on their schedule, didn't know it was coming or are too rigid to depart from their routine.
I cannot count the times I called my sister and said, "How about going to lunch in a half hour? " She would gasp and stammer, "I can't. I have
clothes on the line. My hair is dirty. I wish I had known yesterday. I had a late breakfast. It looks like rain." And my personal favorite: "It's Monday."
She died a few years ago. We never did have lunch together.
Because Americans cram so much into their lives, we tend to schedule our headaches. We live on a sparse diet of promises we make to ourselves when all the conditions are perfect!
We'll go back and visit! the grandparents when we get Stevie toilet-trained.
We'll entertain when we replace the living-room carpet. We'll go on a
second honeymoon when we get two more kids out of college.
Life has a way of accelerating as we get older. The days get shorter, and the list of promises to ourselves gets longer.
One morning, we awaken, and all we have to show for our lives is a litany of "I'm going to", "I plan on" , and "Someday, when things are settled down a bit."
When anyone calls my 'seize the moment' friend, she is open to adventure and available for trips. She keeps an open mind on new ideas. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious.
You talk with her for five minutes, and you're ready to trade your bad feet for a pair of Roller blades and skip an elevator for a bungee cord.
My lips have not touched ice cream in 10 years. I love ice cream. It's
just that I ! might as well apply it directly to my stomach with a spatula
and eliminate the digestive process.
The other day, I stopped the car and bought a triple-decker. If my car had hit an iceberg on the way home, I would have died happy.
Now...go on and have a nice day. Do something you WANT to......not something on your SHOULD DO list.
If you were going to die soon and had only one phone call you could make, who would you call and what would you say? And why are you waiting?
Make sure you read this to the end; you will understand why I sent this to you.
Have you ever watched kids playing on a merry go round or listened to the rain lapping on the ground? Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
Do you run through each day on the fly? When you ask "How are you?" Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done, do you lie in your bed with the next hundred chores running through yo! ur head?
Ever told your child, "We'll do it tomorrow." And in your haste, not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch? Let a good friendship die? Just call to say "Hi"?
When you worry and hurry through your day, It is like an unopened gift....Thrown away...
Life is not a race. Take it slower.
Hear the music before the song is over.
It's National Friendship Week. Show your friends how much you care. Send
this to everyone you consider a FRIEND.
If it comes back to you, then you'll know you have a circle of friends.

Thanks for being my friend.

Would you have done the same

Every now and then you receive a message that stops you in your tracks.

Please read and enjoy this one as I did.

Don't look for a punch line. There isn't one. Read it anyway.

My question to all of you is: Would you have made the same choice?

At a fundraising dinner for a school that serves learning disabled
children, the father of one of the students delivered a speech that
would never be forgotten by all who attended.

After extolling the school and its dedicated staff, he offered a
question.

"When not interfered with by outside influences, everything nature does
is done with perfection. Yet my son, Shay cannot learn things as other
children do. He cannot understand things as other children do.

Where is the natural order of things in my son?"

The audience was stilled by the query. The father continued. "I believe,
that when a child like Shay comes into the world, an opportunity to
realize true human nature presents itself, and it comes, in the way
other people treat that child." Then he told the following story:

Shay and his father had walked past a park where some boys Shay knew
were playing baseball. Shay asked, "Do you think they'll let me play?"

Shay's father knew that most of the boys would not want someone like
Shay on their team, but the father also understood that if his son were
allowed to play, it would give him a much-needed sense of belonging.

Shay's father approached one of the boys on the field and asked if Shay
could play.

The boy looked around for guidance and, getting none, he took matters
into his own hands and said, "We're losing by six runs and the game is
in the eighth inning. I guess he can be on our team and we'll
try to put him in to bat in the ninth inning."

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Shay's team scored a few runs but
was still behind by three. In the top of the ninth inning, Shay put on a
glove and played in the outfield. Even though no hits came his way, he
was obviously ecstatic just to be in the game and on the field, grinning
from ear to ear as his father waved to him from the stands.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, Shay's team scored again. Now, with
two outs and the bases loaded, the potential winning run was on base and
Shay was scheduled to be next at bat. At this juncture, let Shay bat and
give away their chance to win the game? Surprisingly, Shay was given the
bat. Everyone knew that a hit was all but impossible cause Shay didn't
even know how to hold the bat properly, much less connect with the ball.
However, as Shay stepped up to the plate, the pitcher moved in a few
steps to lob the ball in softly so Shay could at least be able to make
contact. The first pitch came and Shay swung clumsily and missed. The
pitcher again took a few steps forward to toss the ball softly towards
Shay. As the pitch came in, Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow ground
ball right back to the pitcher.
The pitcher picked up the soft grounder and could have easily thrown the
ball to the first baseman. Shay would have been out and that would have
been the end of the game. Instead, the pitcher took
the ball and turned and threw the ball on a high arc to right field, far
beyond the reach of the first baseman.

Everyone started yelling, "Shay, run to first! Run to first!"

Never in his life had Shay ever made it to first base. He scampered down
the baseline, wide-eyed and startled; everyone yelled, "Run to second,
run to second!"

By the time Shay rounded first base, the right fielder had the ball.

He could have thrown the ball to the second baseman for the tag, but he
understood the pitcher's intentions and intentionally threw the ball
high and far over the third baseman's head. Shay ran toward second base
as the runners ahead of him deliriously circled the bases toward home.

Shay reached second base, the opposing shortstop ran to him, turned him
in the direction of third base, and shouted, "Run to third!" As Shay
rounded third, the boys from both teams were screaming, "Shay, run
home!"

Shay ran to home, stepped on to the plate, and was cheered as the hero
who hit the "grand slam" and won the game for his team. "That day," said
the father softly with tears now rolling down his face,"the boys from
both teams helped bring a piece of true love and humanity into this
world."

AND, NOW A LITTLE FOOTNOTE TO THIS STORY:
We all send thousands of jokes through the e-mail without a second
thought, but when it comes to sending messages about life choices,
people think twice about sharing. The crude, vulgar, and often obscene
pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion about decency is
too often suppressed in our schools and workplaces.
If you're thinking about forwarding this message, chances are that
you're probably sorting out the people on your address list that aren't
the "appropriate" ones to receive this type of message.

Well, the person who sent you this believes that we all can make a
difference. We all have thousands of opportunities every single day to
help realise the "natural order of things."
So many seemingly trivial interactions between two people present us
with a choice:

Do we pass along a little spark of love and humanity or do we pass up
that opportunity, and leave the world a little bit colder in the
process?

You now have two choices:
1. Delete this.
2. Forward it to the people you care
about.

NEVER HAVE REGRETS!!!!
Think about this. You may not realize it, but it's 100% true.
1.There are at least two people in this world that you would die for.
2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.
3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to
be just like you.
4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't
like you.
5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.
6. You mean the world to someone.
7. You are special and unique.
8. Someone that you don't even know exists, loves you.
9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from
it.
10. When you think the world has turned its back on you, take a look
11.Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the
rude
remarks.
So...If you are a loving friend, send this to everyone, including the
one
that sent it to you. If you get it back, then they really do love you.
NEVER HAVE REGRETS!!!!

Hey Everyone!! Hubby and I left Bobbie's a little while ago. Hubby has wanted to go to Disney World for a very long time and now that they have the Harry Potter thing it is just a must for him. We had a wonderful time with Bobbie. She is such a good soul, makes such good sense, is the hostess with the mostest and we love each other very much. She's the kind of person you can totally be yourself with and that means so much. I just wish I felt better. It sure put a damper on things. I guess I got sick when I could get sick. Didn't have to be healthy for Mom or work so... Like Bobbie says, it is what it is. I know it didn't help matters running through the snow trying to catch that damn plane in Indy. What a debacle. He umm I mean we learned our lesson. ;) So, as Bobbie told me, we will be going back to see her sometime so it's not a one and done thing. Hugs to all of you. Don't catch my bug. Keep skipping that rope or whatever it is that keeps you sane. Jen, you are such a treasure.

Hi Jen, I worked for a temp agency once. They placed me in the office of the visiting nurses association filing and copying. It was kinda fun, doing the menial work and talking to the co workers. Actually, filing is hard work, my arms and shoulders were sore at the end of the day! But it was a good experience. No matter what the job, I always ended up making a new friend and moving on to something better.
I understand that you are terrified. Actually, I have adapted to this caregiver thing, it's just mom and me here, and when people ask, "why don't you go out somewhere? I guess that I am thinking, "where?" to a bar and get drunk? I think I have to wait till this "episode " of life is finished and then move on to the next thing. I'm just crazy, I guess.

speaking of being terrified, I went back to school at age 42 and had to give a speach, speech, in order to graduate. Community college. I have a public speaking phobia. I got up to give my speech and was overcome by anxiety, I bolted out of the classroom, and got in my car and drove home. The rest of the classmates were looking for me around the campus. That night, the dean of the college called me up and tried to console me and I ended up comeing back to school in the face of all the embarasment. I ended up taking the dreaded "oral communications" class during the summer and got my degree . An associates of science degree of Physical therapist assistant at age 42. The fear of public speaking really stunted my growth as a human being. In high school I was an A student, but being a :"shy" type of person , I ended up dropping out of college at age 18 and roaming around kinda lost. It was the late 60's early 70's.. I hitch hiked my way to California from Massachusetts. Then, had to call my Dad and ask for money for a plane ticket home. My Dad was not a "happy camper".

Miz, enjoy Disney World! Been there 5 times, but have not been back in over 15 years. Would love to see all the changes.
Bobbie, So happy you have such wonderful company! Boat back in the water soon, yay!!!
Maxine, How's the snow and ice up your way?
Headbanger, No sleep! Know how you feel. Besides Mom, I have restless leg syndrome.
Peach, Hope you are on the mend. Pirate, Caregivers, what can I say? I got lucky with Merry! Wish I could share her with everyone.
Chillout, Good to hear from you!
Rip, How's them walking trails?
Sskape and Linda. Mom leans back all the time! Can't let go of her or she falls backwards. Her feet are always too far in front of her. It takes mountains of strength to move her from place to place! Both of you should get new hairdo's! It will give you a lift for sure!!!
Jen, The last job I had lasted 10 years until I had to quit to care for Mom. I had stayed at home to raise my daughter for 18 years and when it came time to go for a job interview, I was terrified!!! It's definitely a scary thing for most people and not an easy thing to get through. But once you have the job, it gets a lot easier as you go along.
Got to get Mom to bed. I'll try to be here more often, but with all the snow and ice , Mom, and getting the empty apartment ready for tenants, I'm pretty busy! Hope you are all well and if I missed anyone, I apologize!
Oops! Christina! Knew I forgot someone! Hope you are loving that warm sunshine, but you are missing the pretty spectacular winter scenes that we are having here in New England!
