Sis left a little while ago. I made her get mom ready for bed - out of the bathroom, PJ's, teeth, etc.
When we were getting mom in the car to go to hairdresser, the damn trunk lid fell on my head first, I punched it up and it got me between the shoulder blades. OOWWWW Brought tears to my eyes and gave me an instant headache. After we got home I took a two hour nap - and damn if sis didn't go shopping and leave mom with hubby. Then she hugs me good-bye and says what a good job I'm doing. Guess she's glad that duty is over now. At least she gave mom a mani and pedicure. Helper comes tonight and she will get to sleep cause mom was up most of the day. One bro didn't bother to call. The other bro called but he got lucky cause he wasn't SURE what day it was!! (They are ident twins, too) Gotta go, help comes in 10 min. Hand in there my Angels. No Ted today??
ouch at seemeride , hope u re ok , ouch man i sure can relate the pain , ive done it myself too , headache is bad enuff , wheres everybody ? gone to bed i bet . goodnight you all xoxo
MY PRIVATE PART DIED An old man, Mr. Wallace, was living in a nursing home. One day he appeared to be very sad and depressed. Nurse Tracy asked him if there was anything wrong.
'Yes, Nurse Tracy ,' said Mr. Wallace. 'My Private Part died today, and I am very sad.' Knowing her patients were a little forgetful and sometimes a little crazy, she replied, 'Oh, I'm so sorry, Mr. Wallace. Please accept my condolences.' The following day, Mr. Wallace was walking down the hall with his Private Part hanging out of his pajamas. He met Nurse Tracy. 'Mr. Wallace,' she said, 'You shouldn't be walking down the hall like that. Please put your Private Part back inside your pajamas.' 'But, Nurse Tracy I can't,' replied Mr. Wallace. 'I told you yesterday that my Private Part died.' 'Yes,' said Nurse Tracy , 'you did tell me that, but why is it hanging out of your pajamas?'
Cuz, you're the greatest most faithful joke provider. I really, really really am going to bed now. Just had to say: SEEME, I think there's going to be a special place for us, and our sibs. It's a big motel (moted--that's the motel run by our King) and we get the penthouse, and they get to clean up after us for eternity. sigh... ASG( allshesgot, if some weren't sure, duh) Please change toothbrushes every 3 months. Ladeeda--where are you today? Hope your leg is resting up and swelling going down. Take it easy. Love you. Thanks for your love and care:) MIZ and Hubby: Peace, Love, Big Hugs. Night, All. ZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZchristina
I am here Linda but I'm fixin' to go to bed. Hubby spent all day getting ready to maybe buy a house. Drove to his hometown two hours there and two hours back and then we went to look at the house (80 miles away from here) and it was not worth it. Then we went to the mall to look for clothes to wearing to the wake and funeral and both came up empty. We're both tired. I have an appt. at 8:15 tomorrow morning and then we gotta leave here no later than 1:00 pm to get to the wake which starts at 4:00 pm but family has to be there by 3:30. Gotta pack tomorrow morning and all that. He will probably end up going back to the mall to get a suit he found. I been doing laundry. Gonna work all day Friday after we get back to town on Thursday. I haven't drank since 1986. If I can make it through all the shit we are going through I will be proud of myself. No worries. I would feel guilty if I did. Anyways... that's the scoop for now. Thanks for being here and thanks for listening.
Working in the mental health field for several years, and seeing many different situations and conditions...., and as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse I would strongly recommend that your family member be assessed by a Psychiatrist. If she needs further assessment and observation the Doctor will refer her to a specialist. There is no such thing as being too caring or concerned in any situation that is odd to you or someone else. It is better to be safe than sorry later. Normally, the earlier the intervention the better the outcome or prognosis for the future. Hopefully this helps you and others. Sincerely, sky...
christina, I agree with you about cuz, I love reading the jokes she post, i'm gonna try to post some back to her if I hear a good one. Although hers are hard to beat. Ladeeda posted one on my wall and i'm still laughing about that one. lol about the tooth brush, around here with 5 kids and 2 dogs ours wind up getting replaced about every other week or so LOL, I'm always finding them laying on the floor and of coarse they are always as close to the toilet as they can get, found a few of them IN the toilet:)
Allshesgot and Miz, what beautiful stories "from the afterlife!" I believe it so much. I think I already told many times that I continue to talk to my father who died 16 years ago. Well, two months ago I had really very very very very big financial problems and I didn't know how to get out of the mess. I told him (father) "Do something, please!" And I was flooded by work! I have worked during the last 6 weeks as I have never done before. And I could pay bills, old taxes, some debts. So I asked my father: "Please go on like this until we have paid all the debts!!!!" I think the message my father wanted to send me was "I will lend you a hand, but money won't fall from the sky, You'll have to work your butt off!" Love my father. Always teaching, even from Upthere!!! Dj, I think it's time you use diapers for your mother, She will take them away during the night and make a lot of mess now and then, and these poop-events will happen now and then, but 90% of the times, you'll save your life. My mother does not want to wear diapers, so I buy the ones which look like panties and I tell her "Let's put on the panties", never "the diapers". This way, she accepts to put them on. Christina, there are days which are very very bad... But as Jsome said, "this is not Lybia"... Let's resist! Bobbie, I liked very much the idea of smashing Ruth's daughter knee with a baseball bat or a golf club or whatever it was. So, she will know what it is about... For all the people who are neglected by their siblings: When the siblings come, they don't come to help us. They come "visit". So, they go to the restaurant, they want to find their mother/father ready and clean and dressed... And after lunch, they want to go home, to the beach... They don't come to help us. That's an illusion! Kisses to LindaHarde... And to all of ya! Rip I liked the one of the restaurant.
ok here goes my vent for the night, except it's not about my elderly it's about my kids. Hope you don't mind....my kids(sons, 10,6,4 and daughter 5) went with grandpa to my brothers house for the eve to play, as I was putting my aunt to bed @ 9:30 I thought how odd that they were not back yet,get a call from my sister in law" Tina, don't get upset, he's ok" panic sets in. there has been an incedent down here with the neighbor kid he had hit her son 9 and my son 10 with a glass bottle! "The cops are here" the cops? "yes the kid is 17" 17!!!! thats not a kid hen it comes to hitting a 9 and 10 year old in the head with a glass bottle!!! Anyways I get down there and nephew has a BIG egg Knot on the back of his head and in the dark it dosn't APPEAR my son has any marks. The sarcastic cop who says he is new, takes a picture outside in the dark mind you, takes my info and says ok we will file a report!! File a report arnt you going to take the 17 year old to jail for hitting children in the head with a glass bottle? I would go to jail if I did that to him! well you need to talk to the other officer i'm new here. We don't have evidence!! What do you mean you don't have evidence did you see the knot on my nephews head, all three of them are saying he hit them (oh yeah my 5 year old was to little to question I guess) well you need to talk to the other officer. ok i'm pissed these kids got hit by a glass bottle by an 17 yr. old why is he not in teouble and why don't you have evidence. well 1 the guy said he didnt do it 2) he would expect if he got hit my a glass bottle it would have cut him open 3) the boys didnt run strait in and tell there mom. so the inegrity is a factor here. a 17 year old being charge with that is a felony and they have to hav eproof and they just don't have that!!!!! They found the glass bottle laying in the guys yard right where the boys said he threw it after he hit them with it. Anyways i'm so mad. The biggest thing was why didnt they go right in and tell their mom. they were hiding behind the shed when my sis in law came out the door. he was outside and she asked what was going on and he said they were in my yard on my trailer and I told them to get off and they said make me. So thats when she made them go inside to get onto them for being in neighbors yard and on trailer and for being rude to the neighbor, when she took them inside her son started crying and showed her his head and told what happened. I also found out that after he hit them, they went into his yard and jumped on his trailer then he was after them again, thank god my sil went outsid eto check on them. So out of what they said, including my 5 year old, was 1 they were outside playing 2 he had been playing with them and got a phone call so was on his cell phone 3 my nephew threw the ball at him and it hit him in the stomach cause he had gotten a phone call on his cell, they thought they were playing with him still 4 the guy get pissed off has the bottle in his hand starts cussing them and chasing them grabs ny nephew hits him in the head with bottle, then throws it at my son who was saying don't hit me please and turns to run from him, they go hide under my sil house and behind the shed, He leaves they come out and like all brave boys do who are mad they b(stupidly) runs next door and gets on the trailer(I know little boys they were trying to seek revenge at this time i'm sure) Then he tells my 5 year old he is going to cut his head off, they run and hide again and thats when my sil comes out. WHEW. I'm just so furious right now, no they were not seriously injured,(injured enough) thank god! but the cop says, well neighbor hood kids get together and play and sometimes get hurt. Its like vehicular accidents, they are called accidents cause it wasnt on purpose! What????? That makes no sene you are talking about a kid who has already graduated high school(or dropped out?) and children. The guy told them didnt hit them with a bottle they were lying cause he was telling the mom for them being on the trailer. he said had been throwing rocks earlier, look at all the rocks in the street, of coarse there are lots of rocks in the road, my brother owns a dump truck, it's always like that. now i'm not saying my kids are angels, there was way to many details, and injury, and the 5 year old is a terrible lyer. And that is just not like them. My nephews listen to dad but are not so afraid of mom that they would come up with such a big lie to avoid getting in trouble for being in the neighbors yard. AND FOR ALL WHO JUST READ THROUGH THAT BLESS YOU. i'm very upset that he is gonna get away with it. and after I got him home in the light he does have a bruise coming up on his back. And not consistant with rocks!! more consitant with a bottle. I hate living in such a political town.
Allshesgot, I only hope the 17 years old boy was afraid to see the police and he will think twice next time before using bottles as weapons. If I were you, I would go to see him and tell him: "Next time probably you will not be so lucky, and prison is a very bad place for young and good looking boys" It will give him something to think about. I hope your kids are not too scared and they will probably need some time to digest what happened...
Hey 'skydiver'! "Working in the mental health field for several years, and seeing many different situations and conditions...., and as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse I would strongly recommend that your family member be assessed by a Psychiatrist."
Seriously? You reinforce the point that I have made over the course of my real experience of being a caregiver and the real experience of the caregivers here. So called 'professionals' are clueless. Ever heard of Dementia? I guess you missed that one while you were seeing many different situations and conditions. OBMAJ.
bobbie, now that you have mastered docking the boat, how about getting a helicopter, so you can visit all of us, and land it on our lawns. The OBMAJ Copter.
allshegot, OMG I would be so mad just like you are. That 17 year old needs to be taught a lesson. And what does all this teach young children. That 17 year olds can terrorize them and hurt them and they won't get in trouble for it?? That's despicable!!
skydiver- i dont know what youre talkin about , OBMAJ .. ssk- yes i agree with you ! bobbie plz learn how to fly a copter . :-) i have plenty room in my back yard for u to park woo hoo . allshesgot- here indiana , it is agaisnt the law to be a bully ! they can go to jail for that , lit kids or big kids . be a bullie in school ure OUT !! hope it doesnt happen again if it does i be barking real loud . id say SHAME ON YOU SHAME ON YOU to the stupidity 17 yrs old , chase him with a paddle .
woke up early pa s a screamin , has to go pee realy realy bad , ok dad im a comin . took him to bathroom heck he s already wet . dried him up and put him back in bed , went ahead made b fast and served him in bed , he siting up like a very happy boy . oh yum yum yum . all this started 4 am , now im draggin tired , body is just a achin , bought some advil for sinus and colds , it perked me up yesterday and may just take another one today . but i think i need to go back to bed first , 2 hrs sleep is all i got . SKYDIVER - you telin us we need to go see a psychiatrist . phhhhttttt ... i have alot of angels here theyre my lifesavers , i dont need a college professional t o sit there and listen me rant and vent and cry when u dont have any clue what we all go thru . miz- i know today is a busy day for you . and be thinking about ya , bless ur heart xoxoxox going to bed . be back later .
Hey Allshesgot, I'm thinking that Rossella has a point with a covert visit. The police are obviously not a solution and more of a problem, this 17 year old may be developmentally challenged and sees a 9 year old and a 10 year old as peers and his behavior, in his eyes is justified. Or he's just a mean spirited A hole who has battered children..... SO, Get the bottle, photograph the bruise because today it will be livid, hold the bottle in the photograph next to the bruise and then go visit the cop shop in town with the pictures and bottle and ask why is nothing being done and you want to file an assult charge. whatever they say, you want to file an assult charge. Is it by chance a beer bottle? 17? Oh, and a bottle won't necessarily cut you open. Is the cop a doctor as well? Expert on blunt trauma? If no satisfaction, call the local tv affiliate that has the 'fix-it' guy feature... most areas have the guy you complain to and he gets your $ back, etc, you know what I mean. He can forward the story to the right place. Not allowing a mother to file an assult charge when her little son has been attacked by an adult is a nice little news story, IF it is a slow local news day. Believe me, I get the whole political deal with cops and a small town. How tiresome and demeaning when there is no justice. Been there and am still dealing with some of that. sux. good luck. I know you don't need this right now in light of everything else you're doing, but wow, what an opportunity to burn off some angst while doing the community a favor. Cops that don't do the right thing are not good for much.
Oh, and Cuz is my cousin and is a big DUDE!! As in tall, healthy nice looking MAN. I know he's going to crack up when he sees all of this because I sure did. How would you know so don't do anything but laugh when you read this!
Rip!! that Restaurant joke was excellent!! Laugh out loud.
Jam! I would take mom out with a spotless clean bib and we would do the best we could. the last restaurant we were in was full of young people and seeing the disgust in their arrogant eyes made me not want to subject my mom to that anymore. Mom dropped a macaroni on her bib and a young man and woman sitting near us made audible ewwww noises while staring. I reached over and plucked the macaroni off of her bib and ate it. Then I gave the 2 young people a real stare down. Mom was horrified at first and then started to laugh. I continued on eating off of my plate, her plate and her bib all while giving the kids the fish eye. Want Gross? I'll show you gross......
I love the angel stories too. I have a few of my own.... some of you who have been on the thread for awhile may remember the dolphin story right after my mom died. wow.
I'm still here, just very much down in the foxhole these last few days. I seems my brain wants to go numb, so it takes all I got just to get through the daily petty crap of life.
Don't worry, there is nothing serious going on. Well, on OUR scale of what is serious anyway. Just the usual feeling trapped, watching my life tick away, watching mom's life ticking on, trying not to think about the stolen money I NEED, the things I could be doing. trying not to question why I seem to be the only person I know, (besides you guys of course) that's thinks that caring for a frail, frightened, confused old woman is a GOOD thing to do.
Drinking coffee this morning and trying to get caught up on what happened from everyone last night.....WHEW!
allshesgot......I agree with taking a picture and make sure you have the bottle. I kind of know where you are and what town(s) you are close to. Yeah, small-town politics stink, but it's worth a try....would it be City or County? I don't think I would allow the kids to get close to this "man" again....sounds like he has a very short fuse and who knows what he would or could do next time he gets mad?
rossella.....my feelings exactly on the col. Every single time hubby mentions taking her out I am really hesitant to do so....and he starts to feel guilty because she doesn't get out....then when she doesn't act like he thinks she should he gets very frustrated and I am supposed to solve the problem. He has NO PATIENCE with her at all. He is a wonderful, very talented ER PHYSICIAN.....ER being the keyword.....but he gets so frustrated with the elderly. I think it's because he can't "fix" it. I have seen him do things that make me stand there with my mouth hanging open. Over the years I have seen him fix things from hearts to resuscitation of babies......but minds are just beyond him. I'm not commenting on skydiver.....I would just end up in trouble....:)
linda.....Red Lobster was scrumptious!!!!! They brought col her coconut shrimp....and then our plates, which was the wrong order. Ordered rock lobster and crab legs, brought us lobster and skewered shrimp. Sent it back for the correct plate and you should have seen the lobster they brought on the correct order! OMG it was done to perfection......was not rubbery (overcooked) and it was HUGE and they kept apologizing all over the place.....not a problem.....what else do I have to do besides watch the col drop her food in her lap. She managed to pull her bib off real quick and when she stood up her lap was absolutely loaded with crumbs and food bits. I just stood there while hubby brushed her clean.....he is going to learn what it's like watching over her if it kills me.....he is no longer working, he can help with certain aspects of her care.
Son was cutting down limbs last night and I was helping him and trying to keep an eye on hubby and col because when I see his mouth moving and the pissy look on her face I know something is up.....well she was telling him again how she was going to start driving and I told her to go get in my car and take off....he's frustrated with her because she just continues to argue with him so I try to diffuse her and tell him to just go watch tv. But I notice this "attitude" all evening from her, then when I went down to help her into bed because she can't even pull her own pants back up and her little butt was smiling at me on camera, I can feel her just "simmering"....it's an odd feeling. Today ought to be just great. She is straddling the fence right now between still knowing things and thinking she is capable of anything and total forgetfulness.....I really wish she would hurry up and fall over to the side of complete mind gone........I could handle that so much easier. She is getting her hair cut Thursday.....oh boy is she going to hate me.....that mop on her head will be gone....she thinks she is going to get a perm only...nope, cut and perm....tired of looking at her head and thinking she looks like a feather pillow with ALL the stuffing poking out...:) And hubby has orders to make the nasty hot rollers disappear while she is gone....he'd better do it or he's in trouble!!!!! lol
linda......did you ever get your "order"? Got mine last Friday without a problem.
"What is 180 Lbs, wears Depends and is ...growing a mustache?"
Yes, and mom was soo pissed it was scary. It is his face...who cares, he washes his glasses of with spit, shits in his bed and would wear urine reek clothing if we let him.....
lily, Let me be the first to welcome you. Plan to stick around unless you don't need jokes, gross outs, compassion, good advice, hugs and kisses, and people who really understand what is going on.
Glad to hear from you Ted. Did you know you now run Mo-Ted, our motel of peace where all sibs cater to our every need. It is such a nice day today I hop you get out and enjoy it. Amazing what a little Vit D will do.
I can't decide if I should comment on skydiver or not. Do you read many comments like that? Do they ever post more than once? Since I am new st this, Can I just........ WTF do you know about it? How many people have you CARED FOR? Do you wake up 5 or more times a night? I can no longer sleep more than 3 hrs at a time.......Someone slap me
Lily..........tell me a story..........Let me hear how it really is............before I have to see a psychiatric professional.............AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

ASG( allshesgot, if some weren't sure, duh) Please change toothbrushes every 3 months.
Ladeeda--where are you today? Hope your leg is resting up and swelling going down. Take it easy. Love you. Thanks for your love and care:)

A BEAUTIFUL MESSAGE ABOUT GROWING OLDER:
Shit.....
I forgot the words.....
love,
miz
P.S. Jen, you are right on, girl.
Love ya Cuz
I believe it so much.
So I asked my father: "Please go on like this until we have paid all the debts!!!!" I think the message my father wanted to send me was "I will lend you a hand, but money won't fall from the sky, You'll have to work your butt off!"
Love my father.
Rip I liked the one of the restaurant.
asked what was going on and he said they were in my yard on my trailer and I told them to get off and they said make me.
I hope your kids are not too scared and they will probably need some time to digest what happened...
OBMAJ.
more later crew after I've had my coffee.

I'm thinking that Rossella has a point with a covert visit. The police are obviously not a solution and more of a problem, this 17 year old may be developmentally challenged and sees a 9 year old and a 10 year old as peers and his behavior, in his eyes is justified. Or he's just a mean spirited A hole who has battered children..... SO,
Get the bottle, photograph the bruise because today it will be livid, hold the bottle in the photograph next to the bruise and then go visit the cop shop in town with the pictures and bottle and ask why is nothing being done and you want to file an assult charge. whatever they say, you want to file an assult charge.
I have a few of my own.... some of you who have been on the thread for awhile may remember the dolphin story right after my mom died. wow.
ok... more later.

Blah, Blah, Blah.
Keep strong guys, Boat.
allshesgot......I agree with taking a picture and make sure you have the bottle.
Love and Hugz to all!
Jam
Yes, and mom was soo pissed it was scary. It is his face...who cares, he washes his glasses of with spit, shits in his bed and would wear urine reek clothing if we let him.....
Consider yourself slapped.
I was laughing so hard I smacked my bare knee and have the red spot to prove it.
