Two businessmen in Florida were sitting down for a break in their soon-to-be new store. As yet, the store wasn't ready, with only a few shelves set up.

One said to the other, "I bet any minute now some senior is going to walk by, put his face to the window, and ask what we're selling."

No sooner were the words out of his mouth when, sure enough, a curious senior walked to the window, had a peek, and in a soft voice asked, "What are you selling' here?"

One of the men replied sarcastically, "We're selling ass-holes."

Without skipping a beat, the old timer said, "Must be doing well...only two left."

thought everyone could use a laugh..........

Guess I will start my wonderful day now......I so enjoy cleaning dirty butts, wiping up doggie pee, cleaning others homes, fixing HOT meals and throwing them at col. I'm just venting about someone else, somewhere else here. Hugz to all of you and please don't forget to smile when your momma, daddy, gp, gm, is able to have a bowel movement.......;)

Rosella, as a matter of fact the cargiver specialist told me today that she still has another $960 towrds respite care for me until june when the new fiscal year starts and more is allotted! I'm gonna take full advantage of this and NOT let myself wear down that far again.

Sistah Peach! Maybe Hubby needs a "CNA" of his own? it might fall under respite care for YOU!

Good Morning, Crew! Gosh, you guys were busy yesterday!!!

Bobbie!!! I hope you're now in a "chicken-free" zone & feeling better!!! Congrats on getting the boat back in the water! I'm sorry that I missed you! Also sorry that you're short on minutes! Please let us know how you're doing! Miss you!

Deef, Congrats on 10,000th post! You go girl! I'm really sorry to hear about hubby's job! It really irks me when some new so-in-so comes in & disrupt what's already working just to put their mark on the situation! Just not right! I pray that he'll find an even better job than he had with the scoundrals! Keep us updated!

SSK, I'd love to hear more about your site...can you post on FB & we can "legally" share the info there?

I'm sorry that so many of you are having a difficult time with your charges, right now! Full moon! Seems like it effects everything the week of, two weeks before & a week after, too! Hope things will level out for you really soon!

RIP!!! LOVE DUSTY!!! Beautiful baby! So glad that you guys have found each other! We need photos of you & her together! How is Sir??

Christina, hope your Mom is resting now & letting you get some more sleep, too! Enjoyed chatting with you this morning!

I'm watching on tv, right now, that there's a pastor, Otis Clark, here in the US, who is 108 years old! Still in good shape & takes no medication! He's scheduled to go on a mission trip to Jamaca this year! Amazing!

Headbanger, you're so funny! We have such amazing writers on here! RIP, Jen, Christina, Linda, everybody!!!

Kuli...It was great to hear from you! Hope you're doing good!

Linda, SO glad that Pa is feeling better! Please post a photo of your new do when you can. You too, JAM!

Miz, Are you feeling better? Sure hope so! Are the antibiotics working yet? Don't forget to take some acedolophus (sp?) to help prevent a yeast infection. Those things are nasty! Happy belated BD to your cutie pie!

Diane, Miz, Mary & Bobbie, thank you guys SO much for caring about me & what's going on! I'm feeling some better & gaining a little strength each day! YEAH! 'Bout time! : ) Still eating lots of protein & resting as much as I can. Ice Cream seems to help A LOT!!! lol

We've had a very challenging week, as hubby had his first appointment with his new neurologist in Chattanooga, on Monday. She is the one that the neurologist at Vanderbilt recommended so he wouldn't have to travel as far. 30 minutes v/s 3-4 hours one way! To me that showed the oc at Vandy really cared about what happens with him instead of being all about the buck!

IF THIS PART OFFENDS ANYBODY, I'M REALLY SORRY, BUT IT'S A REAL PART OF THIS DISEASE & I NEED SOME INPUT FROM YOU GUYS ON WHAT TO DO!!! The new doc is keeping him on carbadopa/levadopa & has added another med, Mirapex, that he's not been on before. It has a LONG list of side effects, some being pretty bad. It's making him very sick to his stomach, & dizzy. He's staying in the bed a lot more since he's started the new med. Also, the doc said that it would make him VERY, hummmm..."loving"!!! BINGO!!! We have a winner!!! Driving me, I started to say "nuts", but decided on "bonkers" instead! lol The other med was bad at this side effect, but this new one is making the situation a lot worse!!! He's worse than a teenage boy & I can't keep up!!! Right now I don't have the energy or desire to! Suggestions??? Even if they're funny, that's ok!!! I know you guys can have all kinds of fun with this one!!! lol Again, I'm so sorry to bring up this personal of a post, but this is the "grossed out?" "need to vent" thread, right?? I know it's personal, but so is talking about poop issues & this one is very real to me & the loved one I'm caring for! Help is greatly appreciated!

OH, we did do something kinda fun Monday for Valentine's Day. We went to a wedding! Sweet, but RED NECK!!! BIG TIME!!! Second wedding for both the bride & groom. The groom had on a nice black tux, very classy...kinda cowboy looking with his hairstyle & stance! The 55ish year old bride, well...she is a little hefty & had on a strapless hot pink "prom" gown, complete with sequins & a tiara in an "up do" hairstyle! The other guys...black & white...classy! The other girls...Black & hot pink non-matching short baby-doll looking dresses...one with a leopard print across the chest. The wedding party looked like the classy cowboy, the prom queen, & the hookers! The reception...well, let's just say it was interesting!!! The couple had to be reminded that they were in a church! I heard "get a room" more than once! They got a little carried away! lol Good cake, though!!! It's all about the cake at weddings, right?? lol

I'm gonna try to post some photos of Bobbie's bear that you guys wanted & of the jacket & shirt, on FB.

Hope everybody, Rossella, True, SS, pirate, cuz, Ted, Bonnie & everybody else are having a great morning with no mishaps!

Hugs,
peach

Kuli welcome back.
Ted, I think that in three more months you could take another week of respite, and this time go for a real vacation!
More later.
Linda, I can wash your dishes if you dust my bookshelves. I love washing dishes and I hate dusting!

Good Morning! i woke up feeling good today, after a few bumps bringing mom back home it's seems the respite week has really worked! I highly recommend it. While sending a thank you email to the Caregiver Resource Specialist of the Area Agency on Aging who provided the vouchers for it, i wrote to her that I finally know now that it isn't a matter of choosing between caring for mom or caring for me, but a more holistic Whole-Household approach to wellness that I should be striving for. So, No Guilt!
I also woke up with the realization that what was really bugging me out so badly about my sister's crap was not that she was just stealing from us and verbally abusing me to cover for it, but that this is my big sister who shared a rough childhood with me, and who, before we went seperate ways, I had looked up to and depended on as a child. So i guess i was reacting more to the loss of that person than to the practical garbage.
So be it. she has moved on and of course we have all changed over the years. Now I can put it all behind me and move on myself.

Spring is definitely in the air here, I saw my first sprig of green on my tulip bulbs this morning. So hang on Miz and everyone, things are about to get warm and wonderful and healthy again. I promise.

Rip, so good to see you too!!

I felt pretty good yesterday evening and last night. Woke up this morning and different story. Throat hurts again and I'm tired and weak. I am so sick of this. Don't feel like I should call in sick again. Christina, yep it sure does hang on. Sorry I been whining about it everyone. I'm sure you're sick of me being sick too. :)

I so enjoyed reading the thread this morning. Was disappointed when I had read all the posts. Wanted to read more. You guys are so wonderful!!

Hey to all. Sorry I've been non verbal for a bit. I have been trying to keep up with the posts but just aren't in the right frame of mind to add a post or two. Been a tough few weeks as I know we all have. Black hole tries to get close and I seem to use all my energy to keep it at bay. Deef, so sad to hear about your husband. HB and SS - I don't know what happened but whatever it was, we ALL belong right here! Right here, all the time!! So please don't go away. Bobbie, hope you are feeling better. Linda, hope pa is feeling better. To all - my love, prayers and sincere hope for a better day tomorrow. Kuli

This is cougar country....it is good to be Queen of your jungle. I raise a glass to my cougar sisters.

Christina your post was hilarious. I often feel like that when I log in and swim through 18-20 posts at a time. Who is on first? No...she ran to second....Hot damn...Ted ran home.....Where is Linda...did she walk the dog without me?

I probably won't make my 90's and that is ok....I have counseled my children. When my brain consists of more dust than neurons...I want bus-therapy. I don't want God to sit around reading my resume before he decides I'm ready.

Bobbie: Don't they call a drain running through the bottom of your kitchen a bilge? Well they do on a boat.

I'm still here...I wasn't gonna leave I was just going to stalk you all.

Anxiety runs like swine flu through our family. I got a double dose of anxiety....Thats because we have 5 generations in our family. 3 are living IN THIS HOUSE...(besides making my husband a living saint)....it makes me a nervous wreck mostly. I am someones granddaughter AND someones grandmother all at the same time.

Think about this for a moment. I am in a special place in my life. I have found a place in this wonderful cosmos where shit can roll downhill....and somehow uphill AT THE SAME TIME. I am not just your average middle-child...I am a middle generation.

I can go loopidy-loo at a moments notice and trust me baby...I always think it is my fault when stuff turns sideways.

I'm happy to know the Admin gods aren't unhappy with this thread and that they won't smite me for my ramblings...I'm just a poor caregiver damnit!!! I'm an unpaid indentured servant....I only sleep if my master allows me....I NEED MY SPACE TO VENT!!!

RRRRRAAAAAWWWWWRRRRRR! Purrrrrrr!!!!

it's raining here in California, too, Rosella. Yes, if my husband is not around when I am an old lady, I will go to italy or Portugal or where the men are dark and swarthy and want to dance and eat chocolate and eat pasta and drink red wine and have sex in the afternoon, and I will die happy. I hope God will take me, and not make me live into my 90s.

Deef! the last word of your 10.000 post was "diarrhea!"!
I see there have been some more little problems, this time with the site - there is a problem every month or so, and we HAPPILY SURVIVE TO EVERYTHING!
10.000 posts are not a joke, even if they talk about diarrhea.
So please, people who think of leaving, think it over. Stay, and you'll find the way to express yourself somewhere else, too.
But this thread is too important and maybe it is the only one which is really useful for us.
Christina, if I get older I think I'll become an old flirt like your mother. It's very nice and sweet what she does. I am sorry you have to listen to her when she cries for the men that she met for 5 minutes and she lost, but it's so cute!
BTW the word for "meow" is "miao" while we don't have a word for "purrr" so we say "purrrr"
There are some cat owners who call their cat "Miao" and their dog "Bau" and I don't think the cat is glad about it. The dog doesn't care.
Did I tell you I have one of my dogs who likes to dance? When I go around the room singing she does not move, but when I sing and dance she comes to me, puts her front legs on my chest and dances with me. She dances waltz with Daniela, my helper, and disco dance with me.
I'll make a short movie sooner or later.
I am a cougar, too. My last boyfriend was 8 years younger and the problems between us were not the age difference. The problem is that he can't stay with a woman for more than 3 years and whatever is her age, he dumps her after 3 years. He did the same with the girlfriend he had after me, and she was much younger. As far as I am concerned, 3 years was a very very long time, as my previous record was 1 year. I am not good for the long runs...
I am flirting now with a boy who is more or less 30 years old and I am not ashamed of it. If I ever manage to date him (which is very difficult but let's dream) I will do whatever it needs to be done.
Bobbie if I understood well you propose to make a house with a draining ditch in the middle so you can clean it with the hose. (was it so?) This is a great idea.
Night everybody ...

omg--I'm exhausted from trying to catch up. I was out today when the Boat thread thing happened and my iphone was going ding ding ding like a pinball machine with all the fb posts. I couldn't do anything but wait. Then I got home and washed my car, talked to a couple of neighbors, and started to watch Oprah. Sat down here, and I'm thinking, "there is a party on the boat and I'm not there." Whaaaaa. Typical. Congrats Deef--you deserve it (boattime) and I hope you get something really, really good. I have an idea, but I'll need your address................
heehee
I'm glad you all got things settled. I was reading so FAST and hyperventilating, that I thought I read that Ted was wearing clear mascara; then I "rewound" and became clear that it was not someone's dogs that were sick, but giant cats, bobcats and cougars, and Deefer is going to get a job at Home Depot because she can FIX THINGS--TELL ME WHAT CAN'T SHE DO, PLEASE.
Jam is looking foxy, Maxine is a fox, a few people are feeling GUILTY, for some imagined reason. Ooh, reminds me of myself before therapy took hold, before I became responsible for Mother, when she was out in the world doing whatever the hell she wanted with whomever, and now, I've spoiled her freedom. Yes, the last guy was the physical therapist, about 35, (whoohoo), and HE used to tell HER he was her "Cute little china guy"....no no no, please. You can't flirt with her, She takes it to heart. Don't do those specific exercises with her anymore, please. I have to deal with the repercussions, the lovesick crying, "where is he, I can't remember what he was wearing, and I can't remember his name, so I've lost him forever. We were together such a long time (5 minutes at the mall).
So now, here I am, my email is open and as I write this I am getting little boxes in my lower left screen that say, "Ted has posted, Rosella, has posted, etc., and its not here. So I am alone again, on the Boat, everyone is somewhere else. when I get there, they'll be back here. It's ok. I am not taking it personally. I am just very happy you all got it straightened out, and that SSK is with us, and we might visit her.
Headbanger?

I hate to say it but last time I ate KFC I wanted to die. My stomach was so freakin bloated....but what that chicken did to grandma was CRIMINAL.

KFC are non-cooking chicken poachers. If you can call it chicken. I spent the entire day in the bathroom with grandma when I thought I'd shit myself beside her....only one throne in that tiny room and I was out ranked and out flanked.

If I have to have chicken, I'll go with Popeye's.
