Wow Bobbie it seems quite of a package! I am sorry I did not take part in it, but it seems very nice! Sure you must be very glad! I knew the bear and the chocolate and the cards would arrive, but I didn't know about the other things.
I remember that when we were kids we liked to receive a package full of many things!

You're the best, Bobbie. I remember when Peach first notified us of the plan, and I went to Hallmark to find an appropriate card. It was very soon after I found AC, but I knew so quickly what an awesome lady you are, so it was easy.
Yes, obviously See's is still around. Little Black and White stores filled with all sorts of chocolates. You let me know what your favorites are, and I'll send anytime, Bobbie.
Love Always,

I HAVE OPENED THE BOX!!!!!

OMG!!!!

YOU GUYS!!!!!!

HOW LONG HAVE YOU ALL BEEN PLANNING THIS????

OK, Here we go:

Georgia Peach was on the horn with me to walk me through it.
So much and so amazing and and and

DEEF!!!! what a beautiful scarf and ornament! It's a huge sand dollar with a lighthouse scene that Deef painted herself. It's incredible. I have it hanging over the trunk refrigerator and secure on a hook. I'll mount it in the picture frame so it won't move when the boat does.
The scarf is knitted with a varigated yarn that is all the colors of the ocean. The pattern looks like waves. Gorgeous.
Thank you so much Deef. I love it all!!
And sea shell chocolates!!

OK, Miz and Peachie got together and pulled a whammy on me. We now have embroidered sweat shirts with Barbara B and a life ring as the logo. Perfect!
There is one for me that says Captain and one for Miz that says Crew. Amazing.
listen to this: and we now have the famous OBMAJ t shirts!!
Miz, Peachie and the Crew of the Barbara B have been conspiring!!! Linda, I know you're in there and Christina (where are you?) Deef, Rip, Flex, Maxine!!, Kuli, Jam, ssk,Cuz, Angie, Ted, Jen, True, Selfish Sib, Rossella!!! Pirate!, Chillout and Headbanger, everybody and everybody. You Guys!!!
Thank you thank you!

AND there's a Sailor Bear! from the Crew!!! He is now on the bridge and I am happy that there is someone else here to drive the boat so I can go down and make a sandwich. Seriously. He can sit on the helm when the autopilot is on. Just in case the Coast Guard goes by.....

There's CAT TOYS!!! the Cat loved the toys and is still loving the box and packing peanuts! She's going to sleep like a rock.
Peach!

A beautiful journal to use as a Guest Book on the boat. I'm going to send it to Miz with the rest of her presents and she can write some and then send it back and then everyone who comes on the boat can sign in. Great Idea!!!

GIANT BOX OF SEE'S CANDY!!!!! Hey I opened it and got into it what can I say. I know that I was supposed to share it and the whole deal but Miz ain't here and she left her ice cream and I go ahold of that too.
Christina!!!! See's Candy!!! Thank you thank you! Of course i haven't seen See's for a few years!
Don'tcha love those little stores with all of the black and white?
Are they still around?

And Beautiful Cards.
A great Christmas letter from TrueColors aka Elizabeth. Thank you so much for thinking of me! Nice picture!
A lovely Christmas and birthday card from Deef!!
An incredible card from Miz with a pic of her Cat, Sandy hugging the bear we all sent her.
An hilarious thank you card from Peach honoring the Grossed Out Thread with a picture of a kitten fixin to shred a roll of TP!
Peachie has the beautiful calligraphy and the inside of the card where she wrote is so beautiful that I want to put it in the glass frame with Deef's lighthouse and Peach and husbands picture as well as Miz's Sandy and the bear!
Thank you again Peach
A Great Birthday card from Linda! Pretty handwriting too! thank you so much Linda!
The whole Crew!
I almost made it through and then I got to Christina's card. I read Miz's and then Christina's and that's when I lost it. Good thing Peach was on the phone with me.
Christina, that was a beautiful card and thank you so much for thinking of me, seriously.
Miz, wow.
All of you, thank you for taking the time out of your insane days and thinking of me. You know I have said here that I couldn't imagine anyone thinking of me if I wasn't standing in front of them. Thank you all for thinking of me and thinking nice things about me too. It makes my heart feel so good. And I needed that. We all need that.
Please tell me I didn't forget anything or anyone, but I'm sure I did. Please forgive me.

I love you guys. Thank you so much for everything.
you all are such astounding people and you all have my absolute respect.

Harde..cause usually I don't do internet on the weekends...but I may be taking my laptop to mom's so I can research Assisted Living Facilities.....close to her house. It's so friggin hard..none have websites and it's all going through these friggin agencies that contact and find them..and then I find the same ones they do...so what's the deal. Why are they not properly displayed on websites...so fn hard. I hate this crap. My mom's caregiver just called and said my mom was crying for me and starting up again. She leaves at 4:00 on fridays and I get off around 6:00 and head over there and get there between 6:30 and 7:00 depending. She put my mom on the phone and I said you have to stop this nonsense..you don't need anything you just want someone there to control...if you don't stop it youre heading to the nursing home I told her...I told her I would see her later and it kinda stopped. I hate how they want to manipulate you..I am so friggin tired of her. For 2 years it's been all about her..and she doesn't get what I have done for her, and will never get it due to decline and they don't think correctly...which has been a pain with my mom all her life cause she never thought correctly about a lot of subjects...oh I wish it was over...I know that is wrong..but I am tired of it. 12 years she has been on my back...and it's just getting more trying towards the end...oh I wish there was some magic pixie dust I can sprinkle over the whole situation...Calgon take her away........................LOL!

Wish me luck CareAngels for this weekend I feel will be very trying...and I think I will take laptop with me after all. So will be saying Happy Ani on the proper day after all.

Waving to all!

Rosella..you don;t have ricola the swiss herbal sore throat lozenge..it's a european thing..I bet you can find at the drug store there in italy. I will ask my italian b/f if he has seen it for sale in Rome. Also I just looked it up has only 1 L. It's the only thing that gets rid of my sore throats.
I could not believe that my mom managed to dial my number this morning....thought she was done dialing for sure!
(1)
Report

Pirate, "Gnomeo and Juliet" seems a hardcore movie!
We don't have ricolla here, we have ricotta. It is very good, but useless for the throat.
My mother remembers the telephone number of her sister who died 3 years ago. On the other hand, today she wanted to eat her lipstick. This was not very beautiful for me to see.
I don't find a lot of joy in my life lately. I talked with my favourite cousin whose mother has Alzheimer, too, and at the end of the telephone call we were both quite depressed.
Sure a thing like this does not pass like wind in your life. It passes like a stone which weighs on your heart.
Night nice ladies and Ted

Peach..you may have a point there about the pillow..but geesh I hope it don't take no months for it to heal..this has started her on a ranting expedtion...oye veh!

Miz - Take RICOLLA...that's the only thing that will get rid of my sore throat.

I was trying to call my mom this morning..and the phone was busy..and I thought oh gosh do I have to come over there to see what she has done to get the phone off the hook and imagining her all twisted up with covers on the floor...yeah she is capable of that stuff...well I tried several times...and then on the fourth time my phone rang..and it was her...I was surprised she was able to dial the phone still, since she can hardly see..or so she says...you can never believe what she says. OH I thought this morning I am so tired of this decling crap hell...which it was over...it really drags you down if you let it...I see how she even affects the caregiver..my mom has always been a depressing soul..really...so was my dad..reall downers...sometimes I can be that way too...but I think that is my pessimist Virgo coming out...cause I can be humourous and fun loving as well...plus love fairytale stuff still....geesh you should see all the gnomes and mushrooms and concrete animals my mom's yard has now....it's like the new movie...Gnomeo and Juliet..which opens today....wish I could go see it...looks like my yard..including my mom's old pink flamingo's which I used to hate..but adore now....used to hate gnomes...but love them to death now..must be my germanic heritage leaking out...lol....Gut Bratwurst to all!...LOL

SS, it was wonderous and wonderful and awesome. We were able to visit and get to know each other better. She's like a soul mate in a friend sort of way. Hubby has wanted to see this Harry Potter thing and so we came down here while we had the chance. We went to Universal yesterday and he's going back to the other side today without me. I could do it for one day but I gotta rest today. We gotta leave here at 3:30 am to catch the plane in Jacksonville. Ugh!! At least there won't be much traffic. Yep, vacation is a really really bad time to get sick. Sucks. Thank God for TV and puters. :) We got a great deal on this laptop and it's so great. Love and hugs to all of yous. You're in my thoughts and I know it's rough. Have as good a day as you can have and try to find time for yourselves. A wee bit even. Got a Universal Studios zip up sweatshirt and one for the friend that is taking care of the kitties. BTW, bobbie's kitty is so adorable. What a sweetheart and so dang cute. She makes her some good company.

98 and No Enemies

Let's hope this happens to all of us!

98 and no enemies - human interest story.

All golfers should live so long as to be this kind of old man!

Toward the end of the Sunday service, the Minister asked, "How many of you have forgiven your enemies?"

80% held up their hands.

The Minister then repeated his question. All responded this time, except one man, an avid golfer named Walter Barnes, who attended church only when the weather was bad.

"Mr. Barnes, it's obviously not a good morning for golf. It's good to see you here today. Are you not willing to forgive your enemies?"

"I don't have any," he replied gruffly.

"Mr. Barnes, that is very unusual. How old are you?"

"Ninety-eight," he replied. The congregation stood up and clapped their hands.

"Oh, Mr. Barnes, would you please come down in front & tell us all how a person can live ninety-eight years & not have an enemy in the world?"

The old golfer tottered down the aisle, stopped in front of the pulpit, turned around, faced the congregation, and said simply, "I outlived all the sons of bitches."

This new version of the "footprints" story really caught me off guard at the end...What a blessing.

JUST READ IT!

FOOTPRINTS...A New Version

Imagine you and the Lord Jesus are walking down the road together For much of the way, the Lord's footprints go along steadily, consistently, rarely varying the pace.

But your footprints are a disorganized stream of zigzags, starts, stops, turnarounds, circles, departures, and returns.

For much of the way, it seems to go like this, but gradually your footprints come more in line with the Lord's, soon paralleling, His consistently.

You and Jesus are walking as true friends!

This seems perfect, but then an interesting thing happens: Your footprints that once etched the sand next to Jesus' are now walking precisely in His steps.

Inside His larger footprints are your smaller ones, you and Jesus are becoming one.

This goes on for many miles, but gradually you notice another change. The footprints inside the large footprints seem to grow larger.

Eventually they disappear altogether. There is only one set of footprints. They have become one.

This goes on for a long time, but suddenly the second set of footprints is back. This time it seems even worse! Zigzags all over the place. Stops.. Starts. Gashes in the sand. A variable mess of prints.

You are amazed and shocked.

Your dream ends. Now you pray:

"Lord, I understand the first scene, with zigzags and fits. I was a new Christian; I was just learning. But You walked on through the storm and helped me learn to walk with You."

"That is correct."

"And when the smaller footprints were inside of Yours, I was actually learning to walk in Your steps, following You very closely."

"Very good. You have understood everything so far."

When the smaller footprints grew and filled in Yours, I suppose that I was becoming like You in every way."

"Precisely."

"So, Lord, was there a regression or something? The footprints separated, and this time it was worse than at first."

There is a pause as the Lord answers, with a smile in His voice.

"You didn't know? It was then that we danced!"

To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: A time to weep, a time to laugh, a time to mourn, and a time to dance.

Ecclesiastes 3:1,4

Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny isn't it? Are you laughing? Are you thinking? Spread the Word and give thanks to the Lord for He is good!

Funny isn't it, when you go to forward this message, how many on your list are not receiving it because you're not sure they believe in anything?

Sad.

It's not WHAT you have in your life, but Who you have in your life that counts... Think about that.

I ASKED GOD

I asked for a flower,

He gave me a garden.

I asked for a tree,

He gave me a forest ..

I asked for a river,

He gave me an ocean.

I asked for a friend,

He gave me "YOU."

"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don't, and believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it, If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said that life would be easy! Be who you are and say what you feel.... Because those that matter...... Don't mind....And those that mind....Don't Matter!!!"

Angie, I'm so sorry about your sister! You have enough on you right now not to have to deal with something else! We're here for you anytime you want to be here! Hugs to you!

Pirate, your Mom may need a "doughnut" to sit on. It's a foam pillow or a blow up pillow with a hole in the center to relieve the pressure off of her tailbone. I've fell twice & cracked mine & the pillow is about all that they can do for it! Sat on one of the cotton pickin things for months! You can find them at most any pharmacy & they're not expensive, but will help make her more comfortable! If you get one let me know how it works out for her. A cracked or broken tailbone or coccyx is very painful & can take a long time to heal & can be a pain in the butt, no pun intended, until they do heal. Do a google search & see what your options are. Hope she'll feel better soon!

Miz, hope that you're feeling better! I agree that it might be PTSD! Your body's just letting go of all of the stress & wasn't prepared to fight this bug! Hubby's a big boy & can handle tomorrow's outing while you rest & recoup! Still wish you'd go to doc in a box! Some CVS drug stores have minute clinics! At least you could be on meds sooner! Listen to me...you know I'm right! : ) I started to call you today, but thought you might be resting. Wanted to catch up with you about the box. I'm so sorry that it missed you! Will talk to Bobbie to see what I need to do to get yours to you! I didn't know that you were leaving there that soon! Is Georgia, uh Illinois winning? Feel better soon! Love you too!

Linda, glad that Pa protected you when you fell! Glad that he's still eating good! How are you? Did you get your hair cut?

Rossella, I think it's funny that you change your city on FB! Keeps us guessing! Are you really Rossella? lol

Rip, good to read your post! I tried to get you on FB tonight...Sorry I missed you!

Bubba Ted, sounds like you've been working so hard...painted & everything?!?! That's hard work! Please take some time for you this weekend!

Jen, things will be ok with the new job! You'll find the right one & you'll enjoy getting to get out everyday! Freedom!!! Money...MORE FREEDOM!!!

ss, I think that you made the right choice about the Valentine's Day card! My grandmother always said that if you stir in the poop, you're gonna get some on you! This way, you're poop free, but they should get the message, if they're smart at all!

True...NO paperwork...rat's with lipstick really stink!!!

Diane, good for you!!! Write it & burn it as many times as you need to!!! Healing for you...no more control for him!!!

Christina, hope the rose club went well & no thorns! : )

Deef, thanks for the sweet email!

Everybody, thanks for all of your hugs, emails, & encouragement!!! Still feeling warped, but will eventually get better!!! Went back to the doc today for MORE bloodwork!!! Bunch of vampires!!! Told 'em to put me up a tent & put me on the payroll, I've been there so much here lately!!!

Hope EVERYBODY is having a peaceful night, free of black holes! Sweet Angels to all of those who need extra care tonight! One in particular & you know I'm here for you!!!

Please check in if we haven't heard from you in a while, just to let us know how you are!

Forgetter Be Forgotten
My forgetter's getting better,
But my rememberer is broke
To you that may seem funny
But, to me, that is no joke
or when I'm 'here' I'm wondering
If I really should be 'there'
And, when I try to think it through,
I haven't got a prayer!

Oft times I walk into a room,
Say 'what am I here for?'
I wrack my brain, but all in vain!
A zero, is my score.

At times I put something away
Where it is safe, but, Gee!
The person it is safest from
Is, generally, me!

When shopping I may see someone,
Say 'Hi' and have a chat,
Then, when the person walks away
I ask myself, 'who was that?

Yes, my forgetter's getting better
While my rememberer is broke,
And it's driving me plumb crazy
And that isn't any joke.

CAN YOU RELATE???
Please send this to everyone you know
because
I DON'T REMEMBER
WHO I SENTTHIS TO!

Hi Crew,

Sorry I've been missing lately. I've been trying to work through some of my issues with the a$$hole nephew. Everyone keeps telling me to forgive him and move on, so I've been trying. Then my sister calls to tell me I'm being immature and taking the "victim" role because I won't talk to him. Plain and simple, I can't control my nephews damaging outburts, but I can control staying away from him and protecting myself. I feel like I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't. I feel like I'm the rope in a tug of war game with my family. I just don't understand why everyone is putting the responsibility on me when it was my nephew that had the inappropriate outburst of anger and kicked me out his house. I feel utterly confused and exhausted by their BS. Through it all mom is her usual self.

I haven't even read the posts for the last few days so I'm sorry I'm not up on everyone right now. I hope everyone is well and coping with all the caregiver demands. You all are the only ones that understand those day to day demands. My sister is clueless.

Have a good night all and take care of yourselves too.

Luv ya,
Diane

Tough period, Angie.... Sometimes, you don't see the end of it. I am very sorry.
Selfishsib, the idea of the photo is good, but I am afraid it won't change a lot. If I sent my brother the photo of himself and my mother hugging together, for example, he would be moved for an instant, he would say "those were good times" and then he would go on with his life, and he would NOT come visit more often.
SSkape, I change my towns on Facebook depending on the mood. "That" town exists, it's in Iran! Probably in the future I will look for towns that start with "balls" or "b*tch" or something lile that.
Ted you are a wonderful creature, really. You don't even realize how much. You are doing a good job but I hope at least the last 2 days you find the time to relax. Don't worry your mother won't miss her things. My mother does not even remember these are her pieces of furniture. If you find something you can sell, sell it without regrets!
Things are no more important for them. I threw away lots of things when we left my mother's house and I kept all the photos, mostly for myself, because my mother does not look at them anymore.
Miz, I think, too, that when your mother was there you could not afford to be sick. This is a reaction to a period of very high stress... your husband will sure understand.
Rip glad to see you here from time to time!
Bobbie I hope that Georgia is coming soon to visit you after Miz and Hubby have left.
Kiss to everyone else
