I. How We Work in Washington. Based on your preferences, we provide you with information about one or more of our contracted senior living providers ("Participating Communities") and provide your Senior Living Care Information to Participating Communities. The Participating Communities may contact you directly regarding their services. APFM does not endorse or recommend any provider. It is your sole responsibility to select the appropriate care for yourself or your loved one. We work with both you and the Participating Communities in your search. We do not permit our Advisors to have an ownership interest in Participating Communities.
II. How We Are Paid. We do not charge you any fee – we are paid by the Participating Communities. Some Participating Communities pay us a percentage of the first month's standard rate for the rent and care services you select. We invoice these fees after the senior moves in.
III. When We Tour. APFM tours certain Participating Communities in Washington (typically more in metropolitan areas than in rural areas.) During the 12 month period prior to December 31, 2017, we toured 86.2% of Participating Communities with capacity for 20 or more residents.
IV. No Obligation or Commitment. You have no obligation to use or to continue to use our services. Because you pay no fee to us, you will never need to ask for a refund.
V. Complaints. Please contact our Family Feedback Line at (866) 584-7340 or ConsumerFeedback@aplaceformom.com to report any complaint. Consumers have many avenues to address a dispute with any referral service company, including the right to file a complaint with the Attorney General's office at: Consumer Protection Division, 800 5th Avenue, Ste. 2000, Seattle, 98104 or 800-551-4636.
VI. No Waiver of Your Rights. APFM does not (and may not) require or even ask consumers seeking senior housing or care services in Washington State to sign waivers of liability for losses of personal property or injury or to sign waivers of any rights established under law.I agree that: A.I authorize A Place For Mom ("APFM") to collect certain personal and contact detail information, as well as relevant health care information about me or from me about the senior family member or relative I am assisting ("Senior Living Care Information"). B.APFM may provide information to me electronically. My electronic signature on agreements and documents has the same effect as if I signed them in ink. C.APFM may send all communications to me electronically via e-mail or by access to an APFM web site. A news story just the other day featured a couple who were walking their 2 chihuahuas down a sidewalk on a leash during a snowstorm. Both dogs were wearing thick coats. It was about 1:30 am. Suddenly out of nowhere a large owl swept down on one of the dogs and tried to fly away. The attack was quick and the bird did fly, but only as far as the leash would allow. The owners were able to rescue their darling "chico" and he escaped with only bruises and a small puncture wound on his chest. He is afraid to go outside in the dark now, but is otherwise unscathed because he was leashed.
I too have 2 chihuahuas and would be heartbroken if something swooped down to get them. I never let them go out alone, and since I recently spotted a large bird of prey in one of our trees, I'm considering leashing them instead of letting them free chase balls and such.
Hi everyonw-just had our 6th storm of this winter -another due Tus. Cuz love your jokes my cat can not understand why I laugh so much when I am at the computer-I go a baby snowblower electric start work great just as well as the manly ones for years but I can not do the drive anymore so my son used the biger one-my sister has 9 cats all started out as strays first a mother cat and 3 kittens -my mother took two and last winter no 9 arrived she takes them to vets to be tested for diseases and nutured or apayed then interduces them to the group no 9 which is what they call him does not get along with the other 8 so he lives in the basement with their crazy dog. A few weeks ago we had three strays outside our house I told them they found the wrong sister they would have to travel to PA to my sister's house-have not seen them since we have coyotes also so people should not let their cats and hawks-they can pick up small dogs. Hope everyone has a better day today-the snow is piled up so high -can not imagine how it will be after Tue. storm-glad I do not live upstate a few weeks they had had 70 inches this winter.

Angie, what a nice post. I think maybe God puts the caring ones with the elderly on purpose. I believe that God put me here when my short lived marriage fell apart all those years ago. I was getting ready to get my own place and Mom asked me to stay and I did and she sure ended up needing me. I feel so bad for your mom losing her husband. I know that some of my grief over losing my dad was the thought of her losing Dad after all of those years they were married. It is frrrreeeezing here too. Frost around the INSIDE of the doors. Yep, that boat is callin' my name. I feel happy knowing that when the time is right for all of you that you will have the opportunity to go there and spend some time. It seemed like a dream to me and now it's gonna happen. Everyone, try to think positive. I need to tell myself that too. Love yous!!
Burr Burr.... it is freezing here... in ma...... the snow has almost stopped...... Luckily Don came down last night, he is so sweet, he shoveled before he left this morning..... Still feeling crappy, got a nasty cold....... body aches... all that fun stuff . so i am off to take a nice hot shower put on clean jammies, and take a nap.. Made some sleepytime tea last with a shot or so of whiskey,,,,, finally got a good night sleep. Mom is the same, she is just so beside herself..... the other she was upset and afraid the others are going to take her away from me.... she is so sweet, i sat and hugged her, told her i love you mom and that i would fight to the death to be sure that would never happen. But as we all know with sibs, you never put anything past what they may try...... MOM and PAPA were not perfect parents by far, but heck i am certainly not either, but i feel lucky to have them and i feel happy that i am here to take care of mom now. as frustrating and aggrevating as this job can be, i always say to myself better that i am here and not the others, they can be very uncompassionate and mean... ok off to shower now, check in with all my crew of angels later all... love and hugs and smile to each and everyone of you.... angie
good morning my fellow crews . pa was still awake at 2 am , i went on to bed slept with my warm hubby . fast asleep i was . pa finaly woke up about 1030 and had the big feather pillow pulled out of the covers , lol he sure was mad ! its a hellva job for him to pull em out of the sheets , lol but he got it , daddys getting stronger everyday . ate his bfast happy man . cold out heard it s 1 degree . i told dad and my sis that it is 74 degree in here and we are so blessing to have a very warm house and pray for who is cold n freezing . i looked out the window and see my dog soakin up the sun and saw my other cat soakin up the sun by the barn . awww i felt sorry for them , no they re not allowed to come in . piss and shit and spray in the house , so its a no no . gave louie his bath last night , ohh he was a good boy ! let me cut his tangle hairs and scrub him down good with dawn soap :-) . he s all white and shiney ! its the first time ever he behaved himself in the tub , usualy its war when i give him his bath . now he s sleeping and actin like he doesnt feel good . think he s mad at me ? the way he acted last night is like he did wanted a bath . ok lookin at tons of bills that needs paid so i best get to it ! christina woohoo u won !! i think i won one time . sure cant wait to claim my prize and have that speical coffee ! later beer , margaritta , trouble stirin in town , ohh i cant wait ! have a good day u all . ohhhh deefer ! why u cleanin out the drive way for ur daughter for ? i just do the sidewalk , hell with the drive way , i let the tires do all the smashin down . if i had a snowblower yeah i guess i do the driveway too lol . but i dont and im not shoveling , im toooo old for that . gotta save my strenght all on pa . xoxo

F) Tests your physical limits (No it isn't rockclimbing but it sure as hell feels like it.) G) Can make you feel completely bankrupt on all levels. H) CAN MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE A MILLION DOLLARS, A SUPERHERO, AND A WHITE KNIGHT ON A CRUSADE!
Take care of yourselves today. Try and do something just for you, even if it is just for 5-10 minutes.

One of the yard guys said that it was not a big deal (we're talking about sink water here, not pee pee) and that I should feel free to do the dishes or whatever; everybody does it and it's not unsanitary or anything, we are on a big parking lot, but I am reticent.... Ahhh, life on the hard.... the my cousin vinny train goes through and the boat VIBRATES. almost 2 stories in the air and the boat is lightly shaking! pucker factor squared. The train has been here for scores of years and I know the yard has been here since 1928 so I guess it's ok and I'm not going to rattle off the jacks.
