Pirate, I'm very glad you are going to the doctor. And it sounds like your mom is getting good nourishment. They do just decline. It sucks but they do. :(
....well then bobbie has to change her boat like the one FARMERS insurance has now in their ads..did you notice it was the same made into a float for the Rose Parade on New Year's?
miz and deef- my mom is 86 87 in april. Her meds were not changed at all..just think it's all part of the declining part with the amount of food she eats. We (the caregiver and I) make sure she eats something each day. I give her senior mega vitis on the weekend and I know the caregiver give her chocolate ensure with a coffee mate topper of french vanilla...
christina...yes I am nice too but when provoked or messed with...LOOK OUT! .......NOPE did not steal the tequilla...RUM is for us pyratey folks..I drink Sailor Jerry Rum...look it up on the net and it's history and namesake.
re- the sad saga of Nance being upset...she may have no one in her arena that cares and may be lashing out.
WHAT folks are making fun of us on their walls....petty petty petty to do that on a website like this that mean more business (due to the seroius subject of caregiving) than frivolity! If this sole thread blog or whatever you choose to call it addresses and off base subject like all the nasty and gross subjects that do come up in caregiving and they still have to criticize and make fun...THEN THEY ARE SMALL PEOPLE TO START WITH!
Yes, Linda. I'm really going. I'm sorry your so sad. Your time will come. I wish you could go too. I really do. You're such a good person and good daughter.
I am VERY excited. The boat seemed just like a dream to me. And now it's gonna be real. I really truly almost can't believe it.
I talked to a nurse at my mom's doctor today and she said the doc told me that anything I did different would not have mattered and to stop beating myself up. I told my bestest friend that taking care of my mom has changed me. She said she knows it will haunt me. I want to try to remember not the bad times but the rest of the time. She was so dear and so sweet and I remember when we would go out to lunch or go shopping or how she made me treats out of the left over pie crust when I was a kid. She's put sugar on it and bake it in the oven for me. Stuff like that. Her yummy cinnamon toast and how she was my biggest fan and how many times she told me she loved me in her later years.
K, I'm gonna go eat now. Fighting another headache. I'll be back later.

OK, I missed joke time this morning,so you guys get an afternoon delight...
A pirate captain was on the look out for buried treasure. After months of hard sailing, his ship caught sight of land, the land to which his treasure map had been leading. He and his first mate disembarked on the island to search out the buried treasure, which was supposed to lie hidden deep within a swamp at the center of the island. Sure enough, at the center of the island was a swamp, and the Captain and his first mate bravely entered the swamp. Soon the swamp began to get deeper, and the pirate's feet, then ankles, and finally entire leg below the knees was covered in swamp. It was at that time that the Captain banged his shin against something hard. He reached down, searched around, and pulled up a treasure chest. Prying the lock open, the chest revealed gold and jewels beyond imagination! The Captain turned to his first mate and said, "Arrrr, matey, that just goes to show ye, that booty is only shin deep!"
OOOuuuuuu...! AAwwww, come on...smile...it won't breaka you face! lol
Well said, Captain! Words of wisdom! We already have way too much stress in our lives, than to listen to someone's condescending rantings! I really liked the way that you threw her off of the boat by telling her that she 'knows where the plank is: take a hike'! Thanks for taking care of the Crew! You're tops! : )

Good morning everyone! Guess I skimmed the infamous post and really didn't get it. Just reread it and GOT it! Sounds like a real anger issue going on. Can't figure out why, but it is what it is. I'm on your side Bobbie. Been over the coals myself in the beginning, but didn't take it personally. We all have our moments of brain cell loss, but this one takes the cake! Jam, now you are talking! Give 'em hell! They should all be ashamed of themselves! I'm with you, what inheritance? SSK, looks like we have snow coming our way. Keep warm! Ted, thanks for checking in again. Good to know you are feeling stronger! Miz, just missed you on f/b. How are you today? Hope you all wake up to a good day! Kathy
I am trying to get caught up on what I missed last night......I was so darn busy texting back and forth with an immature 19y/o granddaughter who thought she had earned the right to lecture me because her mother has been filling her head full of garbage....by the time I finally yelled at her that I had ENOUGH for one night it was late and I was exhausted. For some odd reason my mother's death seems to have given 2 of my ungrateful, self-centered children the right to spew hatred at me, along with their cousins, and my life was just fine the last several years without them. They were attacking me through emails to my son and they kept harping on an "inheritance". Apparently they must be under the mistaken impression that since this is a medical household there is lots of money....hahahahahahahaha!!!!!! My son gets everything immovable and the things that sit on wheels....we are going to spend every friggin' dime we have! So there you bunch of harpies! Oh my I must be feeling better.............love ya'll
Hey Everyone, still internetless but wanted to check in, Hope all are well and feeling strong, I'm doing okay myself, trying to keep busy and sort out my mind. Bobbie, I don't know how far you've gotten up the ditch, but I want to make sure you know that I am still waiting eagerly for the arrival of the Barbara B, Please let me know your schedule? (Rip has my phone #)
I've read a few pages back and all I have to say is BOAT!!!!
bobbie I support you 200%. Since I have been here I have had nothing BUT support from all of you and the boat is our oasis in the sea of poop, pee, diapers, and heartache that we endure 24/7. I for one thank you for offering to share that with me. If someone doesn't like the way we are there is a little red x in the upper right hand side of your computer screen.......hit it!
