hi I already need to vent and the day has just begun. I was feeling fine and then my brother stopped in, dropped off a gift for my mom, and left. Now I feel like crying. I eish he would just stay the *&^# away. I suppose my Mom was happy to see him. Phew, now that I have vented I feel better.
Georgia! I held my sides! Funny. Nothing like a good poop joke to go with your coffee! If only I had a bearclaw.
the Cat is giving me a trial today. She has been especially psycho and has laid in wait on the steps to spank me twice as well as act like she's sleeping behind this laptop and then the knives come out while I'm typing.
Right now she's shooting me a High Five.
I wish she'd let me vacuum her. That would be a great Christmas present from the Cat. I vacuum myself. that's what a flowbee is. No spare hairs after a trim with that thing. I would cut mom's hair with it. could do it right in bed and there's no itching. Feels good. i don't know how to get the cat to go for it.... Probably pull back a stump.
I should be cleaning the boat but eh.
All of you guys are amazing.
Hey D: Hang out with us on the thread. It's really easier when you just say what's on your mind and you're doing a good job because you're a good person. You like boats, right? We talk about the boat like we're little kids because it's one tool to keeps us understanding that there's a life at the end of this tunnel. You are most invited to hang out with us on the boat, cause we in the Same Boat. WooHoo.
Rossella! you know that there's a lot of polishing on this boat and I should get on it. Hope you'll come someday but not to polish the boat! just to hang out... but if you WANT to polish some brass.......why, who am I to get in the way of such progress? Is the situation in Rome affecting you in any way? Stay safe my friend.
Miz! Getting your Illinois on! You ARE a fiesty one! Deef! from a way earlier post.... naw, it's a roll not a muffin top. I won't wear jeans that squeeze me. that's my liver and spleen in there and they have work to do... loosey goosey. My pants are always ready to about fall off. but for only the right reasons! You are one busy Christmas industry! what a kind offer of the decorated ornaments, but we all hate to see you work so hard. that being said, I'd love one! with a picture of the artist! for the BOAT.
The Cat wants me to chuck toys down the companionway. She hooks them out of her round thing with the hole in it and puts them everywhere. I woke up getting tickled in the butt the other day and it was the feathers from a cat toy that she had under the covers kicking around.
Everybody keep posting throughout the holidays! It gives those of us who are alone a true sense of family and we appreciate it.
Game: describe the most ridiculous Christmas Sweater. That and if anyone puts on the Antlers!!
D, there are times when ALL of us just want to go away for a while. Be strong....I'm sure you are doing a wonderful job for your loved one. Hope the Holidays are peaceful and warm for you!
D, I think you're probably doing a lot better than you think. In some situations, it is the good intentions that are the most important thing. Stay strong and have yourself a merry little holiday!
I have been following since last spring. Feel like I know all of you. I've learned a lot from you all and try my best to be as good as you guys, but oh, there are times I just want to go away. Happy holidays to everyone- make the most of it.
I'm sending good thoughts and best wishes to everyone here. You have each touched my life and made an unbearable situation into something that I can see as bad, but doable.
I wish you all warmth, strength, and laugher for the holidays and for a bright new year.
Merry Christmas Everyone. Enjoy your gatherings and all the good food and egnogg and presents and family photos and christmas services , sleigh bells, etc etc love ya ssk
Good Morning, Everyone. Hubby and I are leaving in a couple hours to drive to his parents. They live about two hours North of here (or shorter the way hubby drives). I may not be able to get on the computer up there so I wanna say:
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!! LOVE YOU LOTS!!!!
We plan to come home tomorrow instead of spending two nights. I really don't like leaving the kitties for two nights with no one to check on them.
I am about 40 miles southwest of Kansas City and it's snowing! Not slick yet I don't think, but forecast is calling for snow and maybe freezing drizzle. I hope everyone is keeping warm and enjoying Christmas Eve..............
Georgia, Your Kitty sounds soo cute, and sounds adorable! I have some cats ,but they're semi wild.I do have a little Yorkie named Tina though.( I'm more of a dog person.) Right now i think I want to be a forester ,or something to do with the outdoors and trees,or something with animals. I think it's supposed to snow here too. Merry Christmas -Lil Tenny
Hark, the Herald angels sing -Glory to the new born king........can't get it out of my head. Xmas Eve....I had nice phone call last night from a neighbor telling my he was glad that I made it out alive and how much he prayed for us this last couple of years. He was a caregiver himself to his dad who passed away two years before my dad. A caregiver is the only one who knows what another caregiver is going through.Compassion and patience I would say are two traits you really need to be a good caregiver.I'm missing my dad and Jeff this Xmas, as alot of you are missing your loved ones,so the ones of you who still have your people around give your moms and dads a extra hug from the ones of us who wish we could hug ours this Xmas.Rip, like your dads xmas look.Linda, like your cat,but I miss your dads picture.Georgia, kid prayed for snow and I think we'll get a little.I had two neighbors bring me a little wood. They saw the loggs I cut myself and I don't think they were as impressed as I.[So they were a little crooked they still burned.]Miz, this is going to be a emotional xmas for you and for Bobbie also,I hope ya'll talk to each other alot through the holidays. This is Bobbies first boat Xmas, that is special in itself.[Cats first xmas too, being boat cat]Bobbie whats the marina doing for Xmas?Rossella how are Xmases different over there -compared to here.HO-HO-HO Now I'm going to go feed the cows
OH, Lil' Tenny, almost forgot...The new photo on my profile is of my baby girl kitty, Gracie. She's a Dilute or Tortise Shell Calico...Mostly black with little gold spots all over her. She's 4 1/2 & my buddy. She sleeps with me every night. My hubby found her beside our back deck steps when she was about 3-4 weeks old. We never did see her Mother or any brothers or sisters so we're not sure where she came from. She was so little & couldn't eat cat food yet so I bottle fed her for a few weeks until she got big enough to eat kitten food. Think that's one reason she thinks I'm her Momma! She loves to play & gives sweet kitty kisses.
Way to go on being so smart & getting good grades! What do you want to be when you grow up?
We're supposed to get snow here tomorrow night & Saturday. I'm in Georgia. How about you guys in Tennessee? Have they said you'll have a white Christmas?
Linda, CONGRATULATIONS to our caregiver of the year! You deserve it, sister! Everybody else ties for First Runner Up! You ALL do an amazing job & I"m very proud to know all of you!
Morning joke time...Old People Football
An old man and his wife have gone to bed. After laying there a few minutes the old man farts and says, 'Seven Points.' His wife rolls over and says, 'What in the world was that?' The old man replied, 'It's fart football... I just scored.' A few minutes later the wife lets one go and says, 'Touchdown, tie score.' After about five minutes the old man farts again and says, 'Touchdown, I'm ahead 14 to 7.' Not to be out done the wife rips another one and says, 'Touchdown, tie score.' Five seconds go by and she lets out a squeaker and says, 'Field goal, I lead 17 to 14.' Now the pressure's on and the old man refuses to get beat by a woman so he strains real hard but to no avail. Realizing a defeat is totally unacceptable, he gives it everything he has, but instead of farting, he poops the bed. The wife looks and says, 'What the heck was that?' The old man replied, 'Half-time, Switch sides.'
EEEEwwwwwweeeee! Well, did it make ya laugh or at least grin?!?! Then I've done my job! : )
Hope all you guys will have a wonderful day! Peach
I think I have given up trying to figure out why some people act like they do. When mil daughter was still alive and they would all get together for dinner, or whatever, mil always started acting like such a snob. Her granddaughters were raised like millionaires, their dad is a doctor and both girls are doctors.....but you couldn't ask for 2 sweeter, loving girls...has always amazed me. They love their grandmother, but they don't make any special arrangements to see her since we moved her close to us. At first I thought that was strange, but then heck they are young, have their own families and I'm not going to give it another thought. And I have decided I am not monitoring her feeding her dog her food anymore.....it's only making me stress cuz she will do as she damn well pleases! I WILL continue to make sure he has clean water.
It's so hard to understand, isn't it, Jam? My mom got to hear my voice and my brother's voice before she died but not my sister's. I just hope Mom did not realize it. She very rarely called so maybe Mom didn't realize. I don't know.
miz every few months I call my younger sister and tell her she really ought to come see her mother and I get this "I know I should see her more"......well so why don't you? My mother was living in Michigan in 2002 when her husband dropped over and was dead before he hit the floor. She had made a life there and husband's family had become hers. Let's face it....my family has always been one of those dysfunctional families. Anyway, same sister and little brother went to MI got in Mom's face and said "you don't have a choice, you are moving back to MO". Brought her back and sis let her stay with her about 2 months, then found her an apt and literally dumped her. She was still in the same town as sis and bro but I had to drive 20 mi to take mom to appt, groceries, etc sometimes after working a 24 hr shift without sleep. So now that mom is close to me, sis still comes to see her maybe every 6 months. I think it's guilt.....and sis and bro will be the 2 wailing and beating their chests when mom passes and someone may have to pull me off of them....:) Have 2 older sisters who took care of our Dad and live over 50 miles away from Mom, so hard for them to come often.
miz , yes it can , it happen to me several times , even with birth control pill i was taking . hubby had me so upset about 20 yrs ago cuz i had my hair perm and looks like shirley temple and he hated it . got me all upset and bam i bleed me a river ! damn sonofabitch . :-) then next week it was period time ! oh boy ,,
