L is right see how long it lasts, anything more than a day is serious, see what her doc says. Sometimes you do just get tired of eating, is she still taking in fluids? Keep a close eye on and keep us informed of how everything is going.
oh miz , i dont know what to do either . i dont have pblms with dad cuz he loves to eat . maybe try ice cream with banana chop up in it . maybe oatmeal cereal with banana in it ? that way she has had something to eat . hope someone has better advice than me , xoxoox
I am having a hard time getting Mom to eat her regular meals. Then, I am faced with giving her sweets to get her blood sugar level up to a decent level. I am so afraid she will bottom out at night while I am asleep. I called the doc and they told me to reduce her night time insulin by 5 mgs. I know that's not gonna be enough. I am really frustrated. I don't know why she's not eating. She just says she's not hungry. Is that part of Alzheimer's? It's really stressing me out at night. I don't want to go check on her in the morning and find her in a coma or worse. Any ideas? I would really appreciate it.
Wow, Pirate. A knife??!! I am as confused as you are about how she ate so much yarn. It makes me think of someone eating a really long string of spaghetti. She also eats rubber bands. I gotta be really careful with her. I'm just grateful she survived. I think I'll put away the knitting thing for awhile.
Well I see I am not crazy with worrying about things my sister does out of the norm. A toothbrush made me laugh, I guess a brush is a brush ! My sister blows her nose and sits the tissue on her plate and continues to eat at least 5 times while she is eating. Now that is gross but it did help me lose 10 lbs. Thank everyone for there stories makes me feel almost sane. God Bless !
oh...by the way...I have a food dicer that makes salsa in seconds flat....also there is a good mexican restaurant - small chain in my neck of the woods that has the best salsa....
they have colored sugars now for the rims of glasses not just salt - yeah...I have some red sugar I picked up at Halloween clearance at Michaels...makes for some good drinks!
mmmm been meaning to make chicken enchiladas.....well tonight b/f wants Hamburger Helper..since we have rain here in CA.....
How in the heck did that darn kitty eat a foot and a half of yarn? Blech! Bet she won't do that again. Pets find the wierdest things to get into sometimes. Recently I remember seeing on the east coast news a news story about some big lab that chowed down on the birthday cake abandoned on the kitchen table when everyone was partying in another room, and he had eaten the long knife that was with the cake...lol...they got it out thankfully. They showed the x-ray to prove it...miraculous...that dog is okay!
Linda, that's good that she can help you out. I do believe things happen for a reason. Some things I don't understand but others I do. Hubby buys lottery tickets almost everyday. You're right, you can win if you don't play. ;)

RIP - yep, right back into my same routine - managing nuts, whiners, 2 year olds and a few adults by day/ disinfecting urine bags by night. I keep asking people at work if they are jealous of the glamorous life I lead these days. Sad thing is my daughter is moving out probably next week. I knew this day was coming and actually thought she would be gone by now. I can't help but feel my only true friend and support system is leaving me. So sad but I also know I can't hold her back just for my own needs. She's not moving far - about 45 minutes away - but I will miss her terribly. :(
Hi everyone Maxine here just got back home today from a week away with my sister and Mom. My sister were able to talk about how our Mom treated us growing up and how hard Mom is still treating me. Kuli I am so sorry for your loss you will find you will be able to give back double. Miz hope Sassy recovers well-my cat thinks yarm is boring which is good because I always have a lot around. Oliva I am so sorry about your Mom.
