You can use Hydrogen Peroxide for lots of things. I use it to whiten my teeth also, I learned the hard way I had to use gloves when clean with it. I also had an email years ago and it was a list of things you can do with it but i don't have it anymore i just use it everything i don't use bleach anymore. and i find the peroxide works, i wish i did know where to buy it in gallons.
Deefer, My husband and i take care of my grandmother we both work we leave home around 6am and return 4pm the caretaker come at 7am and leave at noon so shes home til 4pm by herself, but trust me she don't leave that chair unless she want coffee and it's in the coffee pot, sometimes she might want to cook an egg.she's burn a few pot's, the smoke alarm goes off the the lady next door comes running. So far so good. it's just that when we get home she want to talk us up from the time we get there til she goes to bed, with the same story over and over and over, because she been home for about four hours along. in her mind that forever.
You all take care i'm going home to hear that story about papa and the train.
What does the hydrogen Peroxode do? Is it a pee be gone? Wish I could douse the house in it....
Hey deefer how is things East Side?
Waiting for my mom to come home, blame me for everything as usual. My aunt is gonna call and recommend child proof locks. Mom just gets annoyed anyone talks behind her back but as she wont talk or listen TO anyone so be it...
BGB ~ I received an email about Hydrogen Peroxide! Made sense. I use way too much bleach! Is it all they say it is? I'm on!~ Where do they sell it in gallons?
Ok this is how you get rid of the oder. I use Hydrogen Peroxide in her wash, I put a little in the water she washes up with (just a little) I also use it to clean with (make sure you use gloves) I use it around the base to the toilet because she refuses to sit. I was using bleach it only covers it up for a short time and it was killing me. I use it in washing all the towels she use. Now I clean everything with it and it's cheaper than bleach. try it. when using it straight out the bottle use gloves if not it makes my hands pain. So use the gloves, Oh I clean her teeth.
BGB, Mom is only 83 and can't walk by herself anymore. She fell down all the time, and couldn't remember it happening 5 minutes later! She is now strapped to her wheelchair and in a special walker at daycare, or they wouldn't be able to keep her there! It's really tough getting her out the door and into the car three days a week. Getting her home is worse because she is so tired by then, but won't nap ever! Is your Gram still home alone during the day? Does she have dementia? If so, you're going to need someone to be with her all the time eventually. I had to quit my job over 2 years ago to be with Mom. It's a long road! Glad to see you come here for help. Miz, sorry you are so down lately. Sounds like we all need SLEEP!!!!! Linda, Poor you! Not enough sleep either. Love the boot story. Does Dad wear pull-ups to bed? I found the best ones on the market, if you want the info. Saved me from changing the bed so much. Rip, Pollen in the fall? We have ragweed, dry leaves, etc.,but I don't think any pollen. Jen, Sorry for your bad day! Husband's new owner is coming in tomorrow to take over the business. Hope he still has a job when he gets home!
I know and it doesn't bother me, let me know we will go sit outside...if it is dementia settling in it is gonna be trouble, other wise he just wanted to sit outside and realized a little too late it is not really something he can just go and do anymore...Mom will be home soon,,,hmm and it is all my fault again....
How are you handling the HEAT??? I can't imagine what it's like with an older person... Super heat wipes us all out, & they are fragile ~ But damn it .. so are we!
Whooops ... my sorry sub conscious just hit ... I know it's easier for us younguns ...
But do you ever have an hour of peace?
I know ... define peace? In our lives it's a "moment uninterrupted".
Jsomebody, i feel you, my grandmother just turn 89 this past August. let her tell it she's 90 and has been for a long time now. i'm in Cali and we've been having a heat wave Monday it was 115 yesterday it went down to 105. Monday i get home she's in her chair with a bed jacket on and a throw over her legs. (i don't have air) i walk in and ask are you HOT she told me she's so hot she don't know what to do. i took the jacket off and the throw, around 6:30 the sun started going down but it was still hot, i told her come outside and sit with me, she said no she'll stay in. well yesterday i had a few friends over, the house was still hot, my friends and i got us a cold drink (beer) and went to the back yard. Guess who wanted to come out side. Yes her. any other time you can't get her to come out. i had to stop what i was doing bring her down the stairs. i can bet you five mins had not passed and she wanted to go back in side. I know its the mind, but you don't know how much that gets under my skin. in my mind if you can sit in the house you can sit outside under the tree. Now if i hand not payed her any attention and let her sit, she would have gotten up to go inside and not made it, when will she get it she can't do it by herself anymore. she just took a fall on thursday night, sat in ER all day friday, you think it would still be fresh on her brain. anyway what's a girl to do.
Not space aliens i can take space aliens on top of everything else bleh goway! Whoa, the pollen, have not had that just now, or there are not enough pine trees close by.....
Things just getting complicated here again. After what a two hour rest...
back up Mary ... Banana & Canna Plants. Non native. There are Smokey the Bear trees everywhere around my yard. You wouldn't believe the clouds of pollen!
My Cherry trees are covered too! Achooooo
Hey, Jen. I found a 'push down pump squirter' that fit into bleach bottles. Can he actually use the urinal bottle? Dad never had that problem but was always hitting the can ... uh, toilet. Urge to go ... The prostrate growth was preventing the piss to pass.
If GFP gets to the catheter point, let me know. Might be good for both of you ...
I have tried many things ... made neoprine / velcro leg straps to the Urinary Collection bag. I attached a 5 " surgical tubing to the out flow valve. I have a bleach solution I squirt into it after draining & it tucks up under a velcro strapl
The Fern Side ... very appropriate for Western Washington. The weather has cleared, it's warm in the sun. Sir seems OK but the stupid Evergreen Trees are misting yellow pollen dust everywhere! Cars are yellow! People are sneezing! My broadleaf outdoor plants, (yeah, I grow non-producing for the tropical feeling) have a new, eerie color.
I thinks it affecting our brains .... Everyone is cranky.
AND then my mom called while he was on the ground...and said to me. "YOU had better call and make sure they know he is coming to Adult Day Health!" Like it is my fault he is going...well, it is isn't it, I wanted so free time to spend no money and try to clean his carpet after 24/7 365 for three years and even though she CAN'T stand to even push him in his wheel chair in the store I am the bad guy because I need a break. Bite Me!
I also need underwear. All mine are ripped, shredded and have holes and no I can't buy them myself because while being here 24/7 I am not paid for it and I can not go GET a paying job.... Ah yes my fault as well. Maybe I can get a night job. I am gonna check the want ads now...Anything to get out of here, even if I got to the job interview smelling like his piss! I have got to get out of here........................................
And then ...he fell...yes saw it coming but I was right there...He tried to maneuver himself back inside and realized finally he IS past the walker stage....it got away from him, he couldn't pull it back and slipped slowly to the pavement. He just wanted to sit in the sun, but nothing is that easy anymore..it just isn't. He fell in slow mo so no injuries though he did land on my foot. what ever called 911 for a lift assist, they came all he was was dusty and annoyed but back in now havin coffee, and I thought bleach wash would be the worst of it...maybe I don't know, killed germs that would given me an infection who knows,,,,,,,,any how...Next?
things just a little to much in the Weed Belt here rip, hows things there in Fern Side?
Ouch ... bad vibes from the dry side! I hear ya, girlfriend. All the seniors seem cranky & out of it lately.
We should create a game. How many steps to reach the Dark Hole. I've seen people doing Treasure Hunts, etc. on FB ...
or is it the Black Hole? CFR, Miz!!!
Had 2 quick jobs from long time clients come in this morning. Nothing worth money. On is for a Helicopter Rescue company. Need legal lettering. In the old days I whip em out & run upto the airfield ... maybe go up for a spin.
And then he gets up and instead of grabbing a few cookies he lets himself outside...down the stairs, into the yard...to sit in the sun. I go get the walker and put the brakes on with the seat down...Fine sit outside. You fall and break a hip well, the doctor told you the life expectancy for post hip break elderly....
Definitely a vent from me here...Yesterday was fine, I just had a Hydrogen Collider over my head, today I can't win...While cleaning out fart pants urinals I dropped the bleach bottle and splashed myself up to my ass in straight bleach, coulda been worse coulda been the urinal...had to get a quick shower, wash towels i used for the bleach, come back up I pick up his little milk container to put away and drop that behind me and , yes splash my ass again. Lovely. I wipe my legs off, put down paper towels go get mop and bucket fill it.........come back he is tracking the spilled milk all over the house one end the the other, and tried to put the milk container I had set in the sink int the fridge, (you know being helpful, why he thought it was IN THE SINK, I don't know) I said I had to wash it it fell on the floor.."oh" he says intelligently...Just die already you god damn pervert just die! Mop up well the house from door at back to kitchen end and bathroom, well bathroom first the bleach may help...considering he rolls in his own urine every day in hie peedle then trails it All over the HOUSE any wonder it smells like, well a bad nursing home here. Remove it? What and embarrass her father Hell No....Stupid stubborn bitch.
It is about 60 degrees out now I have all the doors and windows open, it should warm up in a bit to where even he won't insist on a jacket, like 83...
I am going to go read. Thank God for Historical Novels.
I hope everyone else is doing OK today. Take Care.
you know i have been trying to think of a way to get my grandmother awake during the day. i think a nap or two is fine but that sitting in that chair sleeping all day keeps them up all night. she will go to be around 7pm then she up around 2-3am thinking it's tilme to eat breakfast. she use to would not get out that bed til she see's the sun up. thursday night /friday morning 2:30am my husband hear's this big tump and then the word help. he's goes in her room and shes on the floor. her head hits the dresser. he ask her where was she going she was going to get coffee, thinking it was morning. i don't have to tell you the rest i spent the rest of the morning in the ER she stayed till Sunday what a rest i needed. shes ok, and everything back to the way it was, she still getting up all times of night/morning looking for coffee and breakfast. What's a girl to do?

Fell asleep watching the weather channel. boat rocks and I'm out. supposed to get a lot of rain today.
Deef! I hope that you and your husband make it through this time without him losing his job. sux. If he does lose his job, tell us what kind of cars they sell and we'll all tell everybody we know to never buy one of those things again. even used.
Miz! thinkoftheboat I'm going to keep fixing her so you can c'mon down!!
Linda!! love you hope you get some time to write today, I really love it when you growl. grrrrr
Everybody!! love you and have to get ready for the marine guy AKA boat angel.
Oh, Jen, yes! I am feeding them every day. They are already better. The youngest one, when he sees my car, he runs toward me, which means he is strong enough to run, now. He is always as meagre as hell, but if I continue to feed him every day, I think he will very well in a few weeks. I have to do it when the shepherds do not look at me. I am sure they have understood, but they are not telling anything. Hope it goes on like this!
Thank you everybody. I knew you would say the right things. People that don't go through the same things, usually say: "You have to be patient! It's not their fault". So, they talk to your brain again. You talk to the soul. Which is good. Bobbie thank you that you wish you could help me. The financial problems wiil find a solution... I am working very hard. It was just a bad period. It does not mean that we will swim in a pool full of gold coins, like Donald Duck's uncle (Uncle Scrooge?), but we will be better in one month or two. Thanks so much! I am as strong as a rock
right now the Barbara B is doing what boats do: being a hole in the water you throw cash in but I wanted to have some ducats for Rossella and everybody. youknowwhatimean.
The wind is howling through the rigging and the sailboats are moaning. we're rocking more than I've experienced yet. Exciting and somewhat scary!!
We have 7 lines to the dock from every hausepipe and cleat and also around the big doodad on the bow that the anchor chain runs to.
Oh Rossella, I am so sorry that your mom is hurting your feelings. of course you're allowed to have feelings and emotions and I know and the women here know the frustrations of dealing with someone we've given everything up for treat us badly.
It's not right, but it is. We love you and are so happy to see you again. I wish I had a gold mine.

Off to look at weather.com BRB.
