Yes Linda, I unplug the computer, but I cannot unplug the modem because my telephone goes with the modem, (it does not work if the modem is off). I was lucky my TV was not fried, too! My friends call me Rosie, or Ross, or Ro
good to see u rossella , i love ur name . my oldest sisters name is rosita , we call her rosie . i would love to have ur moms enegry ! maybe i will when i get to be her age ? lol ure so sweet to bring her bed in the living room . wow ! shes so lucky to have u ! remmy the next time storms a coming unplug the computer from the walls ! i know the power surge suppose to help but i dont trust them anyway . ya just never know ... take care xoox
Hi crew! A storm fried my modem, I think Sept. 13. It was such a bad storm that my dog Camilla, who is very afraid of storms, disappeared. I looked for her everywhere and I found her hidden in the shower booth! She was trembling and shaking and refused to move until the storm was over. This morning they gave me a new modem, so I'm back on line. I missed you all and I could not work, but I must say that I spent the last two nights SLEEEEEEEEEEPING AND SLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPING AND SLEEEEEEEEEEEEPING so it was not so bad after all. When I tried to download the mail, I received 140 notifications by Aging care. And after 2 minutes I received the 140 notifications again. And after 2 minutes, the 140 notifications again... and again... and again... I swear! 10 times! I had to cancel 1400 notifications from my box. I went on the site and I cancelled the option "please notify when others respond" (I shall see the site every night anyway) because when it downloaded and downloaded without stopping, I felt I was under the attack of aliens! We are living in an insane asylum these days. My mother is crazy and I am crazy, too. I see from your posts that you have your problems, too, so I think it's part of this game we are playing. It's a game that we have not choosen, but we have to play it! Tomorrow I shall have the results of my mother's blood and urine exams and I definitely think she has an UTI. I hope that when she will be treated, she will be better again. Right now, I had to increase her dosage of Seroquel because it was impossible to keep her quiet. She wants to go everywhere, she is not well anywhere, she takes her bag and opens the door because she wants to go away. She sleeps in the living room because she can't stand her bedroom anymore. We put her bed in the living room, so she can watch TV and feel asleep with a noise in her ears. She sleeps better, but in the middle of the night she wakes up and goes everywhere, always with the purse under her arm, saying that she wants to go home. My goodness, that woman has swallowed nitroglycerine. Where does she find all that energy? She goes out from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., she does not stop a second. A young person would be exhausted after a day like that. She is as fresh as a rose, she is killing us all. She is killing Daniela, too, and she is only 28. My mother is bionic. Enough nonsense for today! I'm sorry for all of you who feel bad/sick/depressed, I'm glad for all of you who are having a decent day (a "good" day maybe it is too strong a word for people who live like we do). Georgia!!!!!!!!!!!! Next time I hear from you, you must have had your cure! What is happening to you is absurd. Next time they do not give you an answer, yell, make a lot of mess so they have to listen to you. Don't be kind. They do not deserve it. I am reading your advices about antidepressants, too, because I will need one very soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kisses to U all
thanks for keeping me and Nik in your thoughts! It means a lot to me and when i tell Nik that the 'Ladies on the thread are thinking and praying for you' it makes him feel not so alone either.
Igor willmiss us big time but the East coast will have the crazy rip currents and 6-10' seas so we will stay on the inside and out of harm's way.
i got signed off on today so now I am qualified to operate the boat on my own!! big deal. Since we have the room I will still have a Cap on board for awhile because it's too good of a learning opportunity to pass up.
I can't answer everybody individually but all you ladies that are suffering with everything from Depends in the fridge, (What's for dinner? I dunno. depends.......) to getting your husbands job bought and sold without any warning, to extreme headaches and systems that don't understand that waiting for medication is not acceptable, to congestive heart failure and getting farted on.. please know that I think of you all ALL the time.
kuli . u ask about shall i let sister know the result . i tell you one thing , she will call you if she wants toknow . if she doesnt call you then too bad . im always concerned about my dad when he was in fla thousand s miles away from me . my brother got tired of me calling , hows dad ? is he going to be ok ? etc . lol . he said i will call u if theres any changes , ah ok . so i would call him few days later . sorry bro , couldnt wait i got worried . so . that says how much i care .... if they dont call then they are not concerned .... i wish ur sister could be with you as i know its good to have moral support and someone to hang out in the hospital or at home ! it sucks when they dont , heartbreaking . sucks when dad says where s ur siblings ? ah dad i dont know . watching him get sadder in the eyes , realy sucks !!! dont forget we re here for ya friend ..xoxo
I just got the call from the doctor's office about the antibotic. The results of the urine culture didn't come in today & since they close at 1:00 tomorrow, if it doesn't come in by then, it will probably be MONDAY before I can get the medication!!! Somthing's bad wrong with the system!!! I don't think they care if I'm misreable & have been for weeks, now!!! My stress level has just went through the roof! You're caught between a rock & a hard place with their weird hours to be open! AAUUUGGHHH!!! Sorry, just had to let it out in a way not to stress hubby! Please keep a good thought that it'll come in tomorrow...
Kuli, like lharde said, we're all here for you...side by side! Yes, I agree with you about your sister! Some people are so self-absorbed! I think we've all experienced that! Makes me mad! I wish that we all lived closer to each other so we could physically help each other!
deef, cc I don't know what to say...my thoughts are with both of you, as the rest of the clan! My heart is breaking!
Linda, Sister, it sounds like you've got your hands full. I'm so sorry that your Dad is having such problems. I know that it makes you sad to see him this way. And then to have to deal with a MIL & BIL coming again & the problems with the MIL...how in the world are you doing it?
Bobbie, I agree with Linda that I hope Ingor misses you! How are you & Nik doing? You guys are still in our thoughts!
Shimmy, Welcome to the thread! This is the happening place to be! WHEW about the depends in the freezer & the fridge!
miz, I'm glad that you're going to the driving school. Let us know how it turns out. Lots better than your insurance going up...And I agree that I don't understand how insurance premiums keep going up when the value of the car goes down! What gives insurance companies?? Do we need to add them to the same group as lawyers & doctors?
deef & rip, glad to know that Rossella's ok & it was just a modem malfunction. I miss hearing her antics!
Still no call from the doctor about the new antibotic, so I called them & they said that they'd call me back. They close in 35 minutes so it will probably be tomorrow before I get the new meds! And they close at 1:00 tomorrow! GGRRRrrrrr...There's gotta be a better system!!!
Yeah, and my sister JUST told me she is not in town tonite or tomorrow. Nice how well she communicates. Says I should let her know if anything changes with his condition. This with her knowing that dad gets very confused when in the hospital so guess I'll be camping out here for a few days with no relief. I get so tired of doing it all alone. Sorry, feeling a little sorry for myself right now.
CC, I too have been kicked by Mom, and hit, and she's wiped sh!t on me! She was never a bad Mom, but now she gets so frustrated because she can't say or do what she wants. I treat her like a child and scold her and make sure she knows she can't do things like that, but in the end, she doesn't even remember it happening. They do sometimes get more violent as the disease progresses. That is why they have lock-down in Alz. units. It's for their protection and everyone else. If you can no longer feel safe with her, maybe it's time to place her. Sorry to say, but we will all probably have to make that decision some day. Good luck! Kuli, sorry you are at the ER again. It's so frustrating!
Back in the ER today. He's back in congestive failure. Poor guy. He tries so hard to do the right thing and still has this problem. He had his aortic valve replaced in January with the hopes that this wouldn't happen. I guess we should be happy it doesn't happen more often. Hope everyone else has a better day than I!
hi there my shipmate folks ! ckin in to see how everybodys doing . tenison exedrine is the best . 15 mins bam headaches gone . shimmey .. oh noooo sorry about ur mom s depend ! lucky u found them whew ! welcome to this site ! wonderful ladies here ! deefer hope somebody puts in a good word for ur hubby while he s on vacation so he;ll still have his job when he come's back . dad s been whiney , think uti is back . he looks pale in the face and so weak . he just finish his antibodi few wks ago and dr tested his piss and it cam eback clear . this morning this whole house smells like amonia . bettin uti is back again . :-( need to take him to speicalist which i have done that few times , dad turns the dr down about stickin scope thru his penis . so i feel like im wasting our time and enegry to tak ehim to speicalist , knowing dad will growl at him and say no ! AGAIN , he s choking more and more . muscles in his throat is about to quit working . :-( . my mil and bli is coming tmr and staying all weekend again ! they were here all weekend on labor day wkend , bout drove me nuts . a whole week later my sis kept smelling stinkin pee in her room , ahhh found trash can full of piss !!! mil is pissing in the trash can instead of bathroom . shes 84 yrs old with alz getting worst . i think shes 84 ?? ah sometimes i feel like i have alz , grrrrr you all have a good day !!! xoxoox

castoff, I have my paperwork ready to turn in for the traffic school. I gotta get the cash today and take it downtown tomorrow. You're so right. I don't want my insurance going up. It's so high already. This is something I don't get. Why do insurance rates goes up even though the car value goes down????
angie, i sure hope you can get that state insurance. Mine is through the State of Illinois but it ain't free by a long shot. I hope yours is a better deal. I will think good thoughts.
OMG deefer. That sucks so bad. I hope and prayer that your husband's job is secure. Thanks for the news about Pirate.
My headache is pretty much gone. Took my meds and 3 Advil and that seems to be helping. I'm gonna tell my doc I need 4 anxiety pills a day instead of the two he has me on. Whatever gets me through the days and nights I gotta do. Angie, maybe I'll get some of the Excedrin Tension and try it. Thanks for the suggestion. :)
Angie, it sounds like you are making great progress. I really hope you enjoy your time away. Try not to worry about anything but having fun and relaxing.
GP, he is the dispatcher in the garage, and coordinates the work and the mechanics. He decides who does what and when to expedite the work efficiently. It's a tough job, and one no one else likes to do when he is on vacation. Lots of planning and knowledge involved. Sure hope it's good enough to keep him in a job. I guess we'll have to deal with a health insurance change again too. Always something to add to the stress levels. Got to love it!!!
deef, you didn't say what your husband does at the car dealership. We're just gonna believe that he still has a job! The new owners still have to have employees! They can't do everything theirselves, right? This could be a good thing! We have a friend whos company was bought out by another company & they automatically got raises & other benefits to bring them up to the new parent company's standards! Hope you & your husband will still be able to enjoy next week on vacation with your day trips & not worry about the job! Everything's gonna be ok!
rip, what a mess with the stuff down the hallway! yuck! That must have happened after we got off of FB.
angie, sounds like your new digs are coming right along! I like the beach theme, too. Makes you feel like you're on vacation all year! Post some photos when you get it done. Hope your day will be easier!
Waiting for the doc's office to call & tell me to go pick up my new antibotic...
Miz, sorry about your headache! Maybe you aren't used to getting so much sleep!!! Pirate is fine. She asked me to tell everyone she is very busy at work and will catch up later. Her Mom has been cooperating this week! Will wonders never cease!
Hey Miz, Have you tried excedrin tension for the headache. I get severe migraines, when i am under alot of stress, ok when arent i lol lol.. so i know all about headaches....Hope your head feels better... Hugs Angie
Good Morning, Everyone. I haven't read all of your posts but I will try to later. I woke up with a headache/tiredness this morning after about 9 1/2 hours of sleep. Mom got up once during the night. I think it's tension. Tension in my life. Can't relax.
Crap is not the word, shi# is more like it, for real. lol The days are long and tiring for sure. We are all dealing with the same stuff i guess. Dad and I told mom that her bewitching hour is between 6 and 7 pm. Actually more like 5-7 but she has been good this week, She has been going to bed earlier, which is good, and then I put pop to bed, both in bed before 9, then my party begins. Have the apt across the hall almost done. My daughters room is all set and i am working on bedroom now, the living is done, don and i will be painting it. going for beach house theme. Since i love the ocean. So i guess for me, this has been a decent week, so major issues except for the norm. Can not wait for sat, whoo hoo........ leaving at 7 am and not returning until late sunday afternoon.... PARTY PARTY LOL LOL........ beback pops is ringing...... love you all hugs angie
And just when life couldn't get any better, my husband calls. He just called from work to tell me that the car dealership where he works has just been sold!!! No warning from the owners!!! Now we won't know if he still has a job or not. Supposedly the new owners will be taking over in a week or 2. Guess what? He's on vacation next week. He won't even be there to find out if he still has a job!!! ShitShit! and more Shit!!!!
Angie... you are dealing with too much crap! I wish I could say more, but I just cleaned up a trail of sh*t in the hallway. Dad had a shower. Took forever ... me standing by. Came downstairs for a Redhook beer & a breath of fresh air. This life is pathetic sometimes ...
ShimmyPrincess .. you may not know it but you just joined our group!
Beware ... do not try eating while reading this thread. I learned that a while back. Don't log on while trying to enjoy a meal. The topics are Real... The people Are Real! The topic of ElderCare is Real!
Commecial is over. You need to throw out soiled diapers she stashed in the freezer? YUCK! Sorry for you! I hope they were frozen solid without too much stench.. Gag ....
just cleaned my moms apartment and found soiled depends in the fridge & freezer. She says she didn't want her home to smell. I'm not eating there every again...so grossed out and she's fine with it!
