They gave him steroids.
THAT IS HEAVY DUTY VERY POWERFUL meds.
What did they say they were giving him steroids FOR?????
Are they aware of the history of Malaria that RealyReal picked up on?
This is not nothing, and if they are giving steroids and not know what they are giving them for, and he is worse and getting fever and swelling back again, then he needs to see the doc again at the least, and if he is too weak or ill to do that you need to call the ambulance whether he likes it or not and that will get him seen in a cubicle ASAP because he sounds at present much too ill to sit about in an ER for three hours.

So sorry this is going on but you need an answer and he may need a scan. His body is having a huge inflammatory response with the joint swelling and pain. Something is afoot and you must have answers.

Has he ever had a flare like this before? This doesn't come from working too hard.
Sorry Daisy. You need to pursue answers.

Dear Driving daisy,
I have learned that our Healthcare system just checks and treats the main symptoms that are complained about, and then refer to someone else for anything more.
Patients need to be persistent in advocating for their own care.
Unfortunately, your husband seems to be persistent in minimizing his symptoms and avoiding getting any diagnoses. Perhaps he is afraid of what they may find.
My neighbor came home from work with an excruciating and unusual pain in his back. He wanted a diagnosis, but It took 3 months of referrals and tests to finally be diagnosed with bone cancer. Once diagnosed, treatment started immediately. But the wait time to get in to see specialists for further diagnostics was unbelievably long.
Please talk to your husband with tough love. He needs to be aware that this issue is causing you heaps of stress.

No casole, I wasn't happy, because I wanted that done. He has a physical in June so at least if he isn't better, and won't go to doctors then I have that.

Also started wondering if it's long covid , mixed with his usual possible malaria. He got really sick in December, then in January he was still coughing, they put him on steroids, and he started not looking good in March.

I don't usually freak out from his fevers , but this is too much

Hi. Probably a dumb question but did the doctor do a complete blood count? Seems so basic I know I have found with my mom so much is told from the blood.. I hope you and he both get some relief soon, him from feeling unwell and you from worry. Hugs.

Daisy, may The Lord touch your husband's body and give him complete healing.

Just curious, have you tried the tonic water when he is feeling feverish? You had mentioned that he had contacted malaria in the war and that can show its ugly head anytime.

Great big warm hug to you! Watching our husband's be unwell is challenging.
