Lol, realized last night on the drive home from DH's colonoscopy that I had forgotten BP pills 2 days running. BP was 204/165.

Back on track now. Thanks to you all.

DD is travelling tomorrow to meet fictions "master coder". Prayers much appreciated.

Oh Barb - that way too high.

Please make your health a priority. and remember those pills. I know it's easier said than done when you are going through family stress. I have reminders on my iPhone for taking pills/supplements, watering my plants, changing kitty litter and so on.

Definitely praying for you and yours, especially your dd.

Lord, put a hedge around Barb's dd and protect her from harm. May angels surround her. Open her eyes to the truth - to your truth - and give her wisdom in all her decisions. In your name.

Deep breaths!!! ((((hugs)))))

I have not had a problem gulping down the colonoscopy prep. I think the trick is to not think about it. Barb, take your meds!

Disturbing about the DD, Barb. Please, if there is a God, watch over Barb's daughter!

Gun violence is just beginning to happen out here in the boondocks, rural, an hour away from the major metro area. An incident tonight, man shot and killed the boyfriend of the assailant's sister. This is the second or third this year.

I NEED to get out of here! Course it is happening everywhere. Rural does not protect a person any longer.

Struggling all week at work with a horrendous cold and cough ( not Covid ) . 2 more days to go .

If there is a next life ,
I WANT TO BE A CAT !!!
My cat is calm , happy , not stressed.
She’s warm , comfortable , no worries .
She naps whenever , wherever , and she knows she’s loved .
And she never catches a cold!

But she is my Covid kitty because that’s when I rescued her 😹

Way,

My daughter rescued her dog during Covid. She met him through a Zoom meeting because she wasn’t allowed to go inside.

She said when they brought him out to the car he jumped right in and started kissing her.

He is a beautiful Siberian husky. He had eaten a wild rabbit and his owners took him to the vet and never went to pick him up.

Lots of people lost their jobs during Covid so maybe they couldn’t afford the vet bills. Once they gave him meds to get rid of his upset stomach he was fine. My daughter loves that dog! He is so sweet.

I hope you feel better soon. Colds are miserable.

Barb,

Glad your husband’s colonoscopy is over.

Occasionally, I forget to take my blood pressure meds. I keep saying that I am going to do what my husband does with his meds. He sets an alarm on his phone.

Several fires across the state. After all that snow, things dry out so fast and the winds in many places are more than 50 mph.

Couldn't play my Sudoku yesterday, for some reason the app was down. The day was just not complete. ;)

Barb, hope you hear from daughter soon.

So, my friend called a bit ago and said that her mom is not doing well after falling awhile back. Her mom lives in the adjoining unit of the condo that she and her husband own.

My friend was able to get home health come in to help. She isn’t able to take any more time off work to be with her mom. She works at a busy law firm.

So, now my friend’s brothers are going to their mom’s condo several days a week to help their mom. They are both retired and live quite a distance away from her.

My friend suffers with sciatica and can’t do the physical requirements that her mom needs. One of her brothers has a bad back too.

Anyway, the mom has her sons helping with everything, even getting her on and off the toilet, changing her depends if needed at night and so on.

She is screaming for them not to place her in a nursing home. It’s a mess.

My whine is that so many parents truly don’t care how much they inconvenience their children and expect them to be there for them 24/7.

The mom is getting used to her sons being there a lot! Since they have long commutes, each of them have been sleeping in her spare bedroom. They are taking turns sleeping there a few nights out of the week.

I told my friend this evening that I nearly went crazy trying to keep up with my mom and that she and her brothers need to put an end to this madness.

I guess she will stop when she is sick and tired of being sick and tired.

I feel for my friend. I really do. I remember how hard it was for me.

Tonight wasn’t the best time for me to be involved with her mom’s crap though.

I need to get a good nights sleep so I can wake up early to take my husband to the hospital for his surgery.

Going to bed. Goodnight everyone and whine away. Lord knows, many caregivers have lots to whine about.

I would never want my son getting me on and off a toilet or changing me.

Goodnight, need. Hope you sleep well and dh's surgery goes well tomorrow. Sorry about your friend and her family. I guess they need some boundaries as regards their mum's care.

way - absolutely!!!

As far as I know R had his surgery today and likely is still in hospital. I am sure he will contact me when he can. No news is good news, but I can't help wondering. He isn't always the best at communicating,

I am still getting through a nasty flare up after his visit a week ago. Two days of just blah exhaustion, three days of pain, two days of brain fog and now am getting sweats. They are much more tolerable than what I had the previous days. I have to figure a way of avoiding or reducing these flare ups after more activity than usual. I always believe there is a way - you just have to find it. 😊

@NeedHelpWithMom I not only have to set an alarm on my phone, reminding me to take my blood pressure meds, I also have to keep them in a pill box. Otherwise, I cannot remember if I took them when the alarm went off. 🤔 BTW, you reminded me to take mine tonight. 🤣

Glad -good advice I deemed it necessary to have repairs done before listing the house. Having R do them is less stressful to me than trying to find someone else here. It is still extra activity in the house no matter who does it. Extra activity in the house affects me. I suppose if I sold the house as is I could have avoided it but probably would have to sell at a lower price. There is a cost one way or another.

NHWM, I hope your husband’s surgery is quick, easy, and “unremarkable”.

Barb and Victoria, did you take your BP meds?!

Nhwm, good luck with the surgery!

Yes, took my meds.

Texted daughter to ask how the weather was (most innocuous thing I could think of). So, she seems to have gotten where she's going.

Thank you mightily for all the prayers, good wishes and PMs.

Anti whine - Praise God, R is home from surgery and dr said it went well. So glad to have this one out of the way. I know he has some healing time and follow ups will be booked for later. Thanks to Llama, Eva and others for wishes and prayers. One stressor out of the way.

Need - thinking of you and your hub. Hope it is going well.

Barb - any news from your dd?

Victoria - I keep my pills/supplements in an pill box and set reminders on my iPhone. Learnt that from my dd. 😊

We didn’t leave the hospital until 4:00 this afternoon after my husband’s surgery.

Everything went well. It’s tiring to spend the day at the hospital.

Thanks, everyone. I appreciate your support.

Golden,

So happy everything went well for R.

Isn’t it fabulous how surgeries have improved? It’s all done laparoscopically now.

I remember when my younger brother had an emergency appendectomy when he was in college and they cut him open.

Same thing for my dad, they cut him open to remove his gallbladder. Now an appendectomy and gallbladder removal is less invasive.

My husband only has three very small cuts. His nurse was marvelous. She told him that he will only be sore for 3 to 4 days.

When the nurse was asking him questions, she turned to me and asked if he snored. I said, “Yep! But I snore too, so it’s okay!”

She laughed and said that we canceled each other out and had white noise to fall asleep with. LOL 😆 It’s funny, when he goes out of town I kind of miss his snoring. Does that make me weird? Hahaha

I was getting coffee when the doc finished up and wanted to speak with me. I’m a caffeine junkie and landed in PJ’s coffee shop in the hospital! So, he spoke with me on my cell. Nice guy, even told me to enjoy my coffee!

If our grandparents came back and saw all of the improvements they would be shocked!

I can’t even imagine going to the dentist in the old days! Ouch!!!

Who hates snoring? I hear about people that sleep in separate bedrooms due to snoring.

I have awful allergies and asthma too. My husband doesn’t have allergies or asthma but I swear, he starts snoring as soon as his head hits the pillow! I am immune to it after 40 plus years!

My mom was a very loud snorer! Daddy too.

I'd love to find the 'perfect' place to live. 50's at night, about 70 during the day, not humid. No
hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires or blizzards. Does such a place exist? :)
