Thanks House! We also don’t use an agency.

House, I’m so glad you and your mom had such a touching bday party for your mom!! 95!!

I’m really glad the caregivers are very good, kind, warm people!!

HH,

It’s true, we often meet very special people along the way during tough times, whether it’s caregiving for someone else or our own struggles.

Thanks for sharing such a lovely story. I am glad that your mom had a happy birthday and that you were able to enjoy the celebration too.

It can be hard to find reasons to be happy when there is pain and suffering involved.

My mom died at the age of 95. I grew so tired of caregiving. I did try to make her birthdays special for her. Caregiving often ends up being a mixed bag of emotions.

Hang in there, HH. I wish you peace and joy in your life.

Llama,

Have you been tested for allergies? New allergies can develop at any point in time.

I hope that your headaches and sinus infections let up soon.

So I had my DH take me to emergent care facility today for the headache and possible sinusitis. I was appalled at the treatment I received!! I told the doctor that I have had sinusitis many times and what the antibiotic was that helped rid it. She refused any antibiotic and slammed the paperwork down on the table, stormed out like a child, leaving the cabinet open. As I was walking out, I fortunately heard a staff member call out "Ma'am." He gave me Flonase. Irate, I stopped at the front desk to tell them it was shocking to say the least and to get a phone number to call. This was hard for me as I am a very unconfrontational person. A person goes to the doctor to get well, not to be screamed at.

Hi Llama,

“But I only recently starting eating raspberries as a gut help. Thank you, though.”

I understand. But it can’t be the first time in your life you eat raspberries. For sure you tried as a child, and also as an adult. And no headaches happened.

I really don’t think they caused your headaches.

Sinus headaches are common and well-known. I think that’s much more likely.

Hope the medicine they gave you helps a lot!!
(((Hug)))

What does the doctor think is the cause of your headaches?

Report

Hi Llama,

Typical symptoms of allergy are itchiness, and/or rash, etc…

Headaches can have hundreds of causes. I hope you get well soon! I hope the doctor figures out the cause/treatment. Hopefully the Flonase medicine solves it.

Oh Llama, that is unfortunately the state of our medical industry nowadays.

I had a "drunk as a sailor on leave" doctor when I went to an urgent care eye specialist. She wanted to scrape my eye to get the piece of wood out. YIKES!!! NOT!!! I am hesitant to use them now.

I feel for you. I found out from trial and error, when I started getting massive headaches, that I can eat avocados occasionally and no more then half of one, or I get a blasting headache. So, it does happen and is such a pita.

Who would have thought you can eat something occasionally and in minimal quantities, be totally fine and turn around to have such a terrible reaction when it is introduced on a larger scale.

May The Lord touch you and show you something equally as good for the gut.

ITRR: Oh, my! That doctor who wanted to scrape your eye should not have been practicing medicine. You're right about the medical industry. Sorry about your intake of avocados. I do know my food related migraine triggers, though the raspberries caught me off guard (if that's indeed the culprit). Thank you so much. After seeing my ear doctor today, I will begin ear drops for an infection. May be the cause of the headaches. I cannot do the doctors' work anymore.

Venting: Thank you.

Yes in re the symptoms of allergy.

I am a migraine headache sufferer.

The doctor figured something out? Yeah, right! Not.

If I ate raspberries as a much younger individual instead of a seventy six year old, it's possible that it was not an issue IF indeed the tannin count did not precipitate a migraine.

As I said, that doctor screamed and threw paperwork at me.

Llama,

I have a friend who can’t drink wine or eat chocolate because it will trigger a migraine. She hasn’t had wine or chocolate in years. She says that it not worth getting a headache over.

ITRR,

My word! Scrape your eyeball? That’s insane.

“As I said, that doctor screamed and threw paperwork at me.”

:(

But the other man gave you Flonase. Hopefully it works. He must have said what diagnosis he’s giving it for. He can’t just give medicine without saying what the diagnosis is. I guess sinus?

I wrote “I hope the doctor figures out the cause/treatment.”

I just mean whatever doctor you might need to see. Maybe the Flonase man figured it out.

I hope your migraines stop soon!!

Venting: I don't have much faith in that medical practice. I did not start the Flonase yet as I had another doctor appointment today. It has to be primed. Yeah, not so much on the person (man) who hollered after me to give me it. He wasn't the person to figure anything out.

Thank you. I, too, hope for headache/migraine relief. 💗💗

Ugh day. Just venting, not looking for feedback. Just need to get it off my chest.

I wonder if anyone on the forum was able to turn their life around, while the LO is alive. I don’t mean, just making it a bit more bearable for oneself by taking some of the load off one’s shoulders. I mean, really turning their life around.

If not, please be the first.

3. Evaluate how you spend your time.
4. Find your passion.
5. Love yourself, even during tough times.

The internet on my PC is offline for some reason and I'm limited to WiFi on my phone. I spend my whole day on line and this sucks big time, I don't know how people live on their tiny phones

cwillie, if I understand your problem correctly, can you use your phone as a hotspot to access your wifi for your other devices? I'm on a Mac so can't give you specifics for a PC, but go to YouTube and and search this: "How to use your phone as a hotspot for pc" -- many instructional videos will come up. Also in YouTube, search for "how to fix a PC that can't connect to the internet". Hopefully one will help you.

Unfortunately my PC isn't WiFi capable. They are sending a tech on Friday so I will wait it out. But the person I spoke to said he could see problems with others in my area so it could be my internet provider, I'm hoping it will be fixed sooner.
