Golden, you would be welcome here in Vancouver but it's so bloody expensive that you may need to win the lottery first. Just saying.....The winters are mild though, usually.

But if you are a prairie gal you would probably hate it here. Just saying......again. :)

Gershun - I am originally from Ontario which has mild (compared to here) but snowy winters. I like the sun in the Prairies but prefer a little less cold than here. The humidity where you are is great.

Yes Golden it's good that way here. The weather problems here lately have been bizarre but climate change is hitting a lot of places now.

Definitely worth a whine - minus 37C (-35F) today. Supposed to warm up to the minus high to mid 20s the next few days.

I always liked Betty White. She reminded me of my mom in some ways. She was a real advocate for animals which is one thing that I really loved about her.

R.I.P Betty White. Thx for all the laughs you gave us all throughout your 99 years.

Mr. Winter has decided we should try to compete with our Canadian friend and neighbors. It has been COLD for two days. Yesterday was single, but positive digits.😨😨

Today -2 with chill factor -25. Another day of hall.walking I think. Maybe work on cleaning out closets. Get rid of things that I haven't worn for 10+ years.

glad - I hear you!!! We are still in the grip of a very cold spell -though today is better at minus 21C (-6F) feels like -26 (-15F) as the wind has died down a bit. I think I'll brave the elements and go out and get the mail. The cessation of mail delivery to the house hasn't impressed me.

Purging closets always feels good! I keep a laundry basket in a spare bedroom and put stuff in it on an ongoing basis. If I buy something new I try to get rid of the same amount of old stuff. Doesn't always work but I gather old/unused clothing regularly.

I think I'm still wearing some stuff I bought in the 80's, the oversized baggy style items are perfect for the new larger me.

-17 air temp here in the burbs of Mpls this morning. BUT the sun is out and the snow is sparkly pretty. My hubs (a MN native) says the cold "keeps out the riff-raff" (and the cockroaches) ;-)

991 homes lost in the fire. Yesterday a young family had their GMC Yukon stolen. The only vehicle they still had. It was loaded with what remains of their lives including photos of deceased relatives. It just makes me.ill.

The front range of Colorado has become a crime hub, is.so.expensive to live there. And the authorities really don't even try to locate stolen cars or who took them.. They would need an entirely new separate department just to handle the vehicles. It is not uncommon to Have more than 900 stolen cars in a month.

Actually worse than I knew.

Sickening it did not used to be like this.

Wind chill advisory. Down to -25 tonight. Guess I will be hall walking awhile longer. Last time I was able to walk.outside was a week ago, tomorrow, the day the fire started. They are finally saying the fire is 100% contained.

When I checked the Environment Canada alerts page this morning it seemed like the entire country was under some kind of weather warning - cold and snow in BC, extreme cold in the North, all across the Prairies and northern Ontario, wind and snow expected in my part of Ontario, and a wintery mix for the Maritimes. The only ones who might want to venture out today are Quebeckers, and they are under a curfew.

I am planning on sun bathing tomorrow. We will be 75° and that is perfect for reading out by the pool for a couple hours.

Yay! Get to thaw out:-)

This really is too much!!! Minus 39C (-36F) feels like minus 51C (-45F). Big time cold weather. Supposed to be better next week.

I'll vicariously enjoy your weather ITRR though I can't stay in the sun for long.

Wow, Golden. There was a single time, that I can remember, that Chicago registered temps that low and everything shut down for a day or two. I broke the hydraulic arms on my hatchback trying to open it that day, because the air was so cold. Stay safe and warm.

My whine today is about the paranoia that comes with having the most minor cold symptoms lately. I have sinus symptoms every year all through winter, and yesterday I had some mild sinus pressure, a baby sinus infection. I flushed, took decongestant, and it's better today. But, since omicron is everywhere in my area with record cases every day, I spent the day thinking about what to do and how to get a test.

I have the same thing I have every year at this time -- I'm certain of that and it's very minor. I'll be buying some test kits when I can, though, because I'm sure I'll be concerned again with my next sniffle. I read omicron will peak soon in my area, so that's good.
