I'm tired of cooking/preparing 3 meals a day. It's just the two of us but boy oh boy can that woman eat!! She stays slimish, I get fattish. It's bad enough I do everything here much less start making her one thing and me the other. At times I feel guilty when I buy her fast food cuz of the nutritional value....not to mention I eat it too.
Seriously, that is NOT fun. Heal quick.
gershun - I don't like soap operas either.
Maybe after I recover from the strange happenings at the radiologist's. Maybe nevergoingbackever!
Every x-ray on my feet has been lying on a table.
Instead, the techs had me standing, climbing up on a home-made 2-step stair that was shoved to the wall. A 6 inch cabinet on the wall took away the standing space...you would have had to be there watching these two techs.
One using very poor body mechanics to move the stairs, not standing all the way behind the booth that protects them from radiation. Balancing the x-ray plate between my legs.
Mostly mad at myself for climbing on that stair, when I protested the tech said "It's okay", and NO, it is not okay. I should have left for my own protection. Maybe I should have asked the tech to climb up on the stair?
I no longer climb onto the second stair on my own safer step-ladder at home.
And surely would never put the step-ladder under a cabinet sticking out from the wall 6". Where was my shoulder supposed to be?
I think I can get over this, but not sure 3 days later.
Send, that radiologist sounds sketchy.
Good word for the radiology techs.
Squirrely fits too.
Not all radiology techs are like that. Everyone I met has been a professional.
I can go to another radiology department. I never had a bad experience there before.
This office has the best, most competent front desk staff!
Maybe it was a bad day for everyone that day. Often, my mind works similar to an OSHA inspector, so I have to set aside taking responsibility for others' incompetence, let it go this time. Take care of myself.
My Mom had strong bones up into her late 90's, and her grocery list would show why: cheese, milk, ice cream, yogurt, cottage cheese, cream cheese, and whipped cream. Unfortunately both my Dad and I were lactose intolerant, and Lacaid had limited products at that time. My Mom would say "a little bit won't hurt" not realizing a little bit can cause what my Dad would call "the trots" [run to the bathroom].
Llama, I also pass on the Fosamax. What I use are 2 Tums each day. Figure it is better than nothing.
Isn't there a big lawsuit against that company now? I'm surprised if they are still prescribing to people.
I am surprised about the side effects of a lot of the newer drugs for arthritis, osteoporosis, and other conditions. Still people take them, still doctors prescribe them.
Still, the FDA takes them off the market, still, the FDA puts them back on the market.
I am also surprised about what so many drugs do to leach your necessary vitamins and minerals from your system, or do to prevent absorption of your other supplements. These drugs are called "Drug Muggers".
Become informed.
It takes a sleuth to discern what will help or hurt you coming from your doctor.
Be sure to deduct the Calcium mg. in the Tums from your needed dietary intake of Calcium needs.
You could get heart palpitations from an imbalance of Calcium.
Finally, all the large trucks, etc turned off my route except the duely. Nearing one of turns I really wanted to.pass him as I did not want to follow him for the last 30 or so miles to the interstate.
Just as I was getting ready to pass him, he drastically slowed and one of the ramps blew into the air, maybe caused by wind, came down, hitting the asphalt, leaving skid marks. It was a very strange sight. I was not too close thank goodness. He pulled off partially into a roadside ditch, and on I went, passing him.
There is usually very little traffic on that route. Getting home took about twenty minutes longer than usual.
I need so many surgeries I put off because I was caring for Mother but now that Mother is gone and I've gotten the tests, procedures, xrays,MRI's ,etc.,every doctor Iv'e seen has told me that my bones are too soft and fragile for any surgeries.
My last appointment was to see about putting in a spinal stimulator for the pain but again, the doctor said he couldn't do it because my bones are too fragile so there's nothing that can be done and I just have to live with the pain.
I wish I would have drank my milk~
Aw lu, I'm sorry you hurt. Did your doctors not prescribe you something to improve your bone density? I only started taking calcium (with magnesium and Vit D) a few years ago and I think it has made a difference, Glucosamine chondroitin helps joints too. Careful ((((((((hugs)))))) lu. 🤗🤗🤗
I'm hurting a bit today too but only because I did too much on Tuesday. I had a dumpster for the day and sil and dgs filled it and the garage is almost empty and the back garden looks tidier. Of course I had to join in too and I am feeling it now. But this will pass in a few days hopefully.
We both tested ourselves earlier on twice for covid, both clear. Even the doctor tested us [in the parking lot] and that was clear. We got prescribed cough medicine which is now in pill form. It didn't help me at all. We tried Musulix [sp] and it caused me mild A-fib. Over the counter Ricola cough drops did help me but made my food taste funny.
We are doing better after 3-4 weeks, but it will take time at our age. So many naps. Lot of watching "Perry Mason" .
Duh, I wish I could remember the formula.
Anywho, hope you both start to feel better soon.
FF, Feel better soon. Summer colds are the worst. My dad used to give me a tablespoon of whiskey with a little sugar in it for a cough and cold.
FF: Becky's tip of the whiskey may help? Feel better.
We showed up to Gil handing my honey a hot drink. Said, "I know you don't drink but, you are going to drink this". Okaaaay!
Next morning, hubby says he hasn't slept so well in a week, no coughing he could remember all night and ALL of the congestion was gone.
Of course, we have to find out what he was given. It was hot whiskey, raw honey and fresh lemon.
We now make this if we feel a cold coming on and it kicks it to the curb. I add raw grated ginger and water, because whiskey makes me gag and the ginger stops that reflex for me and of course, it has it's own nutritional benefits.
Drinking it as hot and fast as possible seems to be more effective for us.
Hope you both feel better soon.
I am .exhausted time to nap.😨😨
