I'm tired of cooking/preparing 3 meals a day. It's just the two of us but boy oh boy can that woman eat!! She stays slimish, I get fattish. It's bad enough I do everything here much less start making her one thing and me the other. At times I feel guilty when I buy her fast food cuz of the nutritional value....not to mention I eat it too.
Welcome to you.
So happy that your biopsy is negative!
Kids…is that why I have gray hair? 😃
barb - that is great news about your biopsy. Not so great news about your dd but you are doing the right thing by distancing and keeping up your relationship with your grand. BTDT. I know it is hard but sometimes it is necessary. (((((hugs)))))
My middle daughter has taken leave of her senses in a big way; can't go into details because too involved.
BUT it sucks for me that when I tell my kid that she is skating on thin ice legally and could lose custody of her six year old to the child's father, she accuses me of bullying and threatening her.
I am staying out of this and will just keep up Nonna visits with my grand, but need to distance myself from my adult child for the sake of my mental health. She is going to have to find her own way.
And so darn heavy. I would need a car jack to lift the mattress when making the bed. Finally gave up, no more tucking the top sheet nor the blanket. Of course without the tucking, the top sheet/blanket tend to travel to one side touching the floor.
The price of groceries is bad. it was always about 15% higher here that further south anyway. I wish I could count on a regular good shopper for online grocery shopping. I am sure I have had several dozen in the time I have used the service. A few are really good, Some are not. I get delivery too. I am getting softer around the middle due to not lugging bags of groceries. It actually was good exercise.
Now I have a Speed Queen commercial model with the old fashioned thingee in the middle. Ok, I can't stuff a large oversize quilt into the machine, so I now use light-weight bedspreads. The machine is so quiet. Never off balance. So easy to use, two easy to read simple dials, and one on/off button.
I signed up for on-line grocery shopping with curb-side pickup. Love it !!! No more trying to reach for what I need on the top shelf and getting "top shelf vertigo", nor squatting down to get something off the bottom shelf and attempting to stand up without falling backwards. The same employee does the grocery picking for me as I use the same day and time for pick-up, kinda like have a grand-daughter doing the grocery shopping for you :)
I unplugged it to reset it, we will see. This is a top load machine. I hate front load machines, they do not drain completely (start to stink) and stooping down to load and transfer to washer is too hard on my back!
Me: Watcha doing?
Mom: (licks her finger and presses it to the floor)
Me: Mom, what're doing?
Mom: (shuffles an inch or two, then licks her finger again and presses it to the floor).
Me: Mom?
Mom: Would you let me finish?
Me: Finish what?
Mom: Mopping up the floor.
Me: 😶
He started his meds, has an immediate response.
Rewarded with a Smart Watch that monitors even his b/p, sends alerts.
Relieved.
Dr. Internet and I are tracking his symptoms-all seem to point to his thyroid.
We got some Heritage eggs, light blue/green, with a deep yellow yolk. Mixed in a dozen of dark brown eggs.
Jimmy Fallon is doing jokes on The Tonight Show about the price of eggs. LOL 😆
Lots of people out here buying chickens to produce their own eggs.
CW, I absolutely detest crowded shopping experiences! When I go i.leave by 8am at the latest to avoid crowds. The drawback? Sometimes the shelves are not completely stocked yet.
it sends my weight to the office
Prices are also high everywhere because minimum wage went up. And that causes the domino affect as every step up the company had to increase those wages. Who pays for this, the consumer with higher prices for goods and services.
I had to work 20 years to reach the minimum wage that young people are now getting today. But I am sure my Dad said the same about my beginning salary back in the 1960's :)
