yoda - wearing masks more often than before will help allergies and reduce other respiratory illnesses than covid - like flu. It may be a benefit from the pandemic.

cw - I agree. It is by no means harmless.

glad - it's the snow here. Enough already!

Oh cm. I am sorry you got it again. ((((hugs))))

You're right, CW.

Endemic = Tough. You're stuck with it.

I tested positive for the second time nearly two weeks ago and was far from amused. 3/6 of my clients the week before were Covid + and you cannot stay six feet away from someone who can't put her socks on so we are sitting ducks.

I suppose I should be happy to report that this time I have only been left with technicolor sinusitis and the feeling that I got run over.

The wind just will not stop! I am sick of it!

The health department has issued an advisory because of dust in the air! OMG, you would not believe it!

People seem to be equating endemic with harmless but that isn't what it means, malaria is endemic to many places in the world but it certainly isn't a harmless illness.

golden,

The one thing that I've been surprised by and grateful for is wearing a mask has improved my fight against allergies which normally put me on my nebulizer plus at the doctors for either bronchitis or pneumonia.

So sorry , Barb. Hope the rest of you don't get it.

glad - covid is alive and well and still spreading around the world. There is no reason for it not to. Vaccinations help the individual, generally speaking, and may slow the spread, but there are lots of hosts yet for the virus to replicate in freely and lots of behaviours that make it easy for it to find new hosts.

Considering it endemic rather than pandemic may ease the minds of some, but if you don't want to get it, you still need to take protective measures.

Right now my city is doing very well, but next week - who knows?

Forecast was flurries - reality a full blown snow storm. Large fluffy flakes have been coming down for hours. ❄❄❄
Snow is over half way up my tires. I foolishly left the car out of the garage.
The back yard was showing mostly green and is white again.
Oh well. It will melt by next weekend.

Ahhh, Barb! Covid is not gone. On the news this morning I saw how Singapore is locked down, stay at home order. They went on to say that the U.S. Is normally 4-6 weeks later. I certainly hope that is not the case.

Talked with a man this morning that was vaxed and boosted and got terribly ill. I am a bit confused on the conversation because there is part of me that wants to say that he thought the booster caused he illness. He went septic, spent weeks in the hospital then home on bedrest.

He may have made it all up. He was to.do a job for me that was to be complete last December and I had emailed him a couple of times with no response.

Sorry to hear, Barb. Does GS have symptoms? Hope he's over it fast and no one else comes down with it. Did he pick it up at school, you think? Fingers crossed that your PCRs come back negative, too.

Glad, I'm sick of the wind here, too. But "windy city" and all. I suppose I need to live somewhere else if I can't deal with the harsh and constantly changing weather here. :)

Thanks to all who responded. Made 2 trips to pharmacy to drop off and pick up the antibiotic. That physician was less than effective as he could have easily given me the med yesterday.
You're so right, Polar Bear.

Update on my sinus issue: I have canceled my periodontal appointment as of today. Today DH took me to Patient First, an urgent facility. After waiting quite a while, the physician comes in. He said that standard protocol (as expected) was to receive a Covid test as well as flu A. I stated to him that I have a sinus infection, have had them before and am here to get an antibiotic (common practice is to fill RXs at the facility). He never examines me BEFORE exclaiming "You have a viral infection." I advocated for myself, finally he examines me after I asked him to and he reluctantly gives me a script for an antibiotic - with the instruction to wait a few days before getting it filled. (Yeah, right!) After coming home and putting a compression head wrap on that did nothing to relieve the pain, DH found a kind of ice pack that I will be putting on after eating dinner.

Golden: Thank you. Sinus infections certainly are nasty. Just my luck that I started with this with the periodontal appointment coming up. I will no doubt have to reschedule. I also could not sleep. DH had zero sleep as well. Thanks again.

Glad: Yes, thank you. I will no doubt have to reschedule as it would be impossible to have gum work done with a sinus infection. Thanks again.

Llama, because of lingering Covid restrictions call periodontist Monday to see if they still want you to come in. My dentist is very cautious and would reschedule.

ITRR - I think errors are far more common than they used to be. I agree with it being mind boggling. One really has to be aware and question the anomalies. My experience as an instructor reading many writings, of one sort or another, looking for errors probably helps. Also I have been told I must come from Missouri - I need to find things out for myself. Stubborn as a mule too. lol

Llama - sinus infections are nasty and don't combine well with periodontal treatment. I will get insomnia before coming down with something. Hope you feel better soon.
