Hello!

It’s on my mind:
A few days ago, I made a terrible mistake (mistake with medicine). I misunderstood the doctor.

I understood, don’t give the antibiotics.

Today I discovered, the doctor actually said: give the antibiotics.

Today suddenly, my LO has a big infection. Hospital. Not sepsis, but on the way to sepsis. Now IV antibiotics, trouble breathing. Doctor hopes only 7 days hospital.

My LO was in great health, full of energy.

I made a mistake.

I really hope my LO recuperates.

Your LO is in the hospital now and recieving treatment. It is very likely he will recover. Unfortunately you are not the first person to make this type of horrible mistake. My friend, a young first rate working RN, gave her 2 year old the wrong medicine (the 10 year old's mix) and poisoned him. He was very sick for a couple of weeks but he survived with no lasting effects. The mother's greatest challenge was forgiving herself for making a mistake between two identical bottles. A human mistake; just like mishearing a verbal direction.

I pray for your LO's recovery and for you to be able to forgive yourself soon.

Poodle - (((((((hugs))))) and prayers. I don't think there is a caregiver anywhere who cant recall something they wish they had or hadn't done. We are only human. Know you are not alone.

Thanks a lot!!!

Terrible mistake.

Hard to explain, but I’m not at fault. The dialogue between the doctor and I was more complicated than I described. I summarized to keep it short.

There was a big misunderstanding between the doctor and I.

I understood, that under “the following circumstances”, never use antibiotics.

That was right.

But there was an additional — unsaid — statement, which I could not have guessed:

Never use antibiotics “under the following circumstances”, EXCEPT…

Big misunderstanding.

Terrible…

Thanks a lot for your prayers and kind words!! Really!!

(My LO is now in hospital. Very weak).

My LO was extremely healthy just a few days ago.

Big hugs back to you all + thank you!! I’ll let you know.

I’m just sending more hugs and thanks for your very kind messages.

Looks like my LO “heard”
your messages, because already, hours later, things are looking much better.

I’ll let you know.
Thank you!!

I topped up the car today at $1.85.9/L - ouch. I'm lucky I can get by without driving very much, I feel for those who can't easily reduce their gas usage.

1 litre is equal to 0.2641722 gallons, which is the conversion factor from liters to gallons.

Here in So.Cal, U.S.A., gas is selling at over $5.00+ a gallon this week.

Resident somewhere down the hall spent half the day screaming. They finally moved her to another area. Someone said she was in a double room. I can't imagine how her roommate coped. I was ready to lose it and she wasn't that close to me.

Becky: Glad that they moved the screamer. A year ago when I was hospitalized with pneumonia there was also a lady screaming.

dear poodle,

i'm very, very happy to hear your LO fully recovered.

-------
dear everyone,

i wish us all luck.
we love our LOs so much. and sometimes, 1 thing can go wrong, which slides into a multitude of health problems.

be careful of your own health too.
i clearly see the effects of stress, during the rollercoaster of emergency/calm/emergency/calm...

it shows clearly on my own body/face: up/down the terrible rollercoaster.

let's be super careful of our own health.
sometimes, it's not until our own health hits rock-bottom, that we really pay attention. let's not let it get to that.

i adore my parents.
i tell them all the time.

i tell them little jokes every day.
i used to prepare, daily, little fun facts. we all learned a lot, after 365 days of interesting facts.
something nice every day, to make them smile and laugh.

------
just like our elderly LOs are, in their way, doing their absolute best.
so must we, do our absolute best, to be maxi healthy.

by healthy i mean:
the whole range of happiness.
our body/heart/soul/desires/wishes.

we can't save everything.
:( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

-------
i wish us lots of strength, lots of luck.

bundle of joy :)

Weather changes... today is a bright sunny day with temps in the upper 60s... by the time the sun comes up tomorrow there's supposed to be 4" of snow on the ground... and Sunday is to bring an overnight low of 14... typical March weather!

TNTechie. I'm in Illinois, about the same weather going on here. The snow has started. I'm getting along a little better than expected, so I'll be going to Assisted Living sooner. Wish I could figure out going back to my own home. I'm not a big fan of living in the midwest. Go next week for x-rays and maybe a smaller cast. I push myself as much as I can in physical therapy.

I have already changed my clocks so I am operating on new time, I think it's easier to gain or lose time in the middle of the afternoon.

The city is going to finally start enforcing noisy muffler laws here! It is about time! A neighbor across the street has two cars with very obnoxious mufflers, wakes me often in the early morning hours. Just in time for me to move.

Pepe La Pew just traveled thru my yard, closing windows now. We put out fresh orange peels to discourage skunks because they don't like the smell of oranges.

Hubs is changing our clocks now, one hour forward.
Good suggestion Cwillie!

Now, I am confused, but expect to acclimate to this new time, gaining back the hour I lost last Fall.

It is 7:00 p.m. people, whatever that means to you, wherever you are, on this Saturday night.

Are we having some nice tea before bed? Or, something else?
