Replacing the much lamented 'On My Mind' profile option, this thread is for musings, jottings, whimsies, preoccupations and the rest of the thesaurus for anyone to jot down anything they please.
I can't remember what the maximum character count was before, can anyone else? But anyway it wasn't very many so let's keep to that.
She sounds great, but after 13 months of AL and memory care she is still wanting to go home!
I know it's not abnormal when dealing with Alzheimer's, but it still breaks my heart!!
In the beginning I tried to deflect. Then I began reminding her that her house was sold. Now I'm back to deflecting (Thank You Covid)!
It's exhausting!!
I adore her!!! And I pray that I am doing the very best for her, but it's a double edged sword!!
You're amazing!!
(((Hugs)))
I haven’t met him. He’s in Denver but my daughter sent pictures to my phone. He is absolutely beautiful!
My daughter is thrilled to have a fur baby.
She is in an apartment. It’s dog friendly. When her lease is up she’s going to move to another building that is very dog friendly.
The new building that she is looking at has a floor that has a dog ‘wash’ room with bathtubs to wash the dogs in! Hahaha
For a moment I misread NHWM's post and thought "gosh, how's a husky going to like New Orleans??? - he'll need to get his hair cut!"
She sent a video of him playing in the snow. I wish that I could go visit.
Not the right time, my husband is doing his radiation treatments for his prostate cancer.
Even if hubby didn’t have cancer, we don’t want to travel during Covid, so I suppose it’s going to be awhile before we meet him.
Husky’s have the most beautiful eyes!
She is very active. She’s in a very walkable neighborhood and there are dog parks nearby too.
Her old dog was a poodle! He was spoiled rotten. She loves dogs and was really sad when he died. He had Cushing’s disease.
She is thrilled to have a dog again. She’s working remotely with her company. Denver is going through a surge in COVID cases.
I am enjoying the pictures she is sending to me.
I was just wondering the same thing as you posted your comment. I would imagine with this being her first holiday season without her mom it's probably especially hard on her and their family.
I was just thinking of her this past weekend. 🤔
They are planning to introduce a COVID vaccine.
Every now and then I think about an incident that happened many years ago at Tulane’s primate center on the north shore, (Covington, Louisiana) some of their monkeys escaped and ended up in people’s backyards!
I knew that they were working on a vaccine. Tulane wants at least 60 to 70 percent of people to be vaccinated here.
Her mom was a terrible hoarder. I am sure that is an awful mess to clean up afterwards.
She said that her mom had a reverse mortgage on the home so I suppose the mortgage company now owns the home.
Her mom had gambled her savings away at casinos. So sad.
I appreciate that. Prayers are always welcome!
His oncologist says so far, so good. Radiation treatments should be completed near the end of January. He still has hormone injections and another MRI.
We are both very grateful that even though the oncologist described his cancer as ‘aggressive,’ the cancer is contained so it is treatable with radiation.
If you have Netflix, please give this a try.
Wishing you and your dad the very best outcome with his chemo.
You are very fortunate to be able to accompany him. That’s fantastic!
