Pam
Such exciting news.
Just the memory of the scent of a newborn little head eases all tension. What a treasure. 🥰

Well I am a MIMI!! DDs water broke the night I posted, and BB was born yesterday morning at 651.. a few hiccups along the way but all good now! 30 plus hours of labor and 4 hours of pushing. He is adorable, and hopefully they get to come home tonight once he gets his circumcision and waits his 2 hours. ( and poops! ) They are looking forward to their own bed! i was a zombie when I got home,, took a way to short 2 hour nap and a bath then back in. They all looked better today! And a real nights sleep helped me too! His name is Brady, and he has a full head of black hair. Like his Mama and Dad

Thankfully all the nasty weather went around us here, I wouldn't mind a little bit of rain though.

Forgive me, Pam. I see now that you said when she was going to be induced.

It’s getting close! I am sure she is ready for this baby to be born.

They had scheduled her to be induced next Thursday as she is high risk and on blood thinners. Thank you for your kind words!

When is she due?

You’re going to be a wonderful grandmother!

Well we found out Tues that DD is having actual small contractions, not Braxton Hicks as assumed. So BB may not stay in there until his planned induction Thursday. We were told he likely will, but DD is nervous, and called the midwife to give them a heads up that they have been on and off all day, but still not painful. So my "go bag" is packed, clothes to wear set out,, hopefully we'll both sleep tonight and things will go as planned. I am going to go as crazy as DD if this becomes a daily "maybe". She wants me there for the delivery so that is why I packed a bag,, gotta have a toothbrush and my meds, right? She and partner are both worried he'll pass out LOL

The humidity scale here goes up to 99%. At 100%, the moisture comes out of solution and we get very light drizzle. However we have a nice chart (put out by a Trade Union) that says when the combination of high humidity and high temperature will be dangerous (you’ll drop dead if they make you work), and it seems about as imaginative as some other scales.

I think the snowbirds have the right idea, migrate with the weather. Now all I need to do is find somebody who will let me hitch a ride.

Need,

You are Goldilocks . You want it just right !

The closest to perfect weather I’ve experienced is Hawaii . But they get some hot days and storms too . Go in April or May after the winter rains .

Aruba was nice too , they don’t get rain much . It’s a desert island not a tropical island actually . But don’t go in summer, too hot . It gets windy too .

I hate the bitter cold. I can’t even imagine living with long winters and snow.

Yet, I hate dry heat like Arizona and Nevada has.

Louisiana is a freaking swamp with horrible humidity! Our area has it’s fair share of rainfall too.

Every area has its pros and cons, I suppose. There is no utopia.

I would love to live in an area that has beautiful fall colors. I enjoy going to New England in the fall. It’s gorgeous, but I wouldn’t deal well with their long winter season.

I want spring and fall weather all year round! 😝

Relative humidity can be confusing because it is a ratio based on air temperature, I mean logically 100% humidity should be water but of course it's not.

Nacy,

Our humidity is awful.

I swear, every time I visit California or Colorado, I say that I don’t want to come back to living in Louisiana.

Louisiana is a swamp. Very hot and very humid!

My daughter wants to eventually move back to Denver.

She was living in Colorado for a few years after graduating college. She loved it! She is struggling with being back in our humidity.

Who knows where she will end up? Her boyfriend is living in Austin now. They fly back and forth to see each other.
