Hallah, miracle whip is sweet enough to replace jam:-)

My Dad used to make sandwiches with peanutbutter, mayo, and some little ,cut up apples and even though it sounded gross, all us kids came to love it.

ITRR, I like using Miracle Whip with the PB on my sandwiches. I grew up calling it mayo when it was actually Miracle Whip. I have used mayonnaise with pb and lettuce but it’s a little too mild for me.

Barb, what kind of pickles?

Has anyone on here ever heard of Pachace? If I’m correct, it’s a type of Polish pizza? I had some many years ago and liked it but never had it since.n

Does anyone here eat PB and pickle sandwiches?

I had never heard of that combo until I started reading Kinsey Milhone mysteries by Sue Grafton. But came across them again a month ago in a Louise Erdrich novel.

I think I am making Salad Nicoise with some frozen tuna tonight.

Hallah, I was thinking that the combination might actually work. Fresh crisp lettuce with chunky PB and a bit of Mayo to brighten it all up. Think I will be trying one and let you know how it goes.

I was raised that you put butter on a PB&J sandwich. I don't do it very often now but, I still love the flavor it creates.

Some of the most unlikely combinations make for the best flavor and texture.

I love BLT'S with fresh off the vine tomatoes. I use Smart Bacon a plant based alternative. I could eat these all summer. I had a craving recently and can't find it in most stores. I guess it is popular in the summmer months.

Yes! PB, Mayo and lettuce sandwich! Delicious! I’ve eaten them since right after the ice age. Try one. You just might like it.

Testing 1, 2, 3
Before dinner I brushed my teeth and gargled with Listerine to decrease my
Covid load. Then, I washed my hands for 20 seconds while singing the happy birthday song. My dH social-distanced himself from the kitchen so he did not have to help. I took my dinner into the bedroom to eat, and removed my mask.

Just like everybody else, we had spaghetti tonight. 🍝

Sunday dinners here are whatever. My wife had the last of the spaghetti (spaghetti three days in a row and she was happy as a clam.)

I made myself a peanut butter, mayo and lettuce sandwich along with a cup of coffee.

I ate at church this evening. We had spaghetti and meatballs, tossed salad and cheesecake with fresh blackberries. Blackberries are abundant this year. I have two big bowls from along the fence in my backyard. Going to make jam in the crockpot tomorrow.

Anche, thank you for the recipe. The sauce sounds so good! Even I can make that sauce. I can follow recipes but I’m not good at coming up with different ideas as my wife did.

Now I have three ways to try: two recipes and one jar of Rao. Which do I try first? Hmmm…….

Here a very basic Italian ragù recipe
1 stick of celery
1 carot
1 onion
4 spoons of olive oil
500 g minced meat (my mom always asked for pork+beef, so I always do the same, otherwise just beef would do)
500 gr tomato sauce, I mean tomato puree, the one you get in glass bottles, just tomatoes. What we call "passata di pomodoro"
salt and pepper as you like

(My mother didn't use to do it, but I add a glass of red wine)

Chop the celery stick, carot and onion.
Put the oil in the crock pot (if you wish you can quickly put the oil in a pan and fry - that is not really frying, I do not know how to say that in English, we say soffriggere in Italian and then put them in the crock pot).
Grease the crock pot, and after putting inside the "soffritto" (carot+celery+onion) add the "passata", salt and pepper according to your taste.
Set the crock pot on low for 7 hours. Then check if you want to add salt and if it is well cooked. You may need an extra hour.

Speaking of pasta sauce, does anyone have a good crock pot recipe for a nice, easy to make, spaghetti sauce you would share with me? I’d be willing to try my hand at that.
