Sorry to say, but this site has been so depressing for a few days. I thought I'd ask an average, everyday question....to make us all feel a little more normal today.
I made Eggplant Lasagna, and my BIL and SIL are coming for dinner. They leave for Cali tomorrow to see their beautiful grand daughter.
Sorry, sometimes we just need some REGULAR conversation.......or at least THIS caregiver does.
You are so right too much sugar that is when I change the recipe a bit. I do use sweet butter and never oil. The sweetness of pineapple in itself would be sweet enough for me but I would omit the sugar and use a little honey or stevia. Trial and error is what I do. I do want to make them soon. I would love to try your recipe if it is not too much trouble.
Polar and cwillie,
I just looked up a recipe morning glory muffins from Amy's Healthy Baking. Lots of healthy ingredients, egg whites, very small amount of butter, whole wheat flour, and other ingredients that I love. You can change the recipe to fit your taste.
This is one muffin I have not made but when I do I will use pure unsalted butter in place of oil. I make all my muffins with butter and the muffins are so delicious.Morning glory has most my favorite ingredients in them. Pineapple, apples, raisins carrots, nuts, coconut to name a few. The muffins are dense but a feel good healthy muffin at that. I would look up Taste of Home. I have good luck with the site. I do not use recipes too much but with baking I do and sometimes switch around the recipe a bit.
Fried rice with summer squash and zucchini with a light mixture of spices
Fresh fruit salad. This is what I would like to make. Updater later.
Mom is awake and yelling she wants something to eat, LOL. She had two morning glory muffins and coffee about an hour ago. She has a great appetite. She is a petite little lady and cute as a button.
Chef on Thursday had a better attitude but it might be because I was not there to bug him. I spoke to him on the phone, though. Food looks great and smells so good.
A submarine sandwich, also known as a sub (North American English), hoagie (Mid-Atlantic and Western Pennsylvania English), torpedo, hero (New York City English), Italian (Maine Accent) or grinder (New England and Inland Northern English), is a type of cold or hot sandwich made from a cylindrical bread roll split lengthwise and filled with meats, cheeses, vegetables, and condiments.
Not taking assignments tonight, sorry.
But you are welcome to tell us.....
The Po boy is ours! Tell us the origin of the other names of sandwiches.
Mmmmm good!
I don’t think that I have ever had ‘beaver tail.’ Thanks for the info. We have EE in our bakeries here. They are made with puff pastry and baked. I suppose there are different recipes. Sometimes they are referred to as shoe soles or palmier.
A funnel cake is fried but is not a solid hunk of dough. To make FC the dough is drizzled into the fryer with a funnel to cook. As a result the finished product has air space between the different layers of drizzled dough.
LOL
TOO FUNNY! Geeeeez! I have never heard the term ‘beaver tail!’ Yes, we have that. It is called a ‘funnel cake’ here.
For a minute, I thought this sensible woman on the forum was losing her mind! 🤣 Thanks for the laugh!
Actually, people in the Cajun area of Louisiana would most likely eat beaver! They eat anything and everything! LOL
So, how does beaver taste? How does the price compare to other meat?
Der Weinerschnitzel, at least used to, has a Chicago dog.

middle finger.
Add corn on the cob, a salad and it was a good lunch. No bun though, it would have been all bread, because they did not shrink the size of the buns. Hard to put two dogs on one bun, and to cut them in half would be useless.
Someone messes with tradition-that's not okay. 🌭
The difference between a labradoodle and a teacup chi.
Guess they just like big orders.
But we won't starve, it is just that I wanted hot dogs...everybody else was having them. 🌭
Had Tuna sandwiches earlier.
Sent you a p.m.
Maybe a cheese slice on those dogs?
I think the bun flavors make a huge difference too.
