I love eat veggie pizza! Love veggies with hummus too.

Can’t go wrong with fruit, cheese and wine!

I wasn’t very hungry. I had an avocado 🥑 drizzled with Italian salad dressing.

Dinner was an epic battle;

1st round: 🥕🥕🥕🥒🥒 🍕🍕 Filled up on veg & hommus to leave less room for pizza.
Veggies victorious!

2nd round: 🍒🍒🧀🧀🧀🍷🍷
Tried to fill up on cherries & soda water, but the cheese board & wine were the clear winners.

Today breakfast: black coffee.

EB: Aww - thank you. My dad was just 50 years of age, myself 20 and my brother 16. My mother had 3/4 of a home mortgage loan to pay off on a wage of 88 cents per hour, but she did it. Needless to say, she sought better employment.

Thank you again.♥️

Llama, how sad about your dad. Life can be so hard at times. I am sorry you and your mom had to go through such a traumatic experience.
I love your moms recipes and I think of her when I make them. Thanks for sharing.

EB: Thank you. Pot roast is a really cheap meal that can stretch because the root vegetables aren't expensive. These are meals that my late mother made.
Sadly, the only time that my mother and I EVER dined out at a restaurant (Friendly's) was on Good Friday, March 24, 1967, the evening that my father suffered a massive coronary event, which ended life. (We did not know that he was ill and he did not either).

When you have leftovers you make soup of course! This one includes turkey and broth from the bones, alphabet noodles and barley, celery, carrots, broccoli, mushrooms, a potato and all of the roast veggies that were not eaten yet, seasoned with curry pwd and basil. Oh yeah, a few tomatoes and a can of mixed beans too. I've got plenty to enjoy as well as some to freeze for another day.

NeedHelpWthMom, My mom used to use Oil of Olay and only warm water on her skin. She has a better complexion than most younger people. Her skin is soft and smooth add that to her big blue eyes and her radiant smile. She is still very beautiful at 98. My niece and I can be dressed to the max when we were out and about before Covid and we were invisible when mom was present .She loved to walk all her life. Walked to church every day even in a snow storm when she was a kid. I used Noxzema when I was a teenager after I finished collage I bought expensive products from the salon, and you know I did not see any difference. I started using Noxzema a few years ago and love the smell. It takes me back to those younger days. Hope you and your family had a nice Christmas and your husband is doing well.

My turkey from christmas day was a little blah so tonight it's all back in the oven (minus the bones) with some added broth and spices, the leftover roasted veggies will round out the meal. I never did get around to making my cranberries, I guess I should freeze them to use another day.

Whatever my husband can fix for himself. After years and years of cooking (something I've never enjoyed), I do as little as possible.

I have a little sign with a little chick on it that says, "Kitchen close, this chick is tired of cooking."

Hubs made cornish game hens for dinner, we never cooked them before, and they were pretty good. Wow there is more meat on one of those little things than you would think! We all had a half, and none of us finished it,, I was picking the meat off at the table ( LOL) and the puppers loved it,, and for some reason they both loved the lima beans! DDs elderly chihuahua wont eat well for us so we were all happy she scarfed down bird, beans and a spoonfull of potatoes, maybe a 1/4 cup total food. Should hold her until DD picks her back up tomorrow. DD spent the night last night, and mom had a bad night, short of breath, swearing she was not going back to the hospital. Much better today, but we were all up all night listening for her... ( not nearly as bad as the CHF flair that landed her in the hospital last month,, maybe due to her smoking?) I have to work this weekend, so I am praying she sleeps better tonight, and we all do!
