Hi Beatty, no I haven't seen that movie. I must check it out. I will put it on my list of movies to watch. Thank you!

Earlybird, ever seen The Philadelphia Story? Not Tom Hanks but 1940s romcom with Katherine Hepburn & Cary Grant. A favourite of mine.

And thank you for the healing wishes.

Ever wake up and know that you need to pray for someone at that moment, and their name is on your heart?

Hey, Llama, 🦙️
Glad your surgery went well.

Send,

I too get up around 3 or 4am. My Bible study teacher says, "that God will sometimes wake us up giving us some time to talk & spend time with Him;" therefore, I use this time to talk to Him about my worries, fears, blessing His name, and to tell Him all that I am thankful for and every now and than He will put something in my spirit. I love the idea that He wakes me up just so we can spend some time together without any distraction. I always feel special in that moment. 🥰🙏🙌

Llama, so pleased your surgery was successful.

My eyes are certainly dimmer these days - or maybe that is my brain...

Glad you are ok (((hugs)))

EB: The right eye cataract surgery appears to have been successful, but it is a process of putting three different drops in my eye for a while as well as appointments with my opthamologist. Thank you!

*cheesy toast*
Toasted bread. Butter. Sprinkle paprika (son's invention). Slice of cheese. Then under griller until bubbling.

Processed cheese slices actually works best for cheesy toast.

Now a *toastie* with two slices of bread in the sandwich maker can have any sort of proper cheese: tasty cheese, brie, edam, jarlsberg - I love nearly any speciality type (except red leicester).

Oh dang. It's diet day 4 & now I am craving pasta with 4 cheeses!

Enjoying the wonderful fragrance of apples, cinnamon, cardamom and lemon-lime simmering on the stove. I much prefer to make my own apple sauce - chunky with skins on.

Sendhelp, I am sometimes up at 3am, it does get lonely at times but I also enjoy the quiet time I have. I sometimes make breakfast and ask the family to join me, I don't wake my sleeping beauty mother, though.

Beatty, how do you make your cheese toast?

Well the cake is gone in less than 24hours. Had two pieces for breakfast, brother got up had his piece and niece jumped out of bed thinking we would eat her piece but got up in time. Saved the last piece for my mom. I kept the cake on the kitchen counter overnight and frosting was so creamy. Cake is amazing and so good.

eb - if it burns, you are cooking it for too long. I use 1/4 c popping corn. prob a tsp or so of oil, and a dash of salt in a paper bag and put it in the microwave for 1 min 50 sec. They say if there are no "pops" for 3 seconds its done. I find it is better to take it out a little early if anything. I have skinny pop for a back up too. Good stuff. Your mum sounded so happy.

Llama hope your eye heals well. I had mine done a few years ago. Your cake sounds wonderful, but doesn't work with my allergies :(. I have put a ground up orange, peel and all into a choc cake batter to keep it moist, and lots of spices including pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and a little cayenne. It worked!

EB: You made my night! Typing with surgery eye covered but had to let you know I was so happy that you all loved the cake, especially your mother. Your mom singing is very special. I would shed happy tears, but would not work too well with one good eye.😁

Golden, the cod, cheesecake and popcorn sounds so good. My popcorn usually burns in the microwave so I buy Skinny popcorn.

Cod in marinara sauce and brussels sprouts. I love brussels sprouts.
I had some dessert at lunch - a small wedge of lime cheese cake (daily free, gluten free). Later I will have a big bowl of popcorn. Been popping my own in a paper bag in the microwave. It works well. I add a little oil and a dash of salt but not much of either.

Three pieces of cake left this evening. We were all going to finish it but decided to have it for breakfast. Yummy.
