Sorry to say, but this site has been so depressing for a few days. I thought I'd ask an average, everyday question....to make us all feel a little more normal today.
I made Eggplant Lasagna, and my BIL and SIL are coming for dinner. They leave for Cali tomorrow to see their beautiful grand daughter.
Sorry, sometimes we just need some REGULAR conversation.......or at least THIS caregiver does.
Thank you for sharing and I will let you know.
What kind of bread bowl do you use?
Here is the base recipe and then I will add my tweaks, but anyone can vary this to taste. At this link you can print the recipe (I preview my print and take out the image so it fits on one page, and then you can write any tweaks on the page and take it to the kitchen)

My tweaks:
I use bread bowls instead of adding rye bread, but I have pumpernickel croutons available to throw in there as well if eating the bread bowl itself isn't enough or if you are using oven proof bowls.
For the corned beef I buy good deli meat and ask that they slice it thick. Then I cut it more into chunks than shredding.
I use more Swiss cheeses than called for because I love cheese, and a tad more sauerkraut.
I use beef broth instead of water and bouillon.
I also add small chunks of parboiled potatoes. About two cups.
If anyone makes it, let me know how you liked it!
Tasted good! Washed down with a red wine spritzer.
I bought a cabbage with lots of outer leaves so I am shredding them and will saute them, maybe add some caraway seeds. celery seeds and garlic. I'll taste my way through it and steam them a little If needed for tenderness. Love cabbage in any form.
Send, that pizza sounds wonderful.
We ate pizza, mushrooms, spinach, and goat cheese.
Going back for seconds.
& No More tv snacks watching the tennis!
Did hubby eat the soup? It’s fun to try new recipes. How many times do we cook the same thing over and over? I have gotten stuck in a rut before.
(no offence to our posters down under but why is the only lamb available in my supermarket shipped frozen from AUS/NZ when there are flocks right in my neighbourhood?)
On my way out the door in a hurry to pick up dH, I grabbed one to taste, it was the best, tender, juicy, hot, just right. So I turned off the toaster oven, needing to keep them warm until I returned.
They were still good upon returning, but less moist, well-done, but I will never have that perfect lamb chop again.....
Even one small one makes a great smoothie to share.
