Icelandic yogurt - skyr - has become a "thing" here in recent years. It's a little too dense for my liking.

Viking yogurt?! Haven't seen it here. But here, is very rural, could be more rural I guess. Everything you could want or need is about an hour away.

When in Europe, 1971, I started eating yogurt, mmmm. But the best was on the family farm in Norway. Kind of a thick yogurt soup with fresh fruit. Think they made the yogurt on the farm with their own cows. One of the pleasant Norway memories.

I like the Viking yogurt too but it is a wee bit expensive

Send,

I am a label reader too. I am amazed at the people who don’t read the labels. You’re absolutely correct, the texture is different with Siggi’s. I love it.

Sometimes I put a container in with fruit for a smoothie. Or if I want to eat it as a treat I will top it with organic granola and fruit.

Love love Siggi's Icelandic yogurt!

The whey is filtered out to make it thicker.
siggi's 0% Plain Yogurt has 3g of sugar, 17g of protein, and just 100 calories whereas Chobani's Plain Greek Yogurt has 4g of sugar, 13g of protein, and 130 calories.

That is some great yogurt. Not a Greek yogurt, (but I thought is was).

Having just read all of the replies I am convinced You All are Celibrity Tv Cheffs with Your own Resteraunt's, and I would gladly accept an invite to
dinner if I did not live on the other Side of the Atlantic Ocean. Since I live alone now my culinary skills have escalated to just Ringing Apache Pizza to place my order, or the good old toasted cheese sandwich at Home
with ham, tomatoe and onion and more cheese please.

cwille,

I love good sushi. You have to go to a place with reliable sushi chefs. It’s delicious! It has to be prepared the correct way. Still, it’s not for everyone. I get that.

Yes, it’s not cheap but no one should eat cheap sushi! The seafood has to be top quality and making sushi 🍣 if done correctly is a work of art!

Sorry but I just don't get why everybody is so nuts about sushi. It's not cheap, and it's not particularly yummy (at least not to me).

Send and cwille,

I love really good bread. I only baked bread once in my life and I gained enormous respect for bakers!

My daughters, oldest one is diabetic and the other just watches what she eats are into lettuce wraps. They hardly ever eat bread.

Bread baking in the oven smells heavenly!

I have been on a sushi kick lately! No bread, sticky rice or I have done sashimi.

It helps if you always get the same sandwich - subway club on whole wheat, no cheese, yes toasted please. Lettuce, tomatoes, onions, green peppers - no, more than that! - sub sauce. Did I forget anything?

Yeah, what kind of bread do you have? Oh, there is a picture, but no label/names of the bread.
Then you choose, and they are out, it will take 20 minutes to bake! No!
Hubs will no longer go inside for a Subway.

If you say, the sandwich on the picture, just outside their front door!
They barely respond, huh?, and do not go out and look at the picture, and do not have a clue what the picture shows.

EEEEEwww!

Staying home to eat!

Send I am laughing here.. I know on the few occasions I go to subway to order, and you say.."I want the meatball sub",, and they start with "what kind of bread, cheese etc".. I just want to yell "I want the one on the commercial!!" That is why I go simple if I can. Fried chicken box, or a sit down place where they just bring the dang meal!

There are some newer 'complicated' menus out there. I get confused trying to tell them how to build a pizza, fix a subway, etc. New to me, new confusion.

Sometimes, blood sugar gets so low, I just want to say "feed me"! When my blood sugar gets low, so does hubs. We cannot even get home to eat if we have stayed out too long. At IN N OUT, our place of refuge and comfort, my hubs has started ordering, he drops the ball halfway thru, and I have to jump in to complete the order. It is a team effort now-a-days.

Now-a-days....who says that? Is it just old people?

Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, vegetables not from my garden, but frozen was ok.
This was after 10:30 p.m., a very late night dinnner!

Gotta run on over to the 'gardening as therapy' thread and ask how to grow vegetable sauce in the garden. Thanks REALLY REAL! Did you grow the italian sausage in the garden too? (joking).

We have a convenience store/gas station in our town that has the best fried chicken around. My nephew's wife often makes all the sides and my nephew picks up the chicken on his way home. Interesting how the small sandwich shop or short cook places have some of the best tasting food!
