Gershun, thanks for asking...
I had a veggie burger, French fries (that were air fried in oven) and Brussels Sprouts. I’m trying to eat healthy. Let’s see how long that lasts, but in all honesty, I’ve been feeling better since I’ve really cut out a lot of “junk”.

Need that is my daughters 4 lb chihuahua, Bella! She spends a lot of time at our house because DD travels a lot. She is about 13 YO now, and a crabby little thing but she loves to snuggle with mom on the couch. My puppers Chloe is a 14 lb 2 YO chug,, mostly pug ,, personality and looks wise. She is a total love bug and a clown.

i think im goin to bed early . that ' resentful hubby ' thread is gettin too wound up to suit me . i dont have a wife so i dont have to listen to all that blasphemous controversy .

reminds me of my late cuz . his wife really was a bit of a nag . as she'd sit on the couch going on ceaselessy about what a jerk he was ( and he was ) , he would be stretching his arms and faking a yawn .

im having the storebought cardboard pizza again . i'll bet no animals or plants were harmed in the production of this thing .

i completely hid out from the work christmas dinner today . i got reprimanded rather rudely at thanksgiving for not eating even tho i sat and had coffee with the group . i sat and recalled a great ozzie osborn tune .
" i dont wanna change the world and i dont want the world to change me " .

freaks !! eat till you bust if you want .
ozzie has another great tune that covers that . its called -- " i dont care " .

i like the guys attitude . everybody is outraged over sht that aint none of their dam business nowadays .

Pam, is that your pooch? He’s cute. I was walking along Magazine St. here a few weeks ago and looking in a few of the shops with my daughter.

One shop had the cutest dog bandannas. I just printed out a template from the internet and I am going to make some for my granddog. He’s my daughter’s toy poodle so I will have to make the small size.

I’m thinking LSU fabric. He has an LSU jersey that she bought him. I bought him a Saints jersey. The ones in the shop were Saints bandannas, and some general ones for year round like plaids and stripes.

But back to dinner... Hubs made ham and bean soup, smells wonderful! I had a dental apt today, and I have a very loose baby tooth that I have been hanging onto for 61 years. broke it loose on a piece of cantaloupe ( dang healthy eating is going to kill me) and its hanging on by a wish and a prayer. So now I just have to hang onto it ( or smile with a missing tooth) until the 30th.. my wonderful dentist squeezed me in before my insurance changes and less is paid on the first. So I am on a soft food diet until then.. he will cook for me, its all good. If the tooth comes out before then, I can get a "flipper", but that will cost me several hundred that is NOT paid by insurance So she advised to smile with my mouth closed and my patients will never know.. LOL ( I work in a Neuro ICU, so while they may not my co workers may know.. LOL) So everyone pray for me that this baby tooth holds on!!

Pam,

You are as bad as we are! LOL.

We are going to be thrown out of the cooking thread! But I agree! My doctor let me do the home test.

Pam,

Wish I could meet some of the people on this thread. You are one of them!

Cap,

I’d love to drink a beer with you! One of your brews!

I wonder what Kirk Douglas eats for dinner! He just turned 103! His wife is 100! Damn, they are doing something right!

Look up his photo. He actually looks great at 103. His son, Michael has always been extremely handsome.

Captain,

It’s true. People are living so long! Kirk Douglas just turned 103! Unbelievable, huh?

I did the home test. Piece of cake! No uncomfortable prep. It’s a simple stool collection and sent in.

Do you know if that is available for you? It’s so easy and avoids the unpleasant prep and test. My doctor says it’s accurate.

thanks needhelp ,
she scheduled the old ' 5 yr ' colonoscopy too . its fine to jokingly complain about but that procedure is a miracle of modern medicine and im blessed to have such great healthcare .

i saw some dammed old people at the va today . ( ww11 ) vets and it made me think that i too could possibly have decades left .

Mashed potatoes (with a carrot thrown in for extra nutrition), pork and onions, and sauerkraut. If I want to benefit from the probiotics I'll have to just warm the sauerkraut rather than cooking it with the pork the way we always used to - live and learn I guess.

Real,

I would eat at your house anytime! You sound like a fabulous cook.

What’s your funniest cooking mishap? When I first married and not a good cook yet, there were a few times that my husband said to me, “Honey, would you like to go out for dinner?”

It was that bad! Hahaha, he couldn’t eat it but was too polite to tell me it was bad.

Once or twice I caught a couple of things on fire too! One time I was on fire! I was a newlywed and you know how we bought the beautiful nightgowns in our youth? I had a matching silky robe to a beautiful gown and it had long bell bottom flowing sleeves that caught on fire as I was making breakfast! Hahaha

Thank God, I was able to put the fire out quickly. My husband walked downstairs and asked me if I burned breakfast? I told him, not exactly, the breakfast was fine and the burned smell was because my robe caught on fire.

I learned never to cook with that kind of sleeve again! I was young and in love and wasn’t thinking about my sleeve dropping into the fire on the stove.

Pam, I call it cottage pie when it is made with beef and shepard's pie when I use lamb. That is the only difference, maybe a few spices.

Yes, comfort food at its finest, love shepard's pie with english cheddar, so rich.

Chicken pot pie in cast iron skillet bread is Pillsbury biscuits. Pretty darn good!

Wal-Mart bakery? Don't get me started. I bought Danish once, from the bakery, never will again. Two days later growing green fuzzy stuff bleach! 😫
