Our Walmart has a bakery, and when we go there we always check the "day old" cart by the milk,, I have gotten some wonderful doughnuts there! And muffins!
What you all call cottage pie we call shepards pie,, I love it! Comfort food at its best!

eh , people ..
i get a kick out of listening to the sob stories of the freedom challenged . they dont seem to realize i can go to the DOC website and get the ' rest of the story ' ..

one poor fellow is in prison over drug residue in the corner of a baggie .

( also 3 different occasions of driving after lifetime suspension , two instances of resisting arrest and a residential burglary )

i like to know what mentality im dealing with out there . i'll know theyre agitated before they know that i know .

dont get me started on that idiot . its gone on too long .

" joey wont eat leftovers " .

that is such a stupid statement i'll probably have it ringing in my ears for as long as i live .

" joey's mother is a retard and thats why joey is so freakin ignorant " would be a more proper statement .

gaaa .
my blood pressure ..

the consumer shouldnt tolerate dumb sht . i buy disposable lighters on ebay for around 20 cents a piece . ( 2 . 69 ) in convenience stores .

4 . 50 for a 40 ounce beer ? in their dreams .

7 bucks for a pack of smokes ? thats one dumb sob who cant find a way around that .

thats why my ( ex ) friend betsy and i are on the outs . i could throw handfuls of money at her but she wouldnt do anything to modify her carelessness . you know whats said about doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results .
it shorts my brain out , i cant take it .

I remember back when the local bakery used to sell a bag of day olds for a bargain, now they've gone out of business and it's more like $1.30 a piece at Timmies. To top it off the selection is getting smaller as they expand the amount of other stuff they try to sell, and the quality keeps going down. I think corporate has their head up their azz, they are never going to compete head to head with McDonalds or Starbucks and they are driving their old regulars away.

ive been looking at an ' apple pie filling ' cinnamon roll recipe . looks like a person might just smoosh a well into the middle of the roll and fill it with apple .
it sure looks good .

I actually find Tim Horton doughnuts quite dry sometimes.

Now Krispy Kreme, yum, yum. A second on your lips, a lifetime on your hips.

cwillie....We don't have a Tim Hortons here but there's a gas station up the street that sells as many donuts as you can fit into a bag for only $1.59 after 2:00 p.m and they're really good donuts from some bakery that brings 'em in.They also include Apple fritters and cinnomin rolls too in the deal.Talk about tasty!....and fattening~but oh,so good.

i just got some good news from my detective . they have a 4th detective on staff now and he says theyre fixing to take another run at everyone ( the suspects ' camp ) .
to me that means people are going to be brought in for questioning again . the questions will be designed to trip up and pit one against the other ( my understanding of this process ) . they arent going to remember their bs stories from three years ago but the detectives will have it not only documented but strategically arranged and rehearsed . interrogation is extremely scientific sht and they wouldnt be trying it again unless they have a strategy . i feel they sense a weak target in the camp . they may have some jaw dropping new ammunition too .
in the usa the detectives are allowed to lie . i'll bet theyre good at it too . :)>

Mayday, sounds like a cottage pie, yummo!

Pho for dinner. Love vietnamese food and the soup makes me feel healthy. Everywhere you go people are hacking and sneezing, so I needed an immunity boost to quell the OCD😁.

5 pounds of garlic mashed potatoes were just too much for a very small family. I gave some to the home where my aunt is is at, and them I cooked up some hamburger, thought we were out of turkey... not... didn't see it.. anyway, mixed that up with home grown onion and red pepper, frozen veggies. Spread that in a baking dish, scooped the left over gravy over that, layered all the mashed potatoes we had left. Added cheese on top of that... It was really good. I also added to the mix some pepper flakes.

Captain: Roofing nails work great!! Someone on our street did their roof, or the guy who did it, left nails everywhere... The tire store, down the street appreciated all the business he received from all those roofing nails

i used to make custard filled , chocolate iced , nut topped eclairs ( puff pastry ) .
high oven temp is the rising agent ( internal steam ) . they become hollow tubes .

ya squirt them out of a bread bag with the corner cut out in ( in order to keep the dough as wet and light as possible ) . thats what i did on the weekend mornings when i wasnt building the house , working full time or being a worthless alcoholic .

Dinner is as of yet undecided but I've seen some good suggestions here!
I just made a big ass diner style breakfast. Hashbrowns, eggs, bacon, toast Community Coffee with real half and half . Some blueberries and really good oranges I bought yesterday on the side to give me the brief illusion of eating healthy.
However, reading about Captain's donuts, I now have doughnut lust and may have to go on the prowl for some. For breakfast dessert, fruit be damned. Krispy Kreme, Dunkin, Winchell's and a grocery store chain that has really good ones, all within a few blocks of me. I've never tried making them myself before..maybe will sometime. Sound yummy!

the phone used to ring in the evening as often as not . my ex had two blowhard girlfriends .
me n the boys called one ' ratchet jaw .
the other was ' scream jean ' . ( a burly , bigfoot looking specimen . )

the oldest son would answer the phone then walk into the living room mimicking one or the other ( wordlessly ) .
he'd either be twisting an imaginary racket at his jaw or crashing stifflegged into the room like the abominable snowman or something .

if the ex hates my guts ( and she does ) i wear it like a badge of honor .

its just 12 donuts cwillie .
i took on the hobby of ' proportion ' years ago . to make dinner for 4 people and count on no leftovers , several things have to be considered .
how hungry is everyone ?
is it good enough theyll want seconds or thirds ?

ie; chilidog night . was common for one of the boys to ask me " only a three dog night ? " .
there was a lot of humor in our home . families grow apart and often go their own ways . better to have the nice memories than not i s'pose .

Cap I admire all the cooking you do - I would have opted for the cookies in town.
One question - what do you do with all the food? Even a small batch of donuts is a lot for one person.

the lightest , air - eist donut ive ever made . i shoulda put canned apples in the batter and liquid instead of powdered glazing them .
not bad considering its been 25 years since ive fried a donut .

im not a big fan of ' town ' anymore . i took the forestry job 3 months ago to reverse the isolation i was living . three months later i see the isolation in a different light . i should pour buckets of nails down the driveway to ensure the isolation . :)>

Ms. Madge
Mexican food is always a good choice.

Send- potatoes can be fixed so many ways. DH loves him some potatoes. He thinks it is THE only vegetable there is.

I forgot to tell you all. I finally got my steam mop.
I love it.
I spent most of yesterday doing all the floors.
Thank you all for discussing it, I can't see how I ever lived without it.
It is great!
