I love balsamic dressing(my favorite)

tonights dinner was intended to be for them, baked salmon(w/rosemary, garlic), some wild rice and hollandaise sauce, and some green beans,
Pineapple upside down cake.

Well I did not have time to thaw the salmon. So that will be Monday
So it was breakfast for dinner.
Biscuits and sausage gravy, a 3 meat and cheese breakfast casserole
And well they still got the cake.

I havent been too hungry lately, so I just had salad.
But right now I am hungry and do not want to eat this late.

Sendhelp,

Auto correct drives me nuts too. I think there is a way to disable it though.

Balsamic dressing is one of my favorites! We have a food and beverage museum here.

There is a balsamic tasting held there. They also sell it in the gift shop. Some of them are very expensive and are absolutely delicious!

Kind of like olive oil pricing. Some are really expensive but are so very good. We have a Greek festival here where they sell fabulous olive oil. It’s worth every penny!

Auto-correct has done it again!
Creamy balsamic dressing (not creamy balsamic medicine).

A potato flatbread is such a good idea! We use flatbread to make our own pizza style treats.
When there is time.
I gave away 8 potatoes to 3 different neighbors today, and yes, I talked to them.

We also met the open enrollment deadline today. It was hit and miss, as we signed up with an AARP plan by phone. In completing the enrollment, hubs answered "No". So he chose a Humana plan, as I was being quiet in the background, apoplexy to be exact. His CHOICE to pay a$15 co-pay each chiropractic visit instead of zero! ($60-90/ mo. for him.) He says nothing when asked where are we getting that extra amount?

We are keeping the rest of the potatoes.

Send, you could make roasted garlic and lobster mashed potatoes.

Or mashed potatoes freezes well.

Make them with chicken broth for an added flavor and less fat.

Loaded baked potato soup!

Curried lentil and rice pilaf with sweet potato fries, accompanied by a dollop of cottage cheese because I'm out of plain yogurt. The plan for dessert is home canned peaches and a few fresh raspberries (they were on sale).

Yes Gershun,
If the dirt still has more nutrients than toxins, the peel does have loads of nutrition.
So, for lunch, I had 1/2 baked potato, no toppings at all. These are really good potatoes.

Eat the peels. They are supposed to be good for you.

we put some sour cream in our mashed potatoes, but this year hubs cooked everything ( yeah hubs) and I think he overdid it.. they taste strange to me, so I can't choke them down,, and I love me some potatoes! Some people put cream cheese in thiers. We did add horseradish one year and they were wonderful!

I am with y'all with the Greek or strained plain yogurt. Use that in place of sour cream for years and I do't think anyone can tell the difference.
Ok...
Dinner tonight.
Grandson and I went out on Sunday for Chinese and I had them pack up all of my main, just had soup and egg roll...
So tonight I am heating up the Shanghai Chicken and I went back and bought a quart of the Hot and Sour soup so Grandson and I are having sort of a flashback Wednesday. Oh and I made rice pudding with the white rice that was in the bag. (he loves rice pudding, and I love him so.....)

Yes, I was trying to be politically correct and not gross out people who don't like yoghurt. We only use the "real" greek yoghurt and have not eaten sour cream for years. Using real butter too, but I am challenged greatly to use just a small amount.
Some of the healthy changes were made thanks to your advice over the years, Cwilllie.
And I have taken advice from others too.

Whoa, go easy on the sour cream and butter Send 😉
(My tip for today, substitute plain greek style yogurt for sour cream and you'll never bother buying sour cream again)

The rutabaga is still out in my shed, I forgot all about it - oops! The temps have been moderate here so it should be fine until I get to it.

Contrary to what they tried to tell us back in the 70's and 80's potatoes are good for you, no need to cut them out of your diet. I grew up eating potatoes every day, sometimes twice a day. If you have anywhere cool to store them they will last for weeks, months even - if they start to sprout no worries, just break the sprouts off. I've found that keeping them under a cooler turned upside down on my basement floor works quite well.

Costco had 15 lbs. sack of huge potatoes.
Today, my new diet is cutting out everything white.
White rice,
white bread, (no all breads),
white potatoes....

There is only the two of us, so hubs wants to return the potatoes.
My bad that we bought too much. I said they will have to discard them if we return them because it is a food. He could eat a few.

So I suggested we share with the neighbors. He said they would just toss them. I said I will ask them how many they want. He said, "You are going to talk to the neighbors?" I said I will put them outside on a table..... Yes, we are really having this conversation. He wants to return them and exchange them for yams.

"I know, in keeping with the tradition of spreading holiday cheer, I will put them in a bag in their mailbox" With a little note: Put these potatoes in your Christmas stocking instead of a lump of coal! He says, (not being able to understand sarcasm): "I will toss them".

And that is the end of my little Christmas conversation about potatoes.

CWillie, what will you be doing with the lone little rutabega?

Should I go off my diet until the potatoes are all gone?

The "cousins" (8 kids, ages 5-15, in the grand-kid generation plus a couple of extended family friends) started showing up at 5:36am Friday morning, or earlier if you consider the two who had a "sleep over" Thanksgiving night. Parents can work or shop, kids just want to spend time with their cousins. When they were small, I babysat this group every weekend; now the cousins include 3 teenagers and they communicate and "schedule" their own visits. So Friday was an on-demand cooking day. Breakfast was pancakes, both original and blueberry, eggs, bacon, and some blueberry muffins. In addition to leftovers, lunch needed one pot spaghetti and supper was grilled sandwiches (cheese, ham & cheese, turkey & cheese), oven baked french fries and raw veggies with dip. Mom joined the group watching Disney+ movies in the living room most of the day before retiring to her room and immediately falling asleep. Today I cooked chili beans and some cornbread for lunch; afterwards Mom and I enjoyed the peace and quiet of a rainy day for afternoon naps. Tonight I packed the electric grill back up while hoping I need it again over the Christmas school break.

I'm waiting for a good sale on potatoes Captain, no way I'll pay the more than $1/lb they want at my local store.
I came home with a giant rutabaga that was left lying undamaged on top of a plowed field. For now it's been tossed in my garden shed, I'll have to figure out what I'm going to do with it later.
