amazing . the meatloaf is already done -- in fact 200 degrees inside . considered done at 160 . gonna have to go to town for bread cause ive no doubt that it'll be best as cold sandwiches .
i'll spent that couple of bucks electricity savings on some canned mushroom bits for next time .

and of course a fistful of the dehydrated onion .

alright . got tired of hearing the furnace cycle so i lit a wood fire . decided to do the meatloaf thing . mixed up some weird things to incl canned tomato , tomato paste , garlic powder , red pepper , hamburger , croutons , flax hot cereal mix ( ? yea , i know ) just " stuff .
placed my sharpening stone on the heating stovetop , sat the meat loaf pan on it then covered it with a huge canning pan . i fail to see why it shouldnt bake up just fine in there .
ovens use a lot of electricity . electricity costs money .

i used to make the bread stuffing baked chops but i remember making the light breading with apples ( or applesauce ) . and whole kernel corn .
hopefully i'll have someone to cook for again some day . i cant see the future but neither can my adversaries . im pretty sure mine doesnt entail steel bars though .

Captain,

Nice! I like a wheat beer in the summer. But otherwise prefer a darker beer. I haven’t found an IPA that I like yet.

I love the smaller craft brews.

I get what you’re saying about doubt. I think it’s because you have been waiting so long! It will happen though. Most likely when you least expect it. At least that’s how a lot of things have happened in my life. Just when I thought it would never happen.

i try not to be real scientific about the beer . i use liquid malts . brewed two darks , three pilsners and then some bavarian wheats . strangely they all taste better at a cellar temperature than ice cold .
my latest is a pilsner / wheat blend with the addition of molasses . i havent tried one yet , they need about another week to ripen imo .

yes im real optimistic about justice but there are still those moody times when doubt sets in . i dont have a label for that emotion . its a fear of justice failing entirely

it makes breathing difficult .

You know it’s weird how some kids are so picky and others eat anything. I was an incredibly picky kid. I swear I ate PB&J sandwiches every single day for school lunch. If my mom was out of bread and I had to buy school lunch I was so upset.

Now I love a variety of food.

Captain,

What’s your favorite kind of beer to brew? I like the amber, a darker beer.

Captain,

Our legal system needs improving for sure. I’m still hoping the best for you. I believe you will see justice down the road based on what you have told us about the circumstances.

that meatloaf sounds great .
i took a nap ( raining hard here ) and just woke up feeling quite depressed . my optimism regarding justice has its ups and downs .
the accused in the indiana " jill behrman " murder was released from prison a couple of weeks ago . the case against him was always extremely weak .

when justice fails -- it fails big . it creates even more victims in the process .

Tomorrow is a huge "Colorfest" weekend here in my part of Maryland, and I have some friends arriving early as we all go every year and make a day of it.. so tonight I made a breakfast casserole.. dinner tonight and breakfast for us all tomorrow! I also got a great deal on country pork ribs at the store today.. so hubs is making pork and sauerkraut for dinner tomorrow. I am having a lot of leg pain, and some walking problems,, so I know I will be beat by the time I get home! I also made "red beet eggs", or pickled eggs as the Amish call them. They will be perfect in 3 days.

Thanks to the beer post by the Capt'n I remembered to add a can to the stash of wine I picked up to take to dinner this weekend, so it's a barley sandwich for lunch.

I have a bunch of peppers I've brought in over the last week waiting for me to get off may azz and chop them up for the freezer so my goal for today is to make a deconstructed stuffed pepper casserole. I've also had the ingredients for morning glory muffins sitting on my counter all week, that could be dessert. But like I said, this involves actually getting the motivation to get up and start cooking so I might just be eating PB sandwiches tonight or foraging for leftovers....

Captain, I love mushrooms. We have a health food restaurant near us that does a fantastic sautéed mushroom sandwich. It has mushrooms, cheese, avocado, shredded carrots, and spouts. Served on a whole grain bun.

Mushroom omelettes are yummy and of course they are great on pizza! Hubby likes them with steak. He grills fantastic dinners. I have never grilled on the BBQ grill because he does it. I just make the sides.

i wasnt visiting here during my ' foray ' with homemade bratwurst . good clean fun is what that was . just make it up as you go . sometimes ' chipped ' morel mushrooms were added .
i learned that its hard work start to finish ( even if you start with ground , fresh pork .
makes for a long fn day by the time you get them half baked in the oven , bagged , and frozen .

a couple of years ago i was toying around with cornbread because i could slather it with butter and make it the entire meal -- UNTIL -- i saw how many calories that sht was .
too many for its limited nutritive value .
i can do lemon crumb crust pie for less ' beltline ' consequences .

aunt edna used to crumble some spicy pork cracklin " snack chips " into her cornbread batter . let me tell you , it wasnt a mere whim . it was cornbread that brought the channel 6 news helicopter circling .
